Any pet food banks in Lexington?
Hello! Does anyone know if there is a pet food bank in Lexington?
We desperately need wet food and litter. We are currently fostering and trying to find this sweet boy a home! He’s a male tuxedo, around 4-5 months old. Super sweet and affectionate! We found him in a parking lot a little bit over a week ago.
I’m not able to keep him, as I am really struggling financially and living with my sister whose house is full. I can’t afford wet food for him, which male cats really need. He is currently living in a large dog cage because my cat does not approve whatsoever, and he needs more room. I don’t want to take him to a shelter, but getting to a point where I’m not sure what else to do.
I'm a social media manger and real estate photographer in Lexington and I'm looking to contract out a videographer. My business is starting to expand and I want to start offering high quality listing videos for IG reels, Facebook reels, etc.
Attaching a link for reference of the type of editing I want to go for. I know it's a lot of speed ramping but it's the ideal type of content realtors like nowadays 🤷🏽♀️ (https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cxn3b05uDhs/?igsh=MXN6c2Y0a2ltN3RybA==)
Message me if you or anyone you know may be interested! Thank you!!
Anyone near downtown wanna help us raid a Lugia? Much appreciated! Let us know. It’s just me and one other person currently
Im looking to learn how to draw, and am hoping someone knows of drawing classes in the area. Any help is appreciated-thanks!
i’m just nosy, was trying to get through to get onto harrodsburg but they have half of it blocked off. anyone know anything?
We have American Water and just started having sputtering in all of our faucets about two hours ago. At times, the sputtering is so bad that the water flow completely stops for a few seconds. It seems like there is air in our water line. I called American Water and they couldn't tell me if anyone else had reported this issue in the area. They said they are sending someone out, but couldn't tell me when they would be here tonight. It would be nice to just get an answer of some kind.
Anyone else having issues in the area?
Does anyone with peanut allergies have problems living in lexington or being near the factory?
Would you be interested in attending a 1 hour presentation on tenant rights in Lexington as presented by a practicing attorney?
I am not an attorney. This is not self-promotion.
Hey Lexington!
Let’s cut to the chase—I want to start a BattleBots team
I’ve been passionate about combat robotics since college. We even held a collegiate bracket as a final one semester (not to brag, our team won insert graceful hair flip). I’m an experienced engineer in the automotive and industrial robotics field, so I have significant hands-on experience, plus a general love for all things BattleBots. (Robot Wars is cool too, but let’s be real—BattleBots has my heart)
I've tried rallying my work team for this, and they’re on board in spirit. My workplace would even help sponsor us with materials, shop access, and maybe some financial support. But with our busy schedules, we just don’t have enough time to pull it off on the clock.
So, I’m branching out and looking to start a dedicated team outside of work. I’m hoping to find folks in the Lexington area who share this passion and want to get in the arena with me. Whether you have experience in robotics, engineering, design, or are just excited to learn and build, I’d love to hear from you!
Let’s build something amazing together and see how far we can take it.
Asking before I waste time.
So I’ve always been deeply interested in other cultures and have friends from many different nations. I’d like to expand my exposure to fellow residents from the Middle East, Southeastern Europe, South Americans, Afrikaners and Asians. Does anyone know a good way (community events, neighborhood associations, or other social events around Lex to expand my knowledge and exposure to these communities and/or individuals?
Does anyone know of an agencies or organizations that can fairly quickly see a person in semi-crisis? The person is vulnerable and suffering a lot of verbal abuse at the moment from the father of her infant, who she raises and provides for completely on her own. For those of us who've been through it, we know how exhausting and overwhelming little ones can be when we ourselves are so depleted from exhaustion and 24/7 caring for another human.
She does have private health insurance right now but I'm guessing it might take her too long to see someone; she could definitely not pay out of pocket unless it is a generous sliding scale.
Reaching out to the community to see if anyone has any resources, therapists, etc. that she may be able to connect with in the next week or so. The only other option I could think of was to go to the ER but I think that would be an absolute last resort given her situation (she is under immense stress but is not at a stage of wanting to hurt herself or her baby).
Any ideas would be so appreciated. xx
Hey yall… any advice on spots that offer affordable eye exams out of pocket? I don’t currently have insurance, but it turns out that I use my eyes an awful lot. Like… pretty much every day! My wife used to know of a spot over on Malabu for this but they have since closed.
