Had one of these that I bought from a supplier back in the 90s when it came out to go with my cld-s105 player. 15 years later it died, bad capacitors from what I read online. Anyways , found the same unit on Facebook . Works beautifully, the person who sold it to me lived nearby so he let me try it first. Thank you George !!!
It's hooked up to my older Yamaha receiver that has external audio 6 channel input with my energy take 5.1 system/sub.
There's a nice gentleman in this sub that will send me pics how to modify the decoder to add an optical out port so I can use this device with my main system that has a newer Yamaha 7.2 receiver with optical in.
Maybe the most creative way to describe this format!
I was speaking to one of my younger employees, a serious cinephile with a love for laserdisc. He often goes unnoticed at work and I want to be able to get him a Christmas gift that means something. His favorite movie us Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind so I’d like to find that on laserdisc and I’d also love some advice on what i could buy (EBay or wherever) that would blow his mind for a top of the line Laserdisc player. Does anyone have any suggestions for something really solid and cool? He’s a serious cinema buff so it needs to be awesome. I know nothing about Laserdisc so anything you can direct me towards or tell me for certain is a good choice would be great. I can spend up to 1K.
I messaged as soon as I saw the post, but he already had someone scheduled to come later tonight to pick them up. There were definitely 10 movies that I would have been happy to pay $5 for and the rest would have been free.
Would a record store pay $1 each for a lot like this? I don’t understand why anyone would open up so cheap, $0.20 each, or best offer!
My heart skipped a beat when I turned the corner and saw this joint
As the title suggests I am looking for the best models for using the Domesday Duplicator. I only have 1 player DVL-919 and would prefer to not mod my main player for this project. Can you please suggest players that work well with the duplicator, which I do not own yet.
Was a bit too pricey for my blood. What do you guys think?
Hey there,
I finally dug my Laserdisc out and hooked it up to the receiver, but am using a $20 thing from Amazon to get it attached. Is there a much nicer/cleaner one that people are using?
It would be so nice to watch my original Star Wars vs the THX vs the Special Editions in some semblance of visual clarity.
Appreciate any experience people have. I'd like to put it on my 120" projection screen and get it as clean as I can.
Thank you.
I saw this on my local fb marketplace. Pioneer CLD-V121G LaserKaraoke player. Will this play normal laserdisc movies? They are asking $500 for the whole shebang.
The mca disc is almost certainly rotted as I can see the separations and bubbles under it, but I just got it because of the jacket
Not seen either before, and opinions?
I moved into my house about 13 years ago and brought the LD player. It hasn't been played for at least that long. I finally got an S-Video to HDMI converter and when I fired it up, it made a horrible dying noise and then kicked out the CD tray. After a few tries I got the LD tray to eject, but it was still making the terrible noise. I ordered and replaced the loading belt and it didn't make the noise anymore and the loading process was overall way more smooth. Now my problem is that it will play CDs, but not LDs. When I try the latter, it just says "no disc". Anyone have any ideas about how I can get it to read? Thanks in advance!
