Hi!
I just share my experience as i lost 8 hours changing all my assigns one by one on my boss RC500, i just found a way to change all the assigns by once, you can just edit your memory1.RC0 file with an editor like notepad++ and then copy and paste the template you made on one track and use the "replace" function to change all the assigns on the file. Make backups and do it at your own risks as it can damage your RC500 if you do it wrong, it worked for me! You just need to know a bit about editing/programing. Good luck
I keep getting Unit is Busy when trying to connect my RC600 to my MacBook when connecting it to the Rhythm Converter app. I get "Unit is busy" "Device already Occupied" or "User pattern file format is wrong." How do I fix these messages? I've tried everything I feel. I've put it in storage mode, put in in generic and vendor mode, everything is using the latest firmware. I close down Logic Pro and other audio programs. Where are these errors coming from? Thanks for any help. I've spent hours trying to resolve this issue.
Hey everyone. I have the RC-10r loop pedal which has drums and loops, which are currently routed from separate outputs on the unit - loops go back to my amp via effects loop, and the drums go to a mixer. The issue is there is no simple way to mute/pause the separate outputs in the unit during a song so I'm looking for a pedal that can turn on/off each output but keeping each output separate. I think the LS-2 can do it but I'm not sure. It seems most pedals that do this are generally for switching effects chains and returns/sends but will still go to one output, which I obviously don't want. I can do it via MIDI commands but I'd like to avoid this if I can. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hey y'all, i am primarily a producer, but have recently gotten into looping to do a live set and I'm wondering if there is a looper with several tracks (say 4 or 5 at least) where each track can have an individual output. They could be audio outputs, or even just digital outputs so each track can go into my daw as a separate track. I want to be able to do post production on each track separately.
Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻
So I make these out of time loops with an old boss loop pedal. I'm curious about an upgrade to an rc 202. I understand it sends midi clock, if you make a loop from scratch how does it decide on the bpm ? anyone know ?
Here's one of the out of time loops I make -

Inspired by marc ribbelet I started making a set in mainstage. Which really makes for a very light set up with a huge ammount of sounds. Im actually not a huge fan of laptops on stage but it’s so convenient. Who else struggles with this?
Been trying out looping samples and beats while playing live. So fun, could go for hours… Should i try this live?
Hi everyone, I connected my midi keyboard to my PC to which my boss rc 505 mk2 is also connected. Through logic I would like to record my akai mpk mini, but the loop station only records it with the “SW” mode off. Solutions to the problem?
I currently have an RC 600 and have been able to use it just fine for my violin looping. However, I like the tangible faders and wide soft buttons of the RC 505 MK2. I'm thinking it might be more approachable than having to adjust my levels through the little screen with a knob on my 600. I'm wondering if anyone is currently using an RC 505 as a foot looper for gigs or music creation?
Hi everyone, I managed to connect my loop station to my macbook, however it doesn't allow me to record with the "SW" function off from my akai mpk mini, how can I solve the problem?
Anybody have insight? It happens when hooked up to my iPhone or MacBook. Teeny tiny little gaps or skips. Maybe once every 30 seconds or so.
Hey ya'll. I've looked around the internet a lot to figure this out. Could not find a concise answer, which maybe means the FS6 cannot, but what I would like to do is control the start/stop recording on a RC30. I use my looper on a table alongside other gear and would like to control recording with my feet. Any advise? Thank you.
I’ve been thinking about looping live with my steel pans. At most, I’d create a simple percussion loop, a bass line (with electric bass, or pans + octaver), and chords (on pan).
If I can create a set of A section loops and B section loops, that would cover most anything that would be verse + chorus.
One challenge is that is have to mic my pans, so I’d have to be careful of loop bleed.
What are your ideas for setup?
Total beginner here. Wondering what people recommend for a basic speaker option for output from my looper. I just want to do acousitc guitar and beat box loops.
Total newbie to Dj and Sampling (venturing out from behind bass guitar and percussion) . Trying to figure out a setup to perform with a live band. As well as DJ between sets. I have been messing around with a pioneer DDJ-400 but also Looking to perform live covers with a full band. Here are my questions
Just got my second 505 and would love to have 10 tracks to loop. Is it possible??
I have now set up my novation circuit tracks to be a slave to my boss 505. I’m able to hear an audio from the circuit. The only issue, is that if I have an input effect on, for example, reverb, then add it also to the midi drum sequencer. I play with the Boss’ input FX reverb for my guitar so I want to have it on, but I don’t want it to impact any of the midi tracks. is there a way to make the midi bypass input FX?
Thank you for any help!
Hi. My current set up is the Novation Circuit Tracks connected to the Boss rc505 and using the Boss as the master. I also have the boss FS6 footswicth. One of the swicthes is assigned to start and stop all tracks. I use this to create 'drops'. I recently got my Circuit, and I want it to also turn off when I press all stop, but right now it is not doing so.
Does anyone know how to get an external MIDI device (connected via MIDI and an audio cable to the boss) to start and stop with the Boss's "ALL Start/Stop button?
Thank you!!
Hi y'all,
A recent owner of an MK2 here, was wondering whether everybody gets these hiccups and are normal. My setup is: JBL party box, Shure SM58, and Sennheiser HD 25's.
Unpredictable sporadic freezes while playing loops (can't even replicate them).
A sound that keeps looping indefinitely until a memory change or a hard restart. (Once with GRN Delay feedback 100, and it never turned off after turning the feedback down, always worked for me)
One time all the loop buttons froze and I couldn't use them until a hard restart.
So I bought the RC 505 MK2 four months ago from Amazon UK, it was supposedly "new" but now it's past the return period and have to resort to BOSS.
If I should be returning it, or contacting BOSS, could someone direct me to where I should contact them for my purchase from Amazon UK?
Hi everyone, I'll start by saying that I'm new to loop stations and my question is: Can I record my Akai mpk mini through my boss RC500 5M K2 without using an audio interface?
I want to connect my Novation Circuit Tracks to my Boss RC505mkii using the Boss as the Master. I have a MIDI cable connectied to the circuit's 'In' and the Boss's 'Out' MIDI ports. The Circuit says SYN when I hit 'tempo' which I assume means that it is receiving clock from the Boss, however when I press anything on the Circuit, no sound comes out. I can't hear any of the synth or drum tracks.
Am I missing something really simple? I can hear other loops on Boss, so it's not an output issue. Are there any specific settings that I need to set on either device to get it to work?
Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am quite a noob with gear related things.
Thanks!

(i fucking hate loops, i know this isnt the sub for that language, but i dont like using anything for loops if its not the headrush by akai, not the purple and sulfur yellow one, the chorus on the jc-120 already the baddest fucking thing since the fender twin and charvel only made amps for a few years, and you can dial the bass alll the way to ten)
