is there a way to have say my kids on the app on their device and I can see their progress and manage their rewards? maybe even manage them via my app?
I really like the idea of this app, I actually made a spreadsheet that's vaguely similar but this has a way better UI. I used to love Habitica from the HabitRPG days but I'm looking for alternatives and this seems just the ticket, even if it's not as frequently maintained.
Hi,
the subreddit seems to be quite abandoned but maybe someone will find it interesting that we created a subreddit to discuss different approaches to gamifying life. This is because many people in many different apps/tools are designing different working ways to make their life life playing a game but there is no single place where this all could be discussed.
If you are using LifeRPG in an interesting way and you would be willing to share how, please do it, let this techniques get improved and more popularized.
Is there any way to make missions send notifications AFTER they are due? For certain missions I want the app to literally pester me with reminders until I do the mission.
I've downloaded it and have tried it a few times now but I find it nearly impossible to utilize it correctly?
I think my main problem is option overload
Are there only bug fixes or there’s something more?
I’m glad the creator of the app is back! Be sure, you can make a ton of money if you’ll shape this product and offer people a tool that can fix, improve and change their life. I’m ready to pay for it, I used this app for years, and still think this will be my no1 till the end of my days. But, please, don’t transform it in a subscription based shit, like 29.99$ a year or smth like that. Make one time payment. 40$ for life time? Ok, no problem. 60$? Ok, for sure. 100$? Well, that’s a lot, but if it’s worth it, I’ll pay it. But not subscription based. If you’ll make it subscription based, I have the old apk saved in my phone, so I’ll use it 😀.
After years of stop I just find out that there's a new update on the play store from few days ago.
What about you, guys, are you still using LifeRPG?
Can’t wait to try this !
I was inspired to download it but it doesn't look like the community is active :((
Hi all, I've been using LifeRPG, and while I find it better than most of the competition, I still have a few minor gripes, and am considering making a fork of the original to fix them, and wanted to hear the thoughts of others, as well as share my own.
First and foremost, I think it would be nice to have a rigid vs. flexible timing system for recurring tasks. For example, most medicines need to be taken every X hours, but the exact time doesn't matter as much. I would make this a "flexible" timing activity, where the due date/time of the task is based upon when the previous task was completed. This is the current system in use. In comparison, with brushing my teeth, that's something that I need to do twice a day, but the interval isn't as important, and it would be better to just set a specific time for me, so that would be "rigid" timing, where the task's due date/time is constant.
I would also like some form of auto-failing made available, instead of having to mark a task as failed, it does so itself after a certain time, for example, brushing teeth might auto-fail after 6 hours. This would be especially nice for recurring tasks with "rigid" timing.
Something else I would like to see is the ability to set the order of skills on the web graph that it has.
Finally, my last two wanted features go together, I'd like to be able to set a start time instead of just a due date/time, alongside a basic calendar in the app that shows where tasks sit and allows you to make new tasks. These features would be nice, as I recently used the app to remind me that I was getting coffee with a friend, but I wasn't sure how long it would last, so I couldn't set an end time, just a start. Similarly, if you wanted to do something for a set amount of time, this could help, or if you could only do something in a certain window of time.
Those are my thoughts on potential improvements, what would you all like to see?
It's time for a new laptop and this would make the decision easy.
Will this ever happen, I switched over to iOS I've been enjoying it, but the one app I truly miss is LifeRPG. I tried Habitca but the lack of customization is not even worth it.
I've had this app for about a week and I like it a lot, except the fact that I get no sound for notifications. I have a sound selected for every option, and all the internal sounds work (Level Up, etc.) but all the notifications do is buzz. I've tried both a WAV and an MP3. I don't even care if I have to install another app to make this app's notifications work. I'm on a Moto G Play 2021 w/ Android 10, if that helps.
Hi all,
I have been recently beginning my journey into coding. I have been looking for a project to do that interests me, and I re-stumbled on this app. I have been using it more recently and realized that it would be cool to make something like it, but also to maybe introduce some features that I think are missing or improve upon, as the app hasn't been updated in quite some time.
I saw an older post from several months ago about some people who were looking to add to the app if I understand it correctly?
I found the developers git repositories, but don't know if anything can/should be done with them.
Am I looking in the right area?
I had this idea and would really enjoy help to make it happen and could feel like it could be hella fun!!!
Today I opened my app ready to do some work and it will open for one second and then crash. Is this happening to anyone else? I've restarted my phone, force stopped the app, uninstalled and reinstalled but to no avail.
For those still using the app, do you use the consumables feature, and how? Do you consider it different from rewards?
Thanks for your answers :)
I wanted to switch apps but this is too perfect for me, except it's not being updated anymore. Very usable without paying anything, though I would be very willing pay if someone continues to work this app.
The github link from this thread is down and I really wanted to try it.
I'm wanting to add more missions and rewards to my LifeRPG, but I can't think of any good ideas. For some background, I'm a student with 3 dogs and I love video games and crafting. I'm also in the process of trying to lose weight and have high anxiety. There are more things about me clearly, but there's just a small bit to get started with. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
Hi guys -
I’ve been reading about how you guys feel about features in this app. I’m wondering what features you like most, and which you would really like? I’m developing my own app and would like to add in useful things and not useless ones.
Alternatively you can leave feedback at

Right now I have a repeatable parent with "once" tasks. I complete or fail the tasks then check off the parent. The parent then returns the next day with all the tasks back and completable.
The problem is that there is a bug which creates shadow duplicates in the Plan and All tabs. Which is annoying as I can't figure out the trigger.
Anyone here in the community have another idea to circumvent about the bug? I basically need just a nice way to do 10 daily tasks in an organized way.
I'd also like to make like a "Complete a Project" parent which repeats and have inside all the projects I want to do, but once those are done, they are gone forever.
I feel like the solutions are obvious but I have tunnel vision.
PS. I am aware that the dev is gone and that there are other apps elsewhere. I like this app and this bug has been my only gripe.
I was dissapointed to hear this is no longer getting developer support, because it's fantanstic! I did want a custom avatar without paying, so I tried DoitNow and Habitica, but they were far more laggy and specifically Doitnow I found confusing and I don't dig the 8-bit look of Habitica. I found Life RPG to run much smoother and the interface is a nice blend of a modern UI with the fantasy/medieval elements still present in the lovely icons (I do wish there were more though) I love how I have 100% control over eveything, it makes me want to make meaningful quests without feeling under too much pressure to complete them. It adds some fun flavour to my everday life, it doesn't feel like a chore. I think I'll just look for a desktop app to make a 3D avatar and use it with this.
I just discovered LifeRPG and am having way too much fun with this simple app. I'm disappointed to learn it is no longer supported, but I'll probably keep using it anyway. Kudos to the developer!