Thanks for any info you can share. Go Cats!
I found some expensive headphones at a park. How can I find the owner? Is there a lost and found for items left at parks?
Hey y'all I was looking into long term storage units and it looks like Storage Sense has the best prices that I can find ($35 a month for 5x10, climate controlled, elevator access) but I'm curious about the price increases. Most places will say "5% increase every year", but the lady on the phone told me she didn't know. She said "it increases every 6 months. I've seen $10 increases and $80 increases, but unfortunately I just don't know". Which seems shady af. Does anybody have any experience with this? Do you have any better recommendations? Thanks!
I have not had my hair cut in a couple of years. It's time to get it trimmed up. I'm wanting a classic 70s look. Any recommendations?
Hi! We live just in Louisville but kids have been asking for a little weekend “getaway” and thinking of Lexington. Not totally new to Lexington but could use some ideas to fill a Friday evening and Saturday this weekend. It looks like Saturday may be nice-ish out so will likely go to Arboretum. Any other ideas? I’ve heard the science museum is pretty small compared to the one here and we already go to ours a lot so I’m wondering if we should skip that. Is Explorium too young for our 7.5 year old? Any holiday things going on? Open to any and all suggestions of all kinds. Thank you!!
Hi! Anyone know of trails or viewing points around Lexington (can be a bit of drive) that allow nighttime hikes.
I’m wanting to see the full moon on Friday night. I tried McConnell’s springs (their moon hike is full) and raven run but they close at 4p.
Mid Thirties and struggling to break out of routine. I’m going to work, go to the gym or work out at home then eat and sleep and so it all over again. I’m not really sure what to do about finding like minded people to build a community with or just simply friends. I feel like I’m pretty well rounded and enjoy hiking and the outside just as much as staying inside and watching a movie and playing a game. I honestly just feel like I’m floating through life and I feel this spark inside me that desperately wants out but I don’t know how to stoke the flames to reach my potential to be a better overall person. Any help would be appreciated.
For the sake of brevity, I'll just say that I need a few days away from normalcy. I don't mind driving 2 or even 3 hours away, not much further though. Ideally, I'll end up somewhere in or close to nature. That, and/or a place with a few cool attractions. The less busy the better, so please not Gatlinburg lol. Where do you like to run off to? Or, where do you wish you had time to run off to?
Like the title says, the Eagle Creek Writer's Group will be meeting tonight at 6:30 at the Richmond Road Panera (in the same parking lot as Lowes). We'll discuss each other's writing, do some reading, and discussing our work. If you're curious about coming down, please feel free to PM me or comment on this post - we meet weekly on Wednesdays and are open to all skill levels and disciplines!
That is all. Hope everyone is having a lovely night.
What are some fun and affordable things to do for two teen girls in Lexington?
Moved here about a year ago from Las Vegas. Still looking for some good places to shop that are affordable besides Ross and such? Any locals have any recommendations or go to spots they’re willing to share? 🙌💯 all input welcome ( wondering if anyone knows any good bins or thrift stores too near Lexington and Georgetown )
Are Street Trees required in the city? I've lived in my new construction house for 2 years. I came home from work today and there were trees (that look half dead) now planted on my street in the easement between the sidewalk and street. The developer of the street has said they didn't put them there. So I'm trying to figure out where these new trees came from.
All I can find are ordinances and permit requirements for removing trees or planting trees. But nothing about requiring trees.
The November meeting is just a little over a week away!
At 5:30pm, come hang at the North Side branch of the Lexington Public Library where we’ll be chatting it up about Stephen King’s NIGHT SHIFT!
Then, at 7:00pm, at Rockhouse Brewing, we’ll be watching Maximum Overdrive (directed by Stephen King and based on his short story TRUCKS) and continuing the book talk.
Everyone 18 years and up are welcome to attend and join our group of King-lovin’ lunatics.
Long days and pleasant nights!
Hello! My friend and I are taking a roadtrip and we will be passing through Lexington and I was wondering if they're are any really cool/obscure roadside attractions or historical landmarks in or around Lexington that we could check out? I'm open to all ideas!
