Payton Talbott?

do we have any clues as to what Talbott aligns with politically? it’s refreshing to see a fighter present them self in a way that’s not typical to most MMA fighters so i’m a bit curious on how he leans politically

I think some of the fighters need one of these that Dave Chappelle was talking about

Support Independent MMA Media Covering Conor’s SA

The silence in the MMA media landscape regarding Conor McGregor being found liable for sexually assaulting a female in Ireland has been deafening. Usually Ariel Helwani is good at covering things and will give the straight dope, but here he just read the verdict/news off of a screen with no opinion. It was like he was a hostage victim reading Conor is guilty. Additionally, he even completed the situation to Mike Tyson’s rape case in the 90s seemingly to , elicit some sort of sympathy for McGregor.

The only major MMA journalist to really cover this fairly is Luke Thomas. He has been absolutely fantastic. He had on one of Ireland best media personalities in Frank Greany to go over the case. Frank had sat through the entire trial. So check out Luke’s interview with him if so inclined.

But also, there are smaller streamers that have covered it in depth and I think we should show them our support. One of them is MMA Joey. He has around 30 K subscribers, but he really put in a good effort here. I don’t ever promote content creators but since very rare situation.

Thx guys!

The insane dichotomy between Canelo and Conor

For those that don’t watch boxing, Canelo Alvarez has been its biggest star post- Mayweather.

In some ways, he reminds me of McGregor. Maybe it’s because Canelo might have Irish in him too. From Wikipedia:

Canelo in Spanish is the masculine word for cinnamon, which is a common nickname for people with red hair. In Mexico, it is common for people to associate red hair with the Irish soldiers who fought for Mexico in the Saint Patrick's Battalion during the Mexican–American War. Speaking about his ancestry, Álvarez once said, "There might have been an Irish grandfather somewhere back in my past."

But more to my point: Canelo and Conor, I would argue, have very similar levels of wealth and stardom. Both were the face of their sport.

That’s where this dichotomy gets wild. Canelo, however, is still DOMINATING in boxing. He’s been a professional boxer since he was 15, and is 33 now. He’s been competing at the highest levels for over a decade. Yet, he still laces up the gloves multiple times per year against the very best. I watched the Usman/Cejudo pound 4 pound interview with him (among others) and it’s insane to see how focused and dedicated he still is.

Meanwhile, the moment McGregor got to the top, he fell into coke, and sexual assault.

When you really think about it, it’s wild to compare the two.

This comment exchange encapsulates the stupidity of the average UFC fan

Somebody left this comment on Ian Garry’s recent instagram post. To me, this is a perfect example of the stupidity of so many UFC fans. They believe literally EVERYTHING that caters to a narrow point of view they have while doing zero research on that topic whatsoever. That’s why certain MMA YouTubers have big followings; they just feed people these conspiracies.

How this warlord is using MMA to build an army

Great video explaining how Ramzan Kadyrov is using the MMA scene for his benefits, and how Fight Club Akhmat isn't just a normal MMA Fight club but also a Club of training and recruitment of MMA Fighters into Kadyrov Personal Army the Kadyrovites

What is your thoughts about it should MMA fighters who are affiliated with Kadyrov should be allowed to compete?

In the video there is also former UFC Fighter Abdul-Kerim Edilov who died in mysterious circum in 2022

Conor McGregor, who has widely blamed immigration for endangering Irish citizens, assaulted young woman, jury finds.

Conor has been an outspoken critic of asylum seekers and the Irish immigration system for endangering Irish citizens, particularly women and girls. Today, a jury in a civil rape case ruled against him.

Don't think he'll be running for President any time soon!

PSA: If you wish to not give a fighter attention/internet traffic (eg Mcgregor) you can block every url containing their name

Conor makes money from the attention. The attention he got from badmouthing Poirier, Aldo, Floyd, Khabib and their countries and families, from punching a guy in a pub and from throwing a dolly thought a bus window arguably encouraged him to lean even more into abhorrent behaviour. For a guy like that, all attention is good attention, because he likes the fame and the money that comes with it. His nickname is literally "The Notorious", ffs - not "The one who's famous for all the right reasons". People wanting to see him KOed for rape, assault or for instigating riots are just giving him what he wants, imo, and encouraging him to find new targets of his sober or coked-up antics. Even just viewing articles to mock or criticise him or to get neurotransmitters from the drama, is all giving him internet traffic metrics that help his brand. It makes it more likely he's in movies and is looked up to by young people, who think "well he's successful and popular, that's how I should act". IE fans arguably bear some small responsibility for his wrongdoings.

If at any point you want to not view articles about him, leechblock is one good option. You can block all sites that contain "mcgregor" in the url, or block just the mcgregor urls from certain websites (eg from news sites, if you want to still see forum threads).

If you adore Mcgregor and want to block Wonderboy, Weili or Korean Zombie urls instead (and TKZ's beautiful singing voice), you can do that.
