Does anyone remember a wizard? (lanark area)

I remember seeing a guy, stick and all looking like gandalf going down the street for bread/milk and friends being casual about it like he's a local legend.

I can't find anything on it online would have been around 2005+ Please tell me people remember this guy and not just me.

I'm 60F, educated; I live near Shotts. I'm pretty much retired. I'm bored: anyone up for meeting up for coffee on a kinda regular basis?

I'd be happy to travel to Wishaw or the Calders. Aroma in Wishaw is good & there's the Black Bull and Fork & Field in Mid Calder. Shotts has got the Station Hotel and there's even a café beside the shop/post office in Allanton.

I'd be up for meeting at any of these places.

Any takers?

Under New Management

Hello,

My name is Lauren. Due to years of inactivity and the absence of any moderators for this subreddit, I have taken on the responsibilities of "refurbishing" this subreddit, building it back up and getting it back on track. So, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Lauren, I'm from North Lanarkshire and I have a lot of interest in community building.

What will change and what has changed already?

Well, to start, we have already got a full set of rules on the sidebar now to ensure that this subreddit remains free from spam, advertisement, hatred and off-topic content. We're also adding post flairs (optional: you will not be required to add post flairs to your posts but it is recommended and appreciated) to help keep things organised and allow people to easily search for posts of a specific topic.

I'll also be looking to take on a few helping hands, so if anyone is interested in joining as a moderator, just comment down below, telling me a bit about yourself and any relevant experience.

Looking forward to building this community.

If anyone ever has any questions, concerns, feedback or suggestions, don't hesitate to get in touch via ModMail.

Thank you.
