Re-watched this one after many years.
As a kid it was my favourite out of the first 4 "movies". I always liked Rutger Hauer from his various film roles so it was great to see him in this.
This episode was very creepy. The desolate planet with that ominous orange/red sky, the surface littered in garbage and debris, it had "Danger" written all over it.
The structure/tower had a very creepy vibe about it too, and when I was a kid I was spooked by the silhouette walking past the window.
One thing I noticed this time is how attractive the actress who played Wist is. She looked amazing in this.
My favourite part is when Kai finds the video recording and you get a glimpse of the planet's past.
The ending sequence is crazy. Sure the CGI is very dated now but the makers of Lexx sure were ambitious when it came to telling stories.
Overall I love this episode because of the dark nature of the planet and the desperate situation the crew find themselves in where they are in danger of a fate worse than death. This is exactly the kind of horror that you would expect to find in "The Dark Zone"
8/10
I watched Lexx series long time ago. That one with several seasons. And there was an episode when the whole Lexx crew comes to Earth and Kai was bored and began to play Brunnen G anthem, "Yo-a-yo" on the piano. Then he even gathered a small music group and they played this thing on a small stage. Can't remember season and episode number.
I just watched this one for the first time in years. So here are my thoughts;
I remember liking it years ago because it's the first episode the crew are free from the Cluster and go out and explore the universe for the first time. I liked that sense of wonder, where will they go?
The shower scene is still unreal
The soundtrack for this show is really underrated, it really adds to the sense of wonder and mystery
Poet Man seems to be a pre-recorded hologram but it seems like he sometimes reacts to the crew?
The Part where Stan and Giggerota keep disconnecting and reconnecting the stabilisers seems to go on forever
I still love the part at the end where the planet communicates with them before going Super Nova
7/10
What are yours thoughts on this episode?
Yup, pretty much as the title goes, my family named me Zev, after, well, Zev. Sharing this with the only group of people who won't say "oh that's unusual, what does it mean?"
Currently rewatching the show and I was wondering if the creators or anyone who was involved with the show ever published some sort of layout or map of the Lexx?
I've not long got to one of my favourite episodes Norb and listening to the Lexx list all the areas effected by Mantrid made me think about the layout.
I'm guessing that they kept it intentionally vague and used the Lexx's growth as an excuse to change up sequences when it suited them.
Hey everyone. I'll just say real quick that I am an OG fan of LEXX since it was new and am currently an artistic AI hobbyist (with a CompSci and Music education)
So, considering the way things are going with AI, I believe that in the next few years AI reboots/continuations will be common.....
so lets start a thread.... How should the show be continued?
I'm watching Lexx from the beginning after many, many years. My thoughts on watching this first episode again is that visually it still holds up well for something that came out in 1996.
I also liked the way that we are led to believe that Thodin was going to be the main hero of this story. For it to go in a completely different direction and for him to die in the first episode, leaving the dead assassin to join the group was an indication that this show was going to be very different from the usual sci-fi we were used to seeing.
What are you thoughts on this episode?
I have a 10 year old cat that I named Zev Bellringer when she was born. Yesterday, for the first time ever, someone recognized the name! I was so excited that finally it was recognized and i didn't have to explain where it came from for once.
Valdron's book on Lexx says that there was some CD-ROM ( NOT a music CD-ROM) released a long time ago, but no details. Does anyone know what this CD-ROM about Lexx could have been?
Does this exist? Has anyone seen it?

Lol. Everytime I see RFK jr talk it reminds me of episode 3. Who is in control? Him or the worm? 🤣
Thinking about how Lykka is literally the woman of Stan's dreams, yet is smooth round the bend. I am definitely overthinking this, but I occurs to me that if she is smooth round the bend then that is what Stanley truly desires. A girlfriend who he can love, emotionally and mentally, without the distraction or hyperfixation of sex. A woman that forces him to set aside his libido and love from the heart instead of the loins. His superego contradicting his id, causing conflict and forcing character development.
Is the subplot of Stan and Lykka a materpiece of the libidinal vs asexual battle royale for our age?
I generally try to stop myself from over analyzing Lexx. I think that its a show that is best enjoyed as an enthusiastically shallow joyride of eye candy and pulpy awesomeness. But Ive been fixed on this thought of Stan and Lykka this morning while sipping my coffee, so what the heck.... Might as well indulge the existential fart sniffing that most scifi requests of us today.
do you prefer the first Xev actress or the second?
I honesty prefer the first Xev. I thought she was prettier and a better actress, even though she was only on Lexx for a relatively short time period
I wish someone recorded the most recent Wintercon panel, from last year. Oh well…
There were lots of famous guest stars on LEXX. All of them gave good performances. Which was you favorite and why?
Finally made it through this series and it's one of the best I've ever watched. If I was introduced to this as a child I would probably feel the same way about it that I do about something like Smallville.
The best clean quality I found was this

which comes from this reddit post

Is there a long clean version of it around somewhere? Or maybe an original version which is derived to be Brunnen G Song from it?
PS: I am at season 2 and I still don't like the show btw, I can't believe this show got 4 seasons and Firefly was canceled without a second one.
Edit: These are the other versions. It is up to you deciding which one is the best one.

I’m making a bard for my next D&D campaign and I want to be able to play the chords from the Time Prophet song but I can’t seem to find sheet music anywhere.
Does anyone know what folk song it was based on? I’m sure I could probably figure it out from there.
My character is going to be repeatedly singing it with altered lyrics.
So I've found those posts about moulding a 790 head, but apparently noone made a 3D model of it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Lexx/s/z6wUCTJqg0

Does anybody know something more about it? I'm sure a 3D model would be much appreciated by a lot of people.
