Hello! My name is Kay (she/her) and I am 24. I moved out here a bit over a year ago to live with my partner but things have been going poorly and I need to find somewhere to move to. If anybody in the area has a room for rent or a suggestion of good places to look for somewhere to rent please let me know! If you have any questions please feel free to comment or message me I am happy to tell you anything you would like to know about me. My budget is about $700 per month.
Having a hard time finding the best place to have our afterparty in March. Would love live music and sectioned off area without having a 5k spend minimum. Curious any suggestions. Also is it easy to get Ubers on Leesburg on a Saturday night around 11pm and onward??
So I’ve been looking to open a poke bowl restaurant somewhere and Leesburg seems like a good location. I wonder what’s the demography like over there?
Are there courts or a group that meets to play pickleball? Just moved to the Leesburg area and looking for some casual pickleball before I get back into tennis in the spring. Fine playing singles or doubles
I am looking for home poker games. I am 21 but I have been playing cash online for the past three years and I have a lot of experience. If there are any in person .5/1 or 1/2 games please let me know!
Did anyone go last night, or going tonight? How was it?
Hopefully this is okay to post - I wanted to share a virtual volunteer opportunity to help 240+ nonprofits in the Leesburg area/Loudoun county through an online crowdsourcing project.
We're looking for folks to review the online profiles of local nonprofits on volunteer recruitment websites, checking to make sure their contact information is up-to-date and the profiles have engaging photos. Helping these nonprofits makes it a lot easier for them to connect with local volunteers. The work is 100% virtual and can be done on your own time.
You can sign up here if interested!
Full disclosure: I work Inspiring Service, the organization that is coordinating this effort. We're a national nonprofit that is working to help foster volunteerism. Happy to provide more info.
What is being built behind the Giant shopping center on Catoctin circle? I noticed they cleared a large space back there.
My husband and I are new to Leesburg. He’s been talking about wanting to find people to jam with. He loves his music and is missing getting to share that with others. I’ll listen, but I don’t play myself so it’s not like he can discuss it much with me. He’s in his early 30’d and plays the guitar (electric and acoustic) and the bass. Feel free to comment or message! (Only I have Reddit, hence making the post.)
We’re looking to hire someone to come out and update our deck to composite boards and replace railings, any recommendations for the area? It’s a small deck for a townhouse. Thanks in advance!
Did anyone else hear a loud mechanical engine sound at 2 AM? It sounded like someone was using a gas-powered lawnmower or blower, but it could’ve been a small plane or drone. Lasted almost half an hour.
Anyone know what's going on? Heavy police presence and the parking lot is being taped off.
That’s it, that’s the whole post. I just miss eating at Chen’s garden. Their chicken lo mein is to die for!!
I’m kinda new to the community. First generation Mexican-American looking for some good Mexican food. I’m talking about Menudo, carnitas tacos (with the skin), tacos de lengua y carne asada, Caldo de Rez, Sopes, chile relleno…I’m away from all of my family and I just need a bit of home. I used to have access to all of the Mexican cuisine before I came to this state but now it seems like I can’t find a Mexican in the wild lol. No hate just hope🙏
Does anyone know of any good pediatrics that take new patients without insurance?
I don't think it is top soil. And, I don't think it is just plain compost.
What is it and where do I get it?
I’m looking to have people come out for a design consult for our kitchen pantry. We tried Home Depot and it was a waste of time, the designer was terrible. I’ve also talked to The Container Store just to see what they’d say but am not sold on their price point yet.
Any other companies to look in to that you thought were priced fair and did great work?
My husband and I just drove into Leesburg from the east on the 7. Major accident just outside of town, three ambulances were there. Anyone know what happened?
Hey Leesburg! I'm looking for inputs for holding a small memorial service for a veteran in or around the Leesburg area. Here are the "constraints":
Bonus:
If anyone knows where I can outsource either a small military gun salute or flagfolder that would be amazing!
Feel free to ask questions, I'm actively monitoring my notifications :)
Where are the best local places to catch some live reggae and/or Soca?
Hi everyone! I hope this is the right place to ask. I’ll be visiting Leesburg at the end of October to attend a wedding at a nearby winery, and I was hoping to get some insight on the weather that time of year. The wedding is in the evening at 6pm.
I’m coming from Australia and I want to make sure I’ve packed appropriately!
Historical weather sites shows a temp range of 68-50F, but sometimes it can feel colder due to wind and humidity etc. I was planning to wear a wool shawl with my dress, but want to know if I should allow for something much warmer? Any advice would be great, thanks! 🦘
Hey all, looking for a recommendation on HVAC tech or company. I've not had great luck with ARS, FH Furr, M&Sons.
Thanks in advance!
Hi! Like the title says, I'm a soon to be new Leesburg resident and I want to know some great places to visit or things to do around here. I'm in my early 20s and definitely into exploring the area! I'm definitely planning on visiting the local bookshops in downtown (forgot their names lol- the one's a plant store as well + the other is secondhand books), and I'm super interested in visiting the local coffee shops too. I also adore the franklin park arts center in Purcellville, but are there any other local places you guys would reccomend to someone new to the area? I'd say Ashburn and Purcellville count too, since they're only like a 20m drive from Leesburg, but anything is good. Thanks!
Taste of Leesburg was this weekend and my brother and I were hanging out at Tarbenders on Saturday night. I’ve been told by several people that very attractive young lady wearing a peach colored dress was winking at me, and I was too too oblivious to notice it. I think at one point I saw her looking at me with a strange look, and I looked away, not thinking anything of it, but I was told late later in the evening that she continue to come around the corner to look for me and I didn’t pick up the signal. If anybody knows or has a friend or is part of a group group of girls that were in Leesburg this past Saturday night at Tarbenders, I do plan on being back there again, Saturday night. I do hope to either see you or hear from the woman in the peach colored dress.
How would you describe Leesburg’s “vibe”?
I’m narrowing in on where I might want to live with my family of four in the near future. I currently live out of state but grew up in nova and remember it being a good place to raise kids and would probably move back there to be close to family. I went to school in Richmond and liked the artsy vibe. I like that Leesburg has a historic downtown charm compared to other suburbs in the area and is very green with trees. So what is the “vibe” and what are people like? Are they buttoned up DC types still or a little more relaxed less career crazy? Is everyone in a hurry or slower pace compared to say, Arlington? How are the schools in your opinion? I have toddlers at the moment. Thanks!
Hello all, I am moving from Virginia Beach, where I had a larger home, to a rental with a lot less space just temporarily while my wife and I look for a home to purchase. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good storage rental?
Trying to gauge what to budget for. Need to start getting in shape and martial arts was recommended to me.
Thanks for any input!
