Please note: this isn't really the place for that lamp you built from scratch. Those are cool and we appreciate the work involved, but subs already exist for that content.

I am trying to figure out how to change the bulb on this fixture. I am a renter, so I have never been able to review the assembly instructions. Do any of you have experience installing this fixture? Is there another sub you would recommend me submit this to?
Took off the glass covers from the ceiling fan lights today for the first time ever and saw this band that’s hardened and has broken off into pieces as you can see. I’m assuming this is some sort of rubber to prevent the screwed from holding onto the glass directly.
I’m wondering if (1) there is a necessity to replace them and (2) if so, where I can buy just that vs replacing the glass covers and/or ceiling fan.
I’ve never been able to attach a shade properly. This is welded to the original harp. It probably had a glass shade originally.
It needs re-wiring and since I’ve got to do that I thought I would try and solve the problem of what to do about the top also. I can’t seem to find a part that will adapt this for a female finial. Any thoughts?
Planning on restoring this 1920s lamp I’ve had for a few years soon. Luckily the wiring and everything still works, so it’ll be more so cleaning than a true restoration. Wondering if anyone has any tips on getting the brass clean or may know anything about the lamp itself/style of lamp? There’s no marks on it signifying a company or maker anywhere on it.
I found this beautiful lamp but the lampshade is always loose and wobbly does anyone have a recommendation for what I can use to either stabilize this one or what a good replacement altogether would be ? It’s never level and it’s driving me crazy
How do I clean these spots ?? How old is this lamp any ideas? Thanks
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out how to wire this gone with the wind style lamp correctly as a gift for my mother.
I have my lamp cord that goes from the wall to the lamp.
There are two sockets on the lamp. The upper socket has 2 brass coloured screws and one silver.
The bottom socket has only one brass coloured screws and one silver.
The switch has a red wire, a green wire and a white/black striped wire.
How do I safely wire all this up? Thank you all in advance :)
P.S. Please forgive the lighting in the photos. The power is currently out due to the weather from hurricane Helene

UPDATE: Thank you all for the advice. I had to put this on hold this past month due to the chaos from hurricane Helene but the cleanup is done and I was able to utilize the advice and get the lamp working for my mom! Y'all are good people thank you again.
I have the wire frame from a “drum” lampshade. It slides into a holder in a ceiling light.
I need to find a good tutorial to follow that doesn’t include “buy this kit” because it’s 20 inches across.
Thank you!
