I'm having this issue with Logic's Selection Based Processing and using RX. I'm mixing a podcast and need to remove a bunch of gross mouth noises with RX Mouth De-Click (best plugin EVER). In ProTools, I've literally never had an issue using it in AudioSuite, but for some reason it makes Logic freeze up basically every other time I use it. I have a host of other issues with things like RX Spectral De-Noise or De-Click only working with a huge amount of latency within the rendered clip in SBP too (I have to stretch the clip out like a minute to get the first second of audio I'm targeting).

My CPU usage is really only hovering around 20%, I've got almost 200gb of free space on my computer, and the session is running off of an external SSD (although this problem occurred even when I was running the session locally of my Mac HD. I've also made RX my default sample editor within Logic as well, hoping that'd make things a little easier (no dice)

Has anyone else had any issues like this?? I can't find anyone online having this kind of issue and it's driving me MAD!

I accidentally pressed update on my desktop and updated to Catalina 10.15.7 then Logic started freezing when I was dragging files into it from Splice Also freezes opening audio files

I am relatively new to logic. I am recording a video where I sing and I am wondering if its possible to record live harmonies for the recording. Like some sort of effect of the vocal that makes it sound like multiple people are singing while I am actually recording.

I've tried altering the buffer but no luck. M1 Mini, 8gb ram. Any help is very much appreciated.

This is my situation: When I export this I get a clipping sound at the end of my arrangement so I'd like to quickly add a fade-out to all the tracks. Any help appreciated <3

Hello! i am relatively new to using logic pro, and i have recently tried to import some audio from my previous projects in fl studio. I have one track in particular i really want to fit into a logic project, and i thought that saving the tempo data on the .wav file would be enough to smoothly transfer it. the original project in fl studio is 130 bpm; the logic project has 130 bpm tempo as well. After much trial and error, i have been unable to fix the following issue; the tempo of the .wav (130 bpm) and the tempo of the project (130 bpm) are not the same. it is a small difference, hard to notice at first, but after 41 measures the project metronome is about 1/16th note behind the audio file. Has anyone had a similar experience importing audio files from different DAWs? or can anyone explain how 130bpm in FL studio does not equal 130bpm in Logic Pro?

I did a soft reinstall of Logic and now it loads abit longer than before. Anyone know why this happens?

Is there a way to automatically sync different audio tracks from different sources? If so, can it also automatically correct time and pitch for analog tape recordings that are at slightly different speeds?

Final Cut Pro has a feature called multicam where you can sync different video angles automatically. I can sync digital video and (digitized) videotape recorded at slightly varying speeds. It works well. The analog video/sound is even perfectly timed and pitched. Is there a similar feature in Logic?

Hi I've been trying to use Synths in my work but it always ends up sounding like 💩 80s pop lol, my kinda general direction is more ambient, alt sounding, similar to say massive/Radiohead attack or Brutus by the buttress. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or if logics library is just out of date and I need to find new libraries

With the last update of Logic Pro (currently I'm on 11.0.1) I'm not able to select a series of automation and move them all down when there's already even just one point at -inf on one single track of the many selected. Aame goes when I try to turn up all the automation on a track where a point is already at +6dB. This is TRULY annoying as it slows down my mixing workflow so much.

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Has anyone found some workaround? Pls send help!

I’m not big into music production nor do I know much about Logic Pro, but I am a frequent user of the free auto tune that comes with Logic Pro, that being its pitch correction audio fx. But recently all the audio fx have changed on my mac and no longer have the pitch correction feature that I used. They all show up as AU. In general my Logic Pro has started giving me a bunch of issues and this was the main one that made me consider switching to fl studio. Anyone know what the resolution might be or have a similar issue?

Hello there. Something odd is going on, not sure if it's a setting or what.

I'm using a Nord Stage 3 to generate midi, and it's doing so on channel 1. I've verified that midi is coming into the computer, using an app called MidiView.

Mod wheel, aftertouch, notes are all fine.

On any track, I do not hear the results nor do I see any pitch bend after recording. Doesn't matter what instrument I use (Diva, Alchemy etc). The midi light is lighting up in the transport area when I send pitch, so it's got to be blocking/remapping pitch bend.

