Duck confit?

Does anyone know where I can pickup some prepared legs of duck confit? I was hoping that superstore would have it but it appears not. I got a cassoulet I need to make today.

Community events/initiatives that companies can donate to?

Does anyone know any upcoming community events or initiatives that companies can donate to?

I just found “Up with Art” which happened in May, and it was a fundraiser for the Unity Project and Museum London to raise $50,000 in five minutes to help end homelessness.

Any initiatives or events like that would be excellent and I’d love your recommendations.

Ukrainian food for delivery

I am a supporter and modest financier of the Ukrainian war against Russia. I am not knowledgeable about Ukrainian food, but would like to give it a try. I am pretty much home-bound, so I am intrested in Ukrainian food available for delivery. Are there any available services, and recommendations for food to try for a beginner? Thanks for any information.

Resources

Looking for recommendations for a family in the neighborhood with a disobedient kid, who’ve tried everything they know how (yes they discipline and aren’t “gentle parents”). Kid is male, 17 years old, not just disobedient to parents but has received warnings from police for various things. Are there any resources in London like social work, or other things to help parents cope, but also give them strategies they might not have thought of or ways to get through to this kid? Or if anyone has any experience of their own?

The family knows this post is being made, and are very open to options.

Boxing/MMA on weekends.

I'm looking to get back into kickboxing or something similar. I'd be happy with MMA as well, as long as it's beginner friendly.

Looking for adult class in Fridays or Saturdays, preferably after 1pm

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Auto Shop Recommendations

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for a good auto shop/mechanic in the Westmount area?

Would be a bonus if they’re known for being good working on Volkswagens.

My sister has been using Top Gear for years but we’ve moved out of the east end so it isn’t convenient to go there anymore.

Thanks in advance!

Coffee Shops open Later

Most coffee shops I've seen around here close around 6pm, but I enjoy studying at them and am looking for places that are open until ~9pm. I've been to saga downtown but is there anywhere else that is open later?

Where to donate baby clothes and items?

I have lots of brand new baby stuff that I’d like to go directly to someone in need and not just a money grabbing thrift shop that will sell it for a crazy amount or anything like that.

BLUE BALLED!

So close! I almost got to see the most London of London rites of passage. Good on the driver for realizing their mistake and safely getting out of their predicament, I guess...

Angel trees?

Does anyone know where one might find an angel tree in the area? I don't know if places have even started doing them yet but I haven't seen any - thanks!

I'm concerned for my neighbour

My two-doors-down neighbour has been having strange conversations with me lately about people recording him and conspiring against him. Things such as kids walking by his house recording video on their cell phones, trying to set him up on the bus, and even lightly accusing me of recording a bus stop across the road with my driveway camera. He's saying he has enough notes on people to "put them away" for a long time. This behaviour is new for him.

To make sure I wasn't off-base, I asked the neighbour between us if he thought this person was okay, to which he replied "I don't think so" and agreed there is reason to be concerned.

He lives on his own and we don't have contacts for any family member. I don't know what to do. Contacting the authorities for a wellness check would literally be this poor mans worst nightmare and potentially spiral him further.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to help?

Are there still people dressing up for Halloween tomorrow night?

Yes or no? Me and my friends are planning to go to the bar dressed up tomorrow friday night because that’s the only day we can. Is there still anyone dressing up tomorrow?

No costume trick or treating

So after a couple of years escorting my kids around the neighborhood I was able to stay home and hand put candy again. I am surprised by the amount of kids without costumes. I was raised as "no costume no candy rule" but I can't do that and say no. Is it just me or is Halloween fading away. It seems less and less people decorate and hand out candy anymore.
