Hello.
After upgrading to Sonoma, Logic Pro crashes.
It closes immediately after the first screen appears upon launch.
When running without Audio Units, it works fine, and it also works properly in Rosetta mode.
What could be causing this issue?
Finally came to a decision and made the purchase. Mini M4 Pro, 12/16/16, 48GB RAM, 512GB Storage, standard ethernet. So fucking stoked!!
Hello, apologies but I’m fairly new to using Logic. I have an external MIDI (Roland J-6) that I would like to use in Logic.
I have created a MIDI track and I can hear the synth through Logic and I can see some green signal bars, but when I record the track it doesn’t record anything. Like there’s no red boxes there to show me something recording while I can still hear the sound. Any suggestions?
in logic when I'm recording in stereo - the waveform still looks as if it's one waveform which is confusing because it looks like a mono file, only when I'm finished does it present as a two waveforms - obviously nothing is technically is going wrong but I'd love a way for it to appear as two waveforms during the recording process as to not be confusing
What configuration of a Mac Studio is optimal for Logic Pro used as recorder and DAW for streaming?
Hey there, currently I am using a MacBook Air M1 and some MPE Plugins with the Osmose by ExpressiveE as a controller.
As I am playing quite many notes in one track I had the issue a few times that the CPU load is limited to its maximum and Logic stops the Plugin.
Now I am thinking to decide between M4 and M4 Pro. The Single-Core performance of the M4 is definitely better than the M1, but there’s still a quite big gap between M4 and M4 Pro.
Could you give my any thoughts, tips, experiences?
Thanks ! :)
What do you all recommend for a desk setup? With Black Friday and cyber Monday sales going on, it’s something I’m considering. Are there any decent relatively inexpensive ones?
Just curious if anyone has done it and how much it cost.
Cheers :)
Is it possible to gift a copy of Logic Pro to another person if they have an Apple ID?
Hello everyone, I currently have a question about MacBook Pro and Air. I own a 2019 MacBook Pro Touch Bar 16-inch, Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM.
I’m considering switching to the M chips because I’ve only heard good things about them. However, I can’t afford a MacBook Pro and can only go for a MacBook Air.
I actively produce music, but I don’t use tons of resource-intensive plugins on my tracks. I mainly focus on composition, recording, mixing, and mastering for Hip-Hop and Rap music.
Would a MacBook Air M3 with 16GB RAM be an upgrade compared to my current MBP? Would I benefit from making this change? I’ve heard a lot about the lack of fans on MacBook Airs, and as a result, they throttle performance to cool down their components. Would this be a real issue in my case?
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Edit : Thank you all for your answers and the time you took to address my question. It’s unanimous! I have the opportunity to upgrade, so I’ll go for it. Thanks again! :)
Does anyone know how to fix this? The articles I've found in Logic help are from 2011 and don't address the issue. Basically, if I start recording and screw up, I hit the spacebar to stop, and hit cmd-z to undo. The recording disappears, but the playhead doesn't return to the previous starting position. I have to manually move it every time. Does anyone know how to remedy?

Please and thank you :)
Hi All
Getting to grips with logic and music production in general - can anyone suggest a tool or technique where I could see what frequencies are being used by each track?
I thought this may help carve out frequencies to enable instruments to breathe and not clash?
Any thoughts please?
I use studio drummers then substitute producer kits so I can mix the kit myself. I usually leave the drum pieces sounds alone, assuming that the stock instruments are already eq’d. I eq my other tracks around the drums as needed. What do other people do?
I'm just barely utilizing reddit for production/musician related subs and it's been nice to chat with others in the space. Is there a good place to post little clips and ideas? I have posted in musicfeedback and had good interactions, but I'm not sure if there are other subs where it's common for musicians to just post freely without much expectation for feedback, but still welcome any constructive feedback as well. Just like a generally supportive and chill environment that wouldn't feel like you're spamming
the only vsts that do this are all of the drumkits, and the new studio piano and strings. everything else seems to be fine. the issue is usually when i play right at the start of a note. the only solution i seem to have found it when dealing with the instruments listed is to move the playback thingy back a bar or so which usually fixes it. but if i dont do that it sounds all out of wack and its kinda annoying.
any more permanent solutions?
HI there,
I used flex time to check song tempos when I'm writing - grateful it's there.
It seems like once I enable/apply it in a project, it automatically analyzes transients and applies to any thing I record after and it's driving me crazy.
Is there any way to get it stop doing what it thinks I want it to? :-)
Update: Pretty sure I fixed it by selecting 'off' for these:
Hi all, hoping someone can shed some light on something I’ve noticed.
I’ve an older machine running Logic 10.6.3 which has EllyAnna Germ Kit in Alchemy, but I can’t seem to find it on my newer machine running Logic 11.1
Has it been removed? Any way to redownload it?
Thanks
Ive looked all over and it seems like this is a bug that’s been around for a bit, but its so annoying so I was hoping someone could help. I’m automating a track, and every time I zoom into the spot and press play to try and fix something it’ll follow the playhead. I’ve turned the catch setting off, made sure the catch button is off, and it keeps following. It’s getting sooo annoying
Hey, all! Very new user here. I felt like I had everything set up in a good place but I’m now running into an issue where my audio from my Helix seemingly cuts out at random times. For now, I’m using my Line 6 Helix for both input/output. Everything is plugged in correctly and my Helix is powered fine. The only fix is to reset my Helix but that’s a major pain in the middle of a creative spell. Any one run into this issue? Any audio/general settings I might be missing? Are there special drivers I should be downloading? Thanks!
So when I go to record my guitars they sound really quite in my headphones while recording and really quite when I play them back. I didn’t mess with the volume at all on the tracks, they’re set at 0.0db but it sounds like it’s set at -30db. But it only affects my recorded guitar tracks. MP3s that are dragged in there don’t have this issue, when the MP3 tracks are set at -5db it sounds like it. I don’t know if there’s something accidentally turned on or off but something’s making my tracks quieter for some reason. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
