Listener is an American spoken word rock band from Fayetteville, Arkansas. Originally a hip hop project by Dan Smith, who used the moniker "Listener", it soon evolved into a full-fledged rock band. The current lineup consists of Smith as vocalist, trumpeter, and bassist together with guitarist Jon Terrey and drummer Kris Rochelle.

I’d honestly stopped expecting more music from Dan or Levi at this point. I’m pretty sure I’ve personally influenced apple musics top songs for Listener due to chronically enjoying Bloodshot/New Love for years.
I really am so excited for this it’s really made my heart sing
If you didn't see my last post, I found an album on an old iPod that featured Dan Smith on two tracks, which were re-recordings of his songs Seatbelt Hands and Wooden Heart. The album was previously just a CD release at a live show, but I put it on YouTube. The album is a folk/gospel album if anyone is interested in that. Anyway, here's the tracks:
I'd also like to hear what you all think of these versions! They are certainly very different from the originals.
And finally, here's the full album if anyone wants it, but Dan only features on the two songs:
For context, in 2008 (give or take a year) Dan Smith featured on an album where he made stripped-down, lower-energy versions of Seatbelt Hands and Wooden Heart, and as far as I can tell, this was only released as CDs to people who went to a live show. My family had a CD, which we lost, but I just found it on an old iPod we haven't used in years. I haven't been able to find any uploads of this album or any of its songs anywhere, including the Listener songs. I was thinking of putting the songs on either YouTube or Archive or maybe somewhere else if there is interest in it. The album is a gospel folk album, very heavy on Christian themes. If there's interest in that, I can put the whole album up too. If not, I can just put up the two Listener songs.
My husband loves this particular Listener shirt. He's worn it out and to keep it from deteriorating any further, I'm cutting it up to use in a T-shirt quilt. If there's anyone out there who might have this shirt (in better condition) that they'd be willing to part with, I would love to buy it from you! He usually wears a medium but could also wear a large.
Does anyone happen to have the Lister Tour of Homes T-shirt, and if so would you be willing to post pics? I used to have this shirt. It was grey and had print in the upper left corner and possibly on the back...
Why are there no tour dates? 😭
The sub doesn’t seem very active but I didn’t know where else to post, I accidentally purchased two of the limited edition vinyl albums if anyone would like it just hit me up!
Hi, I really love Listener. Is this sub active? I would enjoy knowing other people who also connect with this artist. Wooden Heart had me hooked, but I enjoy a lot of the work.
A little late, I know, but Listener's Adult Swim FishCenter performance totally just made me go buy a copy of their latest album...
Hi I'm wondering if anyone has any idea where I could find a listener band shirt with a tarot design on it with the band name in the borders of the card illustration? Me and my gf were living somewhere and had to leave because the ladys house we worked at was crazy and it got lost in the escape. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had one or if they even just had a pic of it I could use to screenprint another one. It meant a lot to my girlfriend and id really like to be able to replace it for her. Thanks bunches you guys are great
