Heyy
So I recently got a offer from La Trobe and accepted it. I tried to create a USI but apparently it’s a requirement to be on shore beforehand so now I have to wait till I actually get to Aus. However, the problem is that in the email I got it said to enroll in courses before the 4th nov to secure my spot. I won’t be in Aus before then and I need my USI to enroll. Should I just say I am onshore and create it now even though I’m not?? I don’t know what to do and there’s not much information..
So I know chat GPT is AI and can’t be used to write essays yeah. But can I at least use it to start somewhere with them or even just have a rough idea on what to write?
My brain is fried and my work won’t let me have time off and I am fully struggling at this point 😭
i graduated last year, but my atar was absolutely horrible as at the time my main focus was soccer which i was invited overseas for to play and get paid good but unfortunately got injured while there. now i want to pursue my second dream but my atar was horrible and it is really stressing me out as i do not want to disappoint myself or my parents. any help would be greatly appreciated thank you:)
Hi, I will be joining la trobe in feb 2025. I will be living with my family friend for the first year, since i will be commuting to university everyday im just wondering is it going to be hard to make friends? I am an international student. Are there any tips for socializing since it’s harder to make friends if you don’t live in the student accommodation.
I’m interested in transferring to La Trobe University for a Media and Communications (Sports) course next year. How is the degree in general? +I would also like to know more about the people at campus(bundoora), employment opportunities, internships, and campus life or anything!
I have an upcoming supervised exam for my CSE1OOF course, and I’m unsure about the rules. Does anyone know if it’s allowed to use a cheat sheet or a translation tool during the exam? I tried asking the lecturer, but I haven’t received a response yet.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I initially applied for the MSc in Information & Communication Technology at La Trobe University, Melbourne, received my unconditional offer on October 11, and was asked to deposit the tuition fee as soon as possible for the November 4, 2024 intake. My education loan was sanctioned at the end of August, and my HDFC relationship manager mentioned it would take about a week plus 24 hours for the funds to be credited. Confident in this timeline, I was surprised when the funds only arrived on October 25, a Friday, leaving me unable to complete the payment over the weekend. On October 28, I made the tuition payment and shared the proof along with my course acceptance. Within two hours, La Trobe confirmed receipt of the proof, mentioning the funds would reach them within 24 hours.
However, I was then informed that, due to my course start date being November 4, even with an extension until November 10, my visa processing time might be too short, and they recommended deferring to the next intake on March 4, 2025. I also learned that the MSc ICT program is no longer offered, so I would need to switch to a similar STEM field. I’m considering the Master of Business Information Systems, as it interests me and has a similar fee structure, but I’m concerned about how long this switch and the approval process might take, even with three months to go. Also, I'm unsure about what will happen with the payment I’ve already made. What are my chances of getting everything approved in time to start in March?
Hi, I have an offer from La Trobe (Global MBA) and Curtin University (MBA- Advanced). I am inclined towards La Trobe because it is in Melbourne and therefore, better for networking and jobs. However, Curtin Uni has a higher ranking (don’t know if that matters) and the cost of living in Perth is more feasible.
Has anyone taken up the Global MBA from La Trobe? If yes, could you please tell me your experience? Thanks!
Is there something going on at La Trobe or am I the only student who despite many attempts at communicating with co-ordinators through email regarding questions with final assessments, just like they have said to do, they aren't responding to?
Hi,
keen to start reading before semester 1 2025. Anyone have a reading list?
I recieved an email stating internal transfers were now available for the Bachelor of Archaeology. I'm currently in the Bachelor of Arts - major in Archaeology. Went to apply only to find out it is only being offered in person at Bundoora.
My question is, how much less qualified will I be in the field if I only have the BA rather than the complete degree? Is there much difference?
Hi everyone. I am in my second year at Latrobe doing the Bachelor of Food and Nutrition full time online. At the end of this semester I will be 50% complete.
The more I progress, the more I enjoy the physiology and sociology subjects, and the applied food and nutrition not so much.
I really want to flip to a Bachelor of Health Sciences, but the subjects in Food and Nutrition seem pretty unique and not compatible with any other degree paths. Can't afford to waste the study I have already done, we are a single income family with 4 children.
Has anyone else had any luck turning a partway finished Food and Nutrition degree down a different allied health path? Keen to hear opinions. Otherwise I will persevere and do a graduate certificate in something more interesting later. I just see so many subjects in the Health Science degree that I would enjoy!
