My son is interested in attending MIAD but I have some questions about the core credits that everyone has to take. Are they straight up English 101, Algebra 101, etc. Or are the classes tweaked in any way to reflect the art nature of the college? Thanks in advance.
Hello, I’m reaching out to see if anyone ever had issues with a product design! Thanks!
Hi I’m a current student at MIAD and I recently had a chemical pregnancy ( I have an IUD but it failed) I was just wondering in case my birth control fails again in the future how MIAD accommodates to pregnancy with students? Do you still go in person to school or do they offer online classes for that case? And with the attendance policy I would assume doctors appointments and that stuff would be excused but i dont know so it’s a pretty strict school when it comes to that. If anyone has/ or knows anything about this kind of circumstance I’d really appreciate the help. I’ve been anxious since it failed and my doctor said it shouldn’t happen again but I’m curious because if I did end up pregnant I’d want to keep and still continue at MIAD.
I am a Canadian parent of an incoming freshman looking to network with other parents to pool resources, links, find friends, etc.
Any upperclassmen out there have any advice about getting an apartment here in Milwaukee over the summer and into the school year? Should I wait to start applying until like March or should I be actively looking now? Are there any places you would suggest for 4 occupants? Literally any advice is appreciated:)
Hello! I am currently stuck between deciding on schools. Trying to see how people feel about MIAD, I am looking into mainly product design! Thank you!
Hey guys just got accepted with a presidential scholarship but still might not be able to afford. Does anyone know how to apply for housing scholarship?
Hi there, I am currently working on a book of paintings of a Cambodian painter who passed away ten years ago. I have found out that there is one person living in Milwaukee near MSOE who bought some of his paintings. So I have asked him if he could take photographs of the paintings to include them in the book, but he does not have enough technical knowledge to take a good photograph of them. I am looking for the help of someone with basic photographic knowledge (ISO, aperture, focal length) and who would accept to work on this small gig. I have tried to contact local photographers, but no luck, most of them are only looking for bigger assignments. So if any of you would have access to the students' job board, maybe some photography student would be interested to do it. Thanks!
Hello ! I’m transferring to MIAD and had a question i can’t seem to find an answer to. In my portfolio i had mostly paintings but i want to sculpt. Will I’ll i be able to take/ major in sculpting classes or will i be placed in painting classes based the content ofmy portfolio?
Hey all, I am just wondering if anyone has any general tips or words of advice for an incoming student at MIAD. Maybe what you should get for dorms, books and supplies you may need, best classes to take, etc.
Junior of illustration. Think it would be cool to have a spot for people to shoot some shit about MIAD and post what people are working on for pre crit stuffs or whatever.
Anyone alive?
Hey Guys and Gals,
As the Moderator I am deleting everything on here as this sub needs a fresh start.
I am opening this post up to thoughts, opinions, ideas and conversation about what this subreddit should be and what rules it should have.
As an Alumni now, I would like to also find someone interested in becoming a fellow moderator that is in the school to help keep other students informed on events and news from within the school.
I also believe this should be a place for critiques of work, discussions of art and art related ideas, and thoughts about our school.
We have the potential to make this subreddit something worth actually looking at!
