Has anyone ever seen this before I’ve never seen her when playing back then until now. She has to have some importance in the environment story telling
I'm looking for 2 adult players to join me and another individual; my wife, to play the L4D1 campaign on PC/Steam some time in the near future.
Over time I've slowly gotten her into gaming. Started off with farming sims, retro games, dabbled a bit of CSGO with bots and myself, etc and she wanted to play a horror game she could only remember the iconic Witch from. I showed her L4D and she affirmed that was what she remembered.
I've put countless hours into this game but she's just starting out here. I'd like to try to replicate everyone's initial experience back in '08 and to let my wife feel that sensation of genuine teamwork, fun bickering and panic when the hordes and tanks spawn in. Things like racing through the campaign, one-shotting the witch, using well-known camping spots during the finale, I'd like to avoid those to let my wife come up with her own ideas or to work as a team to figure out what to do next or how to proceed. Basically, I'm asking for whoever joins to play as if they've never played this before and to kinda act like secret guards for her. If asked, you can admit you've played and beaten the game before, but maybe tone down how much of a pro you are. Hopefully what I'm asking is making sense here.
Like I said earlier, I'd like to find people, adults really (we're mid-30's with a kid) who are dedicated to playing so she can get familiar with the other players and be reliable enough to stick around unless something like an emergency happens. We won't be blasting through the campaign in a single night and may even play a single level per night when available (probably weekends only), as we have a 2 year old who will wake up in the middle of the night so pauses may occasionally occur.
Also we have mics, so if you have 'em as well you're more than welcome to chat with us! We're in the Central Time Zone for reference.
Reply back if interested and thank you!
After downloading companies from the workshop, they are not displayed in the game

So I have been playing Left 4 Dead most of my life, and it has been the first zombie game I have ever played. But one thing I noticed is how we console players are being scammed. For the pc players of Left 4 Dead, you get all the dlc campaigns completely for free. But for us console players, we have to pay 7 dollars for each dlc campaign. We even have to pay 7 dollars for Crash Course, which is a 2 chapter campaign which is complete bs to me that we have to pay 7 dollars for it. How is it fair that we have to pay for the dlc campaigns but pc players don't have to pay for them at all. I'm guessing Valve is doing this just to get some more money out of the console players. I know people have known about this for a while, but why is Valve doing this.
For some reason , some mods crashes my pc and gives me blue screen. I am not going to ask for a fix, but I need to ask something...
When I delete mods, I delete them in a group so I dont know what type of mods crashes my pc. Only thing I know is that graphic mods but for some reason some gun mods crashes to...
Is there any way for me to know which mods will crash my pc before downloading?
I reinstaled the game just for nostalgia and maybe cuz "I still have something to prove" But the mods doesn't work and when i go to check in the properties of the game and i see this.
Is there a way to fix it?
I had 2 costumes this year and i did ellis at a punk show in my city. see if you can find me!
not sure how everyone can type and send messages, is there something I need to do to enable it?
I know the xbox store is closed but is there absolutely no way i can get the dlc. Is there like a deluxe bundle I can but for l4d2 and it comes with a code or a disc to get the dlc
Our cat would have been Nick, but it was way too cold for him to be out in a carrier!
Does anyone else feel that Valve's games can get exhaustingly repetitive?
I’ve been thinking about how many of Valve’s titles, especially Left 4 Dead and Half-Life, tend to stick to the same core enemies and weapons from start to finish. Sure, each map in Left 4 Dead has its own story, but the gameplay still feels like playing the same thing over and over—same zombies, same weapons, with little to no real progression or change. No evolving tools or different enemy dynamics, just… rinse and repeat.
With Half-Life, there’s a bit more variety in Half-Life 2, with some new weapons and the iconic Gravity Gun that made combat more dynamic. Combine soldiers change slightly in appearance, but not much else. The gameplay formula still stays the same, and after a while, it feels like a loop—like we’re just repeating the same experience across new backdrops, all under the label of “new story.”
It seems like Valve really focuses on polished mechanics and atmosphere, but sometimes that comes at the cost of adding variety and progression. The AI Director in Left 4 Dead is a cool feature, but it doesn’t change the core issue—you’re still just doing the same thing repeatedly. I get that Valve wants players to master a smaller set of mechanics, but would it really hurt to have some progression in enemy types or weapon upgrades?
Anyone else feel like Valve’s approach to “replayability” can actually make these games feel repetitive or exhausting over time instead of engaging? Or is it just me?
Didn't want to try public versus because I heard people were toxic, I said screw it it's probably over exaggerated. I was in this game for less than a minute as a smoker lol
just baught both the games so fucking excited for it
I have next to 4k hours in this game and am obsessed with its design process, does anyone have any insight as to if the developers intentionally made it so that the Witch could be one shot? I feel like the Witch conceptually is supposed to be an X factor that forces teammates to coordinate by either avoidance or a group take down, but when you can run through Hard Rain folding Witches with a shotgun I cant see why you wouldnt especially on higher difficulty. Was this damage considered as a way to reward risky/knowledgeable players or to prevent roadblocking a player with a random spawn, or was this incidentally added just by nature of the shotgun damage ratios
Thinking about buying the bundle on steam for $2.18 not sure i I should though since my pc apparently sucks so uhh here’s the specs
I don't do online games and or shooters but this shit looked awesome and it feels great to play going through the campaign with the bots. But Im noticing a trend of me doing a lot of missing and getting down multiple times a level. Question is y'all got any tips to not consistently being bad, and or good enough to at least try to dip my toes into online. I mean I did play borderlands 2 a couple times but I wasn't so hot on that one so skill issue is definitely a probable cause but I seem to always be kinda bad. maybe some online resources to getting better?
I have this phenomenon I'm gonna call "Schrodinger's Addons" where when I switched computers, all my addons transferred over, but in this weird state where they don't and do exist at the same time. Upon start up they take a long time to all download again, but when I try and use them, they disappear and never show in game. This also prevents me from downloading new ones, and even uninstalling them through Steam. How do I completely delete these?
I have a plan to make new story with new characters but I dont want them to be poor quality. I want to use real faces but I dont know the procress İf somone knows that, can you tell me?
Im a pc player and im trying to get the survival all maps gold achievement, i can you help you too if you need help.
