why the hell did they even removed them? I don't get it and it makes me a little bit angry lol
also: please add different overlay modes lime subtraction etc.
Hi just wanted to know if the LUTs for stills are now in the updated version of the S5? The original S5 didn't got this feature but now with the S5D I didn't found any information about it. Does it got it too?
Hello, I have the lumix g7 and I wanted recommendations on a good budget flash. Preferably on Amazon.
Hi, today I bought a Lumix DMC-FX40 and everything was great, until I wanted to test out the flash.
when I switch on the flash in any shape or form, it blinks red and after 10-15 seconds the led display turns white with a "SYSTEM ERROR" message, what can I do ? is it hardware related ?
thanks!
Hi all!
I am a simple hobby photographer that just shoot pictures for fun. I use an old GM1 with a couple of different lenses and i like the portability but i would like to have something that handles better and takes better video. Looking at new gear and the cost can easily rise far above what i am willing to pay.
I have a chance to get the G80 with the 12-60 kit lens directly from Panasonic store for 375 EUR (400 USD). Good deal? Enough upgrade for the GM1? Any alternatives?
Appreciate your input. :)

If I am on version 1.3, can I update it directly to the latest version (currently 2.1) or do I have to download each version one by one?
It says with S5ii and Kit lens it includes free

I have a GH6 and have it rigged with an external monitor and v-mount battery for long shoots.
I just noticed this evening that I am not seeing the in camera histogram over HDMI to the external monitor. I have the display information setting toggled to on and can see the camera menus and other information but not my histogram or waveform display.
The monitor has its own but it's not as accurate or responsive as the in camera display.
Is the wave and histogram output over HDMI not possible or I perhaps missing an obscure setting?
Whenever I connect an external monitor, all 3 preview screens (external and both large life view and eye life view) change the previewed image from the original 4:3 4608x3464 resolution to a slightly cropped 4k 16:9 3840x2160 resolution. Only shooting in raw saves my images. Although I have to remember to crop out in Lightroom. Which i don't if I don't remember that I used a monitor when I took that specific photo.
I currently use my phone (1080p) via an HDMI adapter as the monitor. So the resolution is not original anyway, but it's the crop that anoys me pretty much. Though, it even seems to be a general issue with external monitors, so...
My question is, how can I change the preview back to the uncroped original when having a monitor connected? Is there a setting I just overlooked? Or is there a special monitor for photography?
Tried to update my S5M2 to the latest firmware yesterday. Formatted the SD card first, used an official Lumix battery that was fully charged.
Started the update, bar got to the end, and the screen flashed to black. Screen stayed black for at least 20 minutes, and the orange light on the front of the camera stayed on the whole 20 minutes.
I thought maybe it had crashed, so I turned it off. Now the camera is 100% dead. Tried 4 different fully charged batteries (Lumix and 3rd party), tried plugging it in to USB-C, tried removing the SD card, using a different SD card. Tried leaving the battery out overnight and attempting to turn it back on in the morning.
Nada. No lights anywhere, no nothing. It's as if this is not an electronic device. Any ideas of how to reset it or get it to turn on again? Is there a magical Lumix button key combo I'm unable to find with my usually strong Google-fu? Could a repair shop do some kind of fuse reset?
(No, it's not under warranty)
I was wondering what external monitor you all use/prefer and why. I'm looking to pick one up.
This is out of the camera with no editing using the Lumix Lab LUT “Refreshing Cuisine”
Glanced at the S5II kit to see if EDU deals were still going on and saw an insane list of freebies under the body photo (screenshot included). Called to confirm and they said it was a mistake (obvs).
What a deal THIS would’ve been!
Hey, have you ever had an md file ?
My s5 died during and intervire, v mount battery with dummy battery.
17gb mdt file
data recovery from lumix does not work -.-
Early morning stroll driven by jet lag. Stitched together footage captured throughout Nihonbashi in Tokyo.
Manually cropped in post for wide aspect ratio. Used monopod for extra stability.
Just updated to 3.1 by copy on sd card and followed instruction as manual.
But i have this issues
when i do one shot it's fine works well, but on second shot the camera goes in an infinite buffering mode waiting, black screen and only red dot on down left on monitor, and Need to push out battery to fix. This problem exist on all mode M, S, P, iA etc... And if i use different fast shutter mode still have the same problem.
video works well, also playing on camera after works (no buffering as point 1)
Anyone has this problem?
Do you know if i can go back to previous firmware by myself maybe?
Thanks for help in advance
hey yall, i’m looking to buy a lumix s1 as its a really good budget camera (in my opinion) and sadly there is a lack of new information surrounding it, i would love to hear from owners and people that have owned the s1 about how good/bad it is to use and just wether it is a good option, for me i’m hooked on the 10bit open gate and the 6k photos and even the c4K, however one aspect that i couldn’t quite find being talked about anywhere was the rolling shutter in these high quality video options, can anyone tell me about that too? thanks for the help.
G9:
Repair 1: My strap lug was loose so they tightened it. Unbeknownst to me, they screwed up the weather sealing.
Repair 2: Sent the camera in for a complete malfunction. Sensor was seeing nothing but black due to weather sealing failure (I was using a weather sealed lens and dried camera right when I got inside). They "fixed it" for me to find that the weather sealing was still not trustworthy.
I then sold the camera since I couldn't trust its reliability anymore. Was a shame as it was one of my favorite Lumix cameras.
S5II:
Repair 1: High pitched whine in all recorded footage, regardless of settings. Sent in for repair, they "fixed it" by replacing main board. When I got the camera back, the high pitched whine has been still there, with my DMW-SFU2 RAW HDMI upgrade vanished from the camera despite a full camera backup on the SD card. Now I'm out $200 for another DMW-SFU2 upgrade unless Panasonic support Professional Electronics can re-enable it on my camera.
This makes me uneasy and unsure if I want to invest more in Lumix products in the future.
What experiences have you all had with LPS support?
Hey all,
So I’ve recently bought a Panasonic S5iix for video production, something small and light to fill in for my Canon C70.
I’m thinking of expanding more so into the still world (I can get in with some European music festivals for portfolio work and mingle)
I thought if I have a 24-70 and a 70-200 that’ll do me with having 2 bodies.
I’ve just seen that an S1 is going for £600 on mpb. That seems absolutely f’ing mental?!
So, other than the relatively chunkier size and relatively slow stills FPS, why wouldn’t I want to pick one of these up?
Edit : I just find is absolutely mad that the camera is as cheap as it is
