The Meximelt is the only decades menu item I had interest in trying for the first time. Not a tostada person, don't like bean burritos, Gordita just sounds whack to me when I've already had CGC and Chalupas that are at least warmed up or fried instead of just a raw cold flatbread.
The Meximelt was very underwhelming. It was ZERO difference between that and ordering a Cheesy Roll Up add beef and pico, except I paid an extra 59¢ for the Meximelt 🙃 The Meximelt is shown like a taco on the app but it came exactly like the Cheesy Roll Up would. I would much rather have a Chilli Cheese Burrito than a Meximelt. Blessed for my location.
Al Pastor Chicken Cheesey Street Chalupas were not good at all. Maybe I had a bad batch, but the chicken was VERY sweet with almost no hint of spices or seasoning. Also, Cheesey Street Chalupas are a great idea but only if they are guaranteed fresh to order which isn't realistic in a fast food setting. I had better luck with the single large Quesalupas we had before. Scrap the dumb street chalupa two pack gimmick if you can't enforce them to be fresh. Otherwise they are hard, cold, and not a good experience.
I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what but the last 3 times I’ve ordered on the app it’s been like 15min waits for my food. The thing is that it is like an auto time addition rather than the stores being busy. Like nobody in the drive through or lobby and the employees couldn’t be bothered to send early or they told me “we can’t start it till x time” despite doing not much else. Is there a setting to change for like a more immediate pickup, or should I just drive through and redeem receipts at this point
My sister sent me this photo from the DR. Double Decker is a regular menu item.... not to mention the big papa supreme!
Can they just bring it back already!?!
Me and my coworkers have been waiting for the Baja Blast Pie to come out so we can try it.
I’ve been trying to find any information on it since it says that it was coming in November but I haven’t seen any updates or talking about it at all since the new experience started.
Did I miss something?
I got the Tuesday drop but with the chips on the side.
They could have held a vote in conjunction with election day to make one of the decades items a permanent menu item. That would have drawn up interest and got Taco Bell fans talking about the Taco Bell app on all social media platforms trying to get votes for their favorite item.
For example you can get a green burrito for $2.49 all while getting a regular bean burrito minus red sauce add green sauce for $2.09 same exact thing but $0.40 cheaper
Same with the meximelt it’s $2.99 you can get a regular soft taco minus lettuce add pico and it’s $2.14. Just seems like they rip people off for the same stuff to me!
Yeah fuck right off
Usually when they have any kind of box you can swap items, but never the 5 Layer Burrito. I think those things are gross and I usually can't finish them. Why can't I just get a crunchy taco?
Might need clarification from u/tbmobileappteam here but does anybody know from previous experience or internal info whether or not the luxe box with a gordita will count towards the challenge? I've already bought one so I don't know if I need to buy a gordita a la carte or not to complete the objective. Seems silly not to count it but these things function differently all the time. If anybody has any insight I would appreciate it. Thanks
Title sums it up pretty well. Every experience I’ve had, I’ve not been able to check in until about a minute after I roll up and have to interact with the AI, and by then I can’t give my code anymore. And sometimes it won’t get help from a person and I’m stuck in a loop with it asking me what I want to eat. Small rant over
I'd like to preface this by saying that I'm not 100% sure if I should even be posting this. If I get asked to take this down I will. I also for some reason am not able to add an image of the original store, so you'll have to look up what it looks like should you want to see it.
It looks like the retro 1980s Mission Taco Bell you see all over the internet (store #31, opened c. July 3, 1966, 7847 E McDowell Rd) in Scottsdale AZ will close in the near future. This store is best known for still being pretty intact, being one of nine Mission designed Taco Bells still open, the newest remodel was in 1987 when they added the signage you see and the patio. It's essentially the most outdated Taco Bell still in operation. I believe they're currently using that as their base store for the Taco Bell decades thing
While in class today, I discovered this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbmqblaHONc . It shows, among other things, a plot plan and a building render for an address *very* close to #31. The video is from January, and should you click the link in the description, you can see the process is ongoing, and within the next year or two, this historical store will be closed. This lines up with the end of lease, as by 2026, the store will have been open for 60 years. Looking through the site, it looks like the process to close and relocate was in planning as early as 2016.
Should you want to visit the new store when it opens, it will be at 7901 E McDowell Rd in Scottsdale.
P.S. Someone has to call dibs on the signage, they're some of the very last of their kind
I was at Taco Bell having lunch today and watched many people come and go with the mobile order off the rack. Then I heard a commotion, someone was expecting an order that was not on the rack and the employee confirmed it was done about 10 minutes ago and had been taken.
I suspect they would check the video camera to see who took the order and put the person's face on their watch list, and make a new one for the person who lost it. But what are the SOP?
PS I saw an employee fail at making chicken quesadilla, it flopped off the spatula, she caught it between her hand and her leg. She then threw it in the trash and told another to make a new one. I like this place, they won't hide accidental food contamination.
Just saw my location has the new crispy chicken and my God is the spicy ranchero burrito good!!
10/10 would recommend. Hopefully it goes national soon.
Anyone have trouble with the app these last two days? Yesterday I tried ordering the retro items and got an error "forbidden". Today I tried scanning the receipt to get credit and got another error.
First time eating this thing and it’s amazing as all. Wish it was $2 instead of $3 tho…
Now that the nostalgia menu is here, anyone going to get a chicken quesadilla, remove the creamy jalapeno sauce and add the green sauce to make the better quesadilla imo?