I have been wrestling with Control Surfaces--never used this feature, but this morning I set up my old Korg Nanokontrol. I have tried bypassing all control surfaces, and making sure none of the controls might be set to PB, but nothing. If I disconnect the Nanokontrol, no change: still no bend.

Any ideas? Earlier I had some other odd behavior where certain midi notes coming from the keyboard were opening various Logic windows, but was able to fix this by bypassing control surfaces (then it didn't come back when I turned off bypass). I have no clue what that was about. That has never happened before with any keyboard I've used as a controller. I'm going to try restarting the machine just in case, who knows might help.

Edit: Restarting did nothing. However, I tried a blank new project and it works fine. I have absolutely no clue what I did on that other project to "turn off" pitch bend. Certainly it wasn't anything I knowingly set related to pitch bend.

okay im going to make an example because i can't properly articulate my question

say i have two project files. RED.logicx and BLUE.logicx.

RED.logicx is an instrumental, with different piano sounds and synths and blah blah.

BLUE.logicx is me singing over the instrumental from RED. i exported red and put it in blue.logicx and sang over it.

Now say in BLUE.logicx, i put reverb on my vocal chain. If i export the acapella from BLUE, WITH the reverb, and then put the acapella in RED.logicx, would it sound the same as it would if I recorded dry vocals in RED and added reverb on top of it?

Basically, would a bounced audio file with reverb sound the same as an audio file with reverb in a project file?

Does that make sense?

I don't see why it would sound different, but in my head for some reason it feels like it would sound different. I dunno tho

Hi so i'm making a beat and wanted to try delay on my vocals, i recently been looking at jerk beats or hoodtrap beats with delay vocals but there isn't one for logic pro always FL. Anyway I use logic pro not FL or ableton but the delays i have are stero delay and tape delay, delay designer and a plugin called valhalla supermassive. Overall I want to know the timing of it, for example do i use 1/4 time in delay,feed back settings example do i use 2 or 4ms and lastly for dry/wet do i make the wet 100% and dry 7% for both or make the numbers the same on wet/dry setting. If your willing to help i will appreciate it. There is an example of how i want the delay to be.

Hi! I just got a new MacBook Air (the one with only USB type C ports) but my recording interfaces all use a USB type B cables. Can anyone recommend a replacement cable (or adapter, but preferably a single cable with correct jacks at either end) that will transfer data between interface and computer correctly? Interfaces are a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 and Behringer UMC1820, FYI. Thanks!

New to producing and I made a song and made sure everything wasn’t hitting digital 0 and I don’t think any part of my song was above -6db really. When I bounced it to an mp3 file and sent it to my phone even at max volume it wasn’t that loud on my phone compared to a song I would listen to on Spotify. Can anyone help explain why this is and how to get it louder? I know mastering is important but is that what makes a professional song loud? Like is that a necessary procedure to get a song up to levels of loudness? Would really appreciate any explanations as I’m really trying to learn and love to know the “why” behind things.

Right now I’m not understanding why it sounds pretty loud on my headphones through my audio interface but I need to put it on max volume on my phone to get it to a really listenable level, and even than it’s quieter than a max volume spotify song.

I just got a Kemper for recording guitar tracks. I use a SSL 12 interface and record three tracks 1 x stereo wet and 1 x dry so I can reamp later if necessary.
However, every trim, slip or edit has to be done on two audio regions and it really slows me down. I'm fairly new to Logic and I'm certain there is a shortcut I'm missing.
Ideas?

Hi all, I want to record my MK3 pads using Serato Sampler as an AU , yet in Logic Pro - So Maschine is an AU of Logic, I can edit and create Serato Sample chops on MK3 ,

It sets up OK but doesn't record.

I’m trying to use the stock “Mellow Chimes” instrument with “High Glide” selected on the Transform Pad, but something is off. For some reason, I only get the gliding/portamento effect about 50% of the time. Does anyone know how to make it glide consistently? Is there some technique or obscure setting or something that I’m missing? Thanks, y’all!

If it helps to clarify, here’s a list of factors I think I’ve ruled out: - “Glide/Filter Mix” box in the controls menu (still not consistent even with the glide value all the way up… is there a secret sweet spot?) - Note velocity (turned off the velocity sensors in my MIDI keyboard, still inconsistent with all notes at 127 velocity) - Note distance (tried out tons of different note sequences across all pitch ranges and can’t see any pattern as to when the gliding occurs)
