Do bray fans care if people from south dublin support the club since the whole merger or is it just the more fans the merrier
I noticed sky sports are broadcasting an nifl game at half 12 tomorrow which is quite unusual considering they usually broadcast the Irish league during the international break. But it got me thinking, is it that unrealistic to think the LOI can’t push for games to be broadcasted in Britain and get some sort of deal agreed? Even if it’s a deal in which games are broadcasted during June & July, when sky/premier sports have nothing else to broadcast
Based off social media engagement and interest, it’s clear folk across the water have taken notice of the league largely due to the title race and Duffer of course. So you get the feeling now is the time to get a deal agreed when the interest is still fresh
At home, there really should be a game a week broadcasted on free to air national television. RTE and Virgin media both have 2 channels each they could use and the interest is clearly there. For god sake even the RTE pundits are pushing for it to happen, you’d like to think it would be a given although then again you never know
The new LOITV x Premier Sports partnership is certainly promising and is probably the first step towards getting games broadcasted across the water. Would not be surprised to see the odd game here or there during the summer broadcasted. Premier have a fantastic set up as well based off their coverage of Rovers conference league games
Surely it’s time the LOI take that next step and get proper broadcast deals in place both at home and even abroad. The interest is growing and it would only help even more
How many games do you have to be involved in to qualify for a league medal?
Gav Molloy and Will Jarvis surely deserve it with Shels this season!
Congrats to Bray, onwards to the final 🏆
Not entirely surprising. But you have to question just how Bohs are going to attract quality footballers to the club. Do they cut their losses by sacking Reynolds and focus on a full restructure?
Conor Kearns just making sure the shot was covered. Worth the yellow card for the wind up alone 🔴 #Shels #Champions
What went wrong for rovers this year ?
Is the game up for them now ? Squad has peaked it seems, tactically they seem pretty one dimensional and rest of league has caught up and knows how to play against them, fact Kenny has come in and transformed pats in matter of months is gonna put pressure on rovers management and may very well highlight the fact that a little restructuring is necessary to evolve ,makes for interesting next season ? Pats must be favourites duff will bring it as defending champs .....plenty to be said about bohs derry stats also, So how do rovers respond as 4 in a row title winners now the competition is catching up .
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Watched shels win the league tonight in Tolka with my 14 yr old daughter, 18 years after last watching them win a league. I watched the last league and went on the piss for the weekend, wasn't afforded the same luxury tonight!
Spoke to her at the start of the season about the possibility of shels getting relegated. Reminded her of this at full time.
My son is a bohs season ticketer, my dad and brother are bohs members. My dog has a bohs jersey.
The drama this season has been on par with anything ive witnessed in 40 years on this planet. I fucking love this league and even tho chances are Shels wont win it again, I can't wait for next season!
Well that trophy presentation was a bit amateurish wasn’t it, and certainly doesn’t give Shels the credit they absolutely deserve after what is a terrific achievement. You’d swear it was a junior game the way it was treated like nothing. Shocking camera angles, the poor FAI representative being left waiting as half the team walk by without shaking his hand, a lack of any colour or gloss, not even a darn podium.
And all this does is add to insult following the pretty ludicrous decision to use TWO trophies, including manufacturing a replica which wasn’t even set to be used, when surely a helicopter would’ve been far easier and more effective. Would’ve been some laugh if Rovers had won it and had to make use of a trophy which hasn’t been awarded in nearly 2 decades.
Sometimes it feels like 1 step forward 2 steps back with the FAI with many examples in recent times of their lack of planning/professionalism. Even the small details such as the ribbons on the trophy not being in the colours of the winning team just looks silly.
In an era where the league is continuing to grow and thrive, and with recent changes such as a new league branding, match day graphics and kit font having come out in recent years, there’s still a lot to be done to clean these mistakes up.
What a fucking spectacle. The drama, the heartbreaks, the story lines, the european run’s and clubs nearly folding. All coming down to an 85th minute goal on the last day of the seasion hard to take as a rovers fan but congratulations shels.
I really hope this drives the league, we are starting to see good investment and accademies producing tallent long may it continue. Lets hope investment into facilities can be actualised.
Gowan the rovers!!!
Bohs Vs Galway Tonight
Congrats to my Shels pals, 2024 champions!
You can't say they fell over the line when they won the last 3 matches.
I know some people are sick of hearing about Duff, but himself, Joey and the staff have done an incredible job with that group 🏆🇮🇪
Obviously I have a dog in the hunt but whoever you follow, this feels like a big night for the league. A lot of eyes on these games!
Come on the Candystripes
We all hope this is Derry later...

Looking forward to the final matchday. Delighted with the season as a Galway fan. Anything could happen tonight regarding Shelbourne and Rovers games. Kenny and Amond are looking to catch Hoban for top scorer too.
