Hi! Doing a commission for a friend where they asked for 6 of their original characters to have 1 full body three displays of them using their weapon/powers. This is kind of my first time doing concept art for someone other than myself, especially on a large scale with them doing actions other than the usual outfit alternatives I do for my characters.
Character In Question - \"Cyra\"
In the document I was given, it was described that:
" Time manipulation: Reversal, forward, interactions and change (only ability so far with the power to undo death) - Time stopping doesn’t affect her physically.
And I'm kinda just here to ask how I could visualise it with the far right image?
Hello. Bit of context, loved art at school but went into media and advertising after a business degree at university twenty years ago. Bit of a sliding doors moment where an Illustration degree meant working in London or going immediately freelance in what still appears to be a crazy competitive industry.
I'm not looking for a career change here but would like to learn the ropes of modern illustration again in my free time. I want to learn how to create environments in photoshop or similar that have the look and feel of scifi themed illustrations of video game 'concept art'. I could hand draw fairly well but haven't for a long while and have never done anything digital. I did art in education up to 18 but consider my talent 'very raw' and could do with some back to basics stuff. I don't expect to get within 1% of the skill on ArtStation but to give you a feel for the type of thing I'm talking about.
Free courses first but I don't mind paying a few £/$'s a month within reason. Just point me in the right direction. Any other questions let me know thanks.
I was originally planning to attend FZD, but since they are now closed, the next best thing seems to be MAGES. Some of the student work coming out of MAGES is on par with FZD work, but it seems to only be coming from a select few MAGES students and not the whole class.
FZD was known for having a very rigorous program that attracted very dedicated students. I'm not sure if that is the case with MAGES, and if the education and class environment would be similar.
Has anyone attened MAGES concept design program, or have any advice for someone looking to attend concept design school? I'm trying to decide whether to attend MAGES, or to just learn online through courses like Brainstorm and wait for FZD to potentially open back up
This is my question in case you dont want to read my story!
my question: what is the process of creating good environment concept art. is there a youtuber i should follow to get a step by step guide? what do i do?
Hey guys, i am a 21 year old Visual Arts student at a decent college in my city. my aspiration to become a concept artist was born when i was 14. but by the time i got to high school, i realised i needed to be pretty solid in my fundamentals of art to be able to become a decent concept artist. for that, i took fine arts/visual arts in college. i promised myself to keep trying to learn concept art by myself in the 4 years of college.
now i have a month of free time to do exactly that!
i want to first make both character concept art and environment concept art to understand which one is my stronger suit, i have an intuition for environments. so i am starting with environment concept art.
my question: what is the process of creating good environment concept art. is there a youtuber i should follow to get a step by step guide? what do i do?
What are the best sources for learning concept art and making a portfolio? Im trying to improve and make it as a job.

Hi dear friends :) I did make this pokemon concept for my concept art lesson but couldnt find a proper name. They are originaly pandas living top of mountain where there was an old battle ruins everywhere. They find helmet and make it their home and making sound attack with slapping metal helmets with its pawns. They have nordic essence on their hair. I was thinking " PanGadong ! " what do you think ?
Hi friends ! This is another piece i did for book series called “Run Hero Dungeon” . This character is actually daily office worker but accidentally fall in dungeon world . Story mostly focused on fun elements but this scene actually dream of our character :) I have used clip studio paint on iPad Pro 4th . The reason choosing Clip studio paint is having better render quality and warp tool :) I believe lines has more value than colors . Just wonder your opinion about that . Best regards :)
Hello everyone, I really like the Last of Us game series. The question is can I make my own character concept based on the universe? All art that will be created are my mine and I just taking inspiration from the lore, basically a spinoff kinda, and maybe I will redesign some of the known characters, write additional story, add some monsters etc. Can I use it in my concept art or illustration portfolio? Can I show the proces on social media platform, or on Youtube? Will it be illegal for me to create a patreon to fund my passion, not necessarily to "sell" the artworks. Can you guys give me some insight, thanks!

Hello, I am coming from r/INAT, the hobbyist video game development team community. If you would like experience working with real development teams, that is an excellent place to do it. 3D, pixel, animation, and digital artists regularly join teams there in order to flush out their portfolios with these indie projects. It is a large and well established community that is always experimenting with the structure of these peer teams. We need concept artists , it’s common for another artist on the project to become the de facto concept artist. It can be very disruptive to the flow of development.
There is enormous opportunity to take the initiative in these spaces. If you have design ambitions, or need experience participating in a remote team. I encourage you to come on by, it’s not necessarily paid, but we’re out here doing it anyway.
I encourage you to reach out to me specifically. I’m doing stuff this summer, and hopefully into the future as well. And always try and keep an eye out what projects are forming and chugging along. We can hook you up.
FZD design school has been closed for a while! Are there any chances of it in the near future that it might be open again? I was struggling on choosing design school to study Concept art, Illustration, animation and all! US schools are expensive af! I was planning to apply for next year. Anyone got good artschools recommendations for the fields i mentioned!
Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to click on this post. My friends and I are art majors currently enrolled in a Digital Arts class and we are conducing a quick survey for a project.
I'd be cool to have the input of everyone here!
Stay safe,
Hey guys! As a concept artist which skill would be more useful to earn money?
