I'm looking for a book

Gosh, this is a long shot but I'm looking for fantasy enemies-to-lovers book, I remember one of the protagonists is masculine and the other woman is a femine person of color who is a princess. I'm not sure much else besides that since I only remember seeing some fan art based on the book.

Edit: Someone found it for me! It was The Ones We Burn by Rebecca Mix, thank you for your guy's help!

Monster MCs?

Does anyone happen to know some good books where the MC or her love interest (or both) are monsters in some way? I've just finished reading The One Who Eats Monsters (MC is a vengeful goddess that eats rapists and murderers) twice in a row and I'm hungry for more of the same or at least similar, although I'd also take more physically monstrous MCs. Another long-standing favorite of mine is Vigor Mortis (MC is a necromancer and has a biomancer girlfriend, both change into monsters over time)

Bonus points if they are a bit more on the bad side, not just some superficial thing making them not-human.

Can anyone suggest some romance novels set in the 1980s?

Hi everyone! Was hoping someone out there could help me find a book or two about lesbian/sapphic romance that just so happen to be set during the 1980s or 1990s? I know it's a weird ask, but I found myself craving something along these lines. It can be YA too, any recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

Favorite Ruby Roe book?

She has said the books don’t need to be read in order, what is your favorite? Game of hearts and heists is the first but others look like they may be more interesting 🤔

Japanese Lesbian Novels?

I went to Japan recently with my girlfriend and was struck by how lesbian lives are probably so different there. Have any lesbians novels been translated from Japanese? Not looking for manga or books about the Japanese-American experience. Thank-you!

A Long Time Dead

I really loved " A Long Time Dead" by Samara Breger but I never really hear anyone else talking about it. Has anything else read it? What were your thoughts?

Romance where the main character is not a good person?

I like a happy ending, I really do. Life has left me a bit jaded though and I have a hard time identifying with what seems to be the typical "soft lawful good" type main characters who kind of waffle around swept along by everything until it works out for them. I'm not looking for, like, axe murderers or tragic/misery stuff, but rather just some antagonism, drama, selfishness, and/or a hostile environment. I want to read something like Carmilla, except as a more explicit romance with a happy ending. Maybe something like Mean Girls with a sapphic twist. I want the bad girl to win. I'm open to different genres but would prefer writing on the stronger side, no YA. Any recommendations?

Books similar to better left buried

I need rec of books similar to the mothers ( Katy and Langley) relationship. I have reread scenes there in together ( to many times to count) and I need something with their vibes.

Looking for:

  • “you left, you stayed”
  • close friends/ friends growing up
  • tense atmosphere
  • friends to strangers to lovers ( I’ll take friends to enemies to lovers as well)
  • Older FMCS ( over 23)
  • spicyyy ( if there’s none I don’t mind either, as long as there’s yearning)

Missing Kiran Millwood Hargrave

y'all... I love all her books and I google whether she's writing anything new like once per quarter... Any recommendations for something to fill the hole in my heart?

I'm not necessarily looking for plot similarity, but something with a similar quality of writing and that kind of historically grounded feminist energy... idk folks she's not dead but I sure do miss her

Hanukkah Books?

Kind of getting frustrated with all "holiday" sapphic books just being Christmas.

Any hannukah romance recommendations? Or Jewish winter time books in general?

Would also appreciate any winter time book recommendations that aren't Christian or Jewish but another religion!

Tragic endings please

Hiii can I get recommendations with books that has the “right person, wrong time” trope or really any ending where they don’t end up together but you can tell they deeply loved each other. Preferably adult but YA recs are fine too. My one absolutely no is the reason they broke up CANNOT be because of a man.

Which words do you prefer the most when describing body parts in sex scene?

Hi guys! I couldn't find a post about this, so I hope it's okay if I post my own!

I'm writing a sex scene in my sapphic dark fantasy, and I know we all have all kinds of words we hate to see used when describing naughty bits, so please let me know which words do you prefer seeing instead! This can be for the vagina, clitoris, nipples, butt, anus, and anything else you can think of!

Thank you! <3

Books similar to "She's the Man" ?

I recently watched the movie made in 2006, and I was wondering if there are any similar books like "She's the man" where Sebastian (Viola) and Olivia end up together?

First Person mystery/thriller

I would love a series or novel to read, unfortunately i really dislike any other point of view. Preferably set somewhere between 1985-2015, would be amazing if theres a “dirty/corrupt cop” trope. But im thankful for all and ANY recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Anyone know where to buy Hearing Red by Nicole Maser?

The reviews I've heard about it say its a good read, yet I cant find anywhere that sells a physical copy. Amazon says its unavailable in paperback/hardback. I checked easons and blackwells and neither have it.

Its a long shot but I was wondering if anyone knew where to buy a physical copy of it? Or is it only available on kindle?

First vs Third POV

Hey guys, I was curious about how many of y’all prefer first pov over third pov? I’ve noticed that third person seems to be more commonly in lesbian fiction but I’m the kind of person who just happens to prefer first and was curious! I liked the first person POV in Contract Bound lol. Did this happen to come from overarching preferences? Do y’all also prefer third POV over first? :)

Looking for oddly specific stories like Crier's War

So last weekend I started Crier's War and became so obsessed that I read both novels in the duology in that one weekend—I think they're now my favorite novels of all time. Ever since, I've been trying to find sapphic stories that hook me like Crier's War did, but I can't seem to find novels that tick all the boxes, so I'm hoping for some recommendations! I'll go through my criteria from most important to least.

The most important part is that the story has to have female protagonists who fall in love, obviously. But I'm also only interested in stories where the couple stays happily together at the end.

Besides this, what really captivated me about Crier's War was Crier as a character. Her being an automae made her discover all these human aspects which were new to her, and she ended up often questioning or finding enjoyment in mundane things, in a way that made her very autistic-coded. As an autistic person I related a lot to her on many levels, and I'm not sure if another story has a character like this.

Next, I love the enemies to lovers trope in Crier's War, as well as their power dynamic of noble rich automae princess who was made to be perfect and superior in every way and poor human girl who has flaws and becomes her servant. Them being two different species and having the experiences of discovering how the other's body and mind work and feel was also awesome.

One thing I didn't like too much about Crier's War and would prefer to see more of is the characters actually live their life together after becoming a couple. Whether this is in the form of a long epilogue or the romance blossoming halfway through the story, whatever. Just not a fan of a story concluding with the main romance just starting, to me that's only half of the romance story.

Finally I really like fantasy and sci-fi stories that ideally also have some explicit scenes, but this isn't very important.

I know this is extremely specific and I doubt anyone will be able to actually provide something that fits this fully, but I'd appreciate any recommendations that somewhat fit!

Any romance books where both women are actually looking to date?

I feel like I have never read one where both of the characters are actually wanting to date. Basically both women are seeking out a partner, and it's not one where one woman is willing and the other just want to be friends.

Sorry y'all I am bad at explaining stuff.

Looking for spicy sapphic books (esp audiobooks) written in either Spanish, Portuguese, or French. Translations are okay, but I’d prefer them to originally be in these languages.

Thriller Books

Friend and I toss book recs back and forth, she's been giving me thriller books, which I like the concept of. I've read Verity and The Cowoker, but I think I'd like them more if there was lesbian rep in them. Any recs?