Thanks!
I am enrolling in Psychological Science and was wondering if any other students who have or will study this topic can recommend any majors that would be useful for someone hoping to work in the field of psychology one day? I'm a little overwhelmed by all the options (especially since I'm the first person in my family to go to Uni)
I’ll be starting a social work course next year but was keen to start working in childcare.
I found out that I need to complete a Cert 3 but am unsure about how to go about it as I already have plans of social work.
Is it possible to study a tafe course at another uni simultaneously or is that not recommended?
Hi everyone,
Would I be able to find any tourism management students here (in any form) who would be willing to answer a few questions about the course?
Mans thanks in advance. 😊

I’m starting the bachelor of health sciences next year with an allied health major. I’m hoping to use this course as a pathway into OT. Just looking for thoughts/ideas/advice on what electives would be good 😅
Has anyone received an offer yet? If so what was your WAM?
I’ve applied as a domestic student of Melbourne uni with a WAM of around 76 and haven’t received an offer yet should I be worried?
this is a looooong shot but does anyone have the powerpoint for the blended subject ‘What Is Art?’ from 2022? There was an artwork mentioned in it which I haven’t stopped thinking about but I can’t remember its name for the life of me 😭😭 It was in the Hilma Af Klimt / occultism week
Hey! I got accepted for Semester 1, 2025. I was just wondering what college was best in terms of social life? Or what college would be best to live at. I just want a really good social life at La Trobe and want to meet new people and make friends
So I am very new to this University and city and I just wanted to make this post to make some friends and someone to hangout within the university or even outside of the campus. Bundoora campus is pretty big and there's a lot of students in it so i thought maybe this should be a better option to make friends.
Okay so looking at acceptance rates in Australia for international students as I’m stressing about the universities I’ve applied for. My grades are decent but not top tier so we’ll see. But like 6 websites says La Trobe has a 100% acceptance rate for international students, which doesn’t seem particularly right but just wondering if this is really the case.
"Hi! I'm an international student considering the Bachelor of Podiatry at La Trobe University. I'm curious about the course structure, especially for international students, and the job opportunities after graduation. Is there strong demand for podiatrists in Australia, and how are the job prospects once you finish the course? Would appreciate any insights!"
i will be joining la trobe this feb and i wanna know if there are any accounts made on instagram by seniors for students to introduce themselves and become friends. Many unis have this!! is this common for la trobe asw???
Hello!!! I am a future student at La Trobe university taking bachelor of orthoptics. As far as I know, I do not have any friends that are taking this course. If any of you guys or know someone taking this course, please pm me so we can be friends!! I will gladly appreciate it!!!
Hi all. I am an international student applying for master of counselling. I got the conditional offer from Latrobe Uni and I think I will probably accept it and going to study at Latrobe. I also applied the same course in Victoria Uni but they did not send me offer yet. I am really curious about the studying experience in Latrobe! All answers and thoughts shared in this post would be highly appreciated.
Hi!
I applied for the Masters of Teaching & Nexus program through LaTrobe for Sem 1 2025. I sent my application (and Nexus application) mid August. I got an email a few weeks ago with a conditional offer that still required certain conditions to be met. I have uploaded all relevant documentation (I called and checked that I uploaded everything as well). How long should I expect to wait for an official offer? Since its post grad and I applied directly, will my application be included with all other applications (like year 12s) and will I have to wait for the next few rounds of offers to find out if I have received an official offer?
TLDR: If anyone that has applied for Masters of Teaching in the past, has any insight into the Nexus program or has applied for a masters and had to wait for an official offer could let me know how long it took, that would be awesome!
Hi guys,
I received an email with the conditional offer to la trobe dentistry, but i am really uncertain if it is actually real. ik this sounds a bit change, but it does seem a bit unrealistic. i am non rural, so i really was not expecting anything. but now that i received this email, does it actually mean that as long as i get an atar of 94 (i already met the prereq and everything else except for final atar), i get into dentistry.
i still somehow feel very uncertain about this :(( i would really appreciate anyyone who had experience with receiving conditional and actually got into density
thanks!
What is the on campus really like at La Trobe? Community atmosphere, study support, cleanliness, cost, security, ability to get a place? Love to hear about your experiences.
