LibreWolf is a community version of Mozilla's Gecko based browser - Firefox, with increased protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements.
LibreWolf is a free and open source web browser based on Firefox.
I am not affiliated with the LibreWolf project but decided to start the subreddit for it as it did not exist.

Hi, i need to format my pc, how can i backup my Visited Sites History in LibreWolf?
I went to History > Manage history > Import and Backup > Backup
But this seems to only backup my Bookmarks.
Thanks in advance!
This issue does not occurs when using other browsers like Edge. I have 20GB of RAM and the consumption goes up to 90% when I try to print any page.
No matter if it is MS Print to PDF or Save to PDF, my entire system will freeze. Happens with firefox 131 as well.
Using discord web, after the login screen it seems the Discord's mascott's head is turning forever and not letting me in.
I made an exception in Enhanced Tracking Protection. Disabled uBlock. Disabled Resist Fingerprinting but still no luck.
Everything was working fine. Today the browser started lagging, glitching, loading every single website for toooo long (this page slowing down librewolf notification). Nothing was changed before the problems.
Some extensions don't work properly as well. For example I'm getting error with LeechBlock options. I'm getting massage "Error: Unable to retrieve options from browser storage." Maybe my files are corrupted I don't know.
When I click GlobalSpeed extension nothing appears (normally the extension opens when i click)
Extension problems keep the same in Private mode but I can load all pages including youtube and pages work well . (all extensions enabled with private mode).
I have absolutely 0 problem with edge, pages open instantly. However I like Librewolf and I want to fix the problem and keep going.
Right now I'm trying to solve youtube infinite loading screen.
I tried disabling hardware acceleration and running with troubleshooting mode but nothing changed. I'm sure it has nothing with extensions because the problem continues after getting rid of all the extensions.
This happens when I open a video from external link.
Here is what I'm asking help for : Youtube loading issue , broken websites and extension problem.
I have read that HDR is supported in normal Firefox, however, it appears to be not supported in Librewolf. Is it possible to enable HDR?
I just updated to the fresh Sequoia 15.1 update on my Mac and I cannot open Librewolf - there’s an error saying that the dock has no permission to open the app “null”.
I changed the chmod permissions to both 755 and 777 and also checked it manually to set it to read and write, no success. Reboot and reinstall with brew - also no success.
Browser version is the current one - 131.0.3-1
Does anyone have a solution?
loving the browser so far however the fade to black when entering fullscreen is annoying. is there a way to get rid of it?
I was looking for a solution to the problem, but it's stay unsolve. Maybe any advice?
p.s.
It can play first 10 seconds than sound disapered
How does light mode instead dark help privacy?
Hiya Ive been running into a problem where i cant seem to play videos on the browser and i don't know why, could someone help, ill provide photos if needed
Using Windows 10
Regular mode, private mode, shortcut modifications - no difference
I recently changed my search engine to 4get.ch because i liked its web scraping capabilities, but now every time i search for something in the address bar or on my start page, it just opens up the 4get.ch start page without my search. So i was wondering if i could either integrate 4get.ch into my start page and address bar or if i could make the new tab site 4get.ch instead of the default librewolf start page.
I can't globally disable the Enhanced Tracking Protection, all links point to FF documentation, while there is a post from 2 years ago stating by the devs that:
"strict mode is actually the only mode that makes sense, for a number of reasons.
there's nothing to gain in custom mode honestly, the other
cookie settings would disable dFPI which means turning off isolation in
the browser."
This 'strict mode' until disabled wont let you disable the ETP and so the option as present in FF does not exist. Whole thing is hilarious coming from software that praises user interests/control. But coming back to the issue- you should either stop linking irrelevant docs, or add all options stated in said docs.
Location permissions are useless. All banking and other websites that require location access fail.
about:support > Mozilla/Google Location Service Key both missing
Even a fresh install of Librewolf still fails. It works in Mozilla btw. How can I fix this?
Edit: SOLVED thanks to u/sys-256 :
https://www.alphr.com/change-location-firefox/
Well, it solved the problem for me I mean websites asking for location access will now log you in if you do this, but , about:support , still shows location service keys : missing ..... but sh-t just works now
I saw something weird on my nextcloud interface, when I go to my calendar the hours are all shifted. I'm currently in UTC+2 and I guess the 2h shift I see is coming from librewolf trying to force UTC at some point, is there some hidden setting or maybe add-on that could interfere with that ? No plugin I installed is different from my firefox setup where things are okay so I highly suspect the browser itself.
.
On MacOS and I had the permission request window come up saying LibreWolf wants to access information about what devices are connected to my local network. Why? Posting to see if anyone has an idea why or an explanation as well as to publicise because it seems like potentially indicates a security compromise.
Is there a way to enable fingerprinting while disabling the 'timezone' related setting, or adding exceptions for a few specific sites, such as Todoist, Gmail, and Google Drive?
I tried the Spoof Timezone extension, but it's been hit-or-miss.
This preference was disabled by default in the older LibreWolf versions. It became enabled by default in the recent versions of the browser. I asked about it here in the past and was told that it's not effective anyways so I decided to keep it disabled. now that LibreWolf enables it by default, Should I disable it like I used to do or keep it enabled?
I installed ARM version of LibreWolf on Macbook M1 Pro Max using the link below. However, I'm unable to launch the app. Is there a solution?
I already have software I use for recording, and for screenshots my shortcut is ctrl+shift+s; the same shortcut LW uses. The screenshot overlay appears before my screen capture software can get what I need. I'd prefer to use my software though. Is there a way I can change/disable the shortcut?
they're just gonna patch into oblivion right?
Is there a way that I can enable VSync in LibreWolf without disabling or messing up any of the privacy settings turned on/disabled in LibreWolf? I assume that the reason VSync is disabled is to reduce fingerprinting.
Sorry if this sounds like a really stupid question I was just curious.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Librewolf triggers this on multiple sites. How the fuck are you supposed to press and hold on an actual PC??? I fucking hate the internet.
