As a sidenote, I’m gluten-free and she’s dairy free so would be awesome if there was some place we can get food but not a big deal. Thanks!
Hello! I just moved to Lakeview - does anyone know what hours trick or treating takes place next week? This will be my first time being able to hand out candy, so want to make sure I am home from work at the right time!
Just confirming as I saw Southport has a trick or treating event on Monday 10/28.
Thanks for the help!
Will Cullen is playing a free show tomorrow at The River at 2909 N Sheffield. Anyone on the list gets free drinks from 9-10pm, message me to get your name on the list.
Can anyone comment on your experience raising kids in Lakeview past age of 10?
Are there areas more family friendly than others?
Thanks
Hello, I’m not sure if this is the place to discuss this, though I’m looking into eventually moving into Lakeview and was wondering what’s been a good enough salary/wage for people living in the area.
At my current job I make roughly $2400 a month after taxes, though with loan payments and car insurance I keep around $1900 minimum. I was wondering if that would be enough to afford living in a studio apartment about $1100/1200 a month, eventually counting in groceries, utilities, etc.
If anyone else makes and pays for about the same is it enough to live in the area comfortably enough?
Hello fellow Lakeview/Lincoln Park cat owners! I have a small business and am looking for feedback on a new product idea I have. Would you be willing to have a 1 hour online zoom call with me so I can ask you about your experience and opinion? I'd give you $20 to compensate for your time. Please fill out this quick form if you're interested! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KSNPMRG Thank you so much in advance!
I’m F and looking for any hair dresser recs in lakeview/ wrigley/Lincoln park ish area that is reasonably priced and good quality!!!
Hi everyone, do you know of a gas station with an automatic car wash in the neighborhood by any chance? I usually go to Quiroga’s on Southport but I’m also looking for something quick and cheaper close enough. Thank you all.
Why did it close?? We had a reservation canceled abruptly. Anyone know what happened?
Hi all!
I just moved to Chicago in the Lakeview area. I’m looking for recommendations on nail salons. Specifically one’s that are great at gel and gel extensions. As long as it isn’t outrageous, price isn’t an issue. Thanks!
Hi friends, I will be staying in the Lake View area this weekend and was hoping for some food recommendations. I am vegetarian but open to any cuisine. Looking for good brunch, lunch, dinner, bar and pub recommendations. Especially keen for your best Chicago style pizza (I know this is a war starter but happy to see people's suggestions).
Ok Lakeview, need some recommendations here. Looking for a place that is dog friendly where I can hang and work on my computer for a couple of hours during the day. Especially an outdoor spot while it’s still nice this week. A cafe would be awesome but I’m down for a bar too. Any ideas? I’m drawing a blank. TIA :)
Has anyone lost a cat? Skinny, light brown, super friendly so it’s definitely domesticated. She ran up to us as soon as she saw us so not scared of humans. Between Wrigley Field and southport.
Alright /r/lakeview, these are the best days of the summer/fall. The weather is great and there is a lot to do out there, from sports to festivals to shows to eating and drinking.
So what are your favorite Lakeview (or even outside of our great neighborhood) to do at this time of year, after the heat and humidity and before the cold winter. Let us know in the comments below.
Had my bike stolen last night and just need something to get back on the road
Hi everyone! I am doing a scavenger hunt in lakeview for my birthday and am looking for some more fun ideas to include in the scavenger hunt.
Currently I have stuff like: -jump in the lake -eat a chicago dog -do a chicago handshake -do an irish car bomb
but if anyone has any suggestions I would love them! We’re like 25-30yrs old and open to drinking and any other fun things. If you have any riddles too that are relevant to lakeview or could be incorporated that is great! Thank you in advance :))
Looking for help with 2 mos old infant a few days a week.
Any folks going to regular runs in the area? Looking to get some outdoor basketball in before summer ends
I had a rough exchange with the realtors and I’m wondering what people thought of this building. I went and saw it and really liked it but I’m really dissuaded from moving forward because of the experience dealing with the company while looking for an apartment. Was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with the building and its management.
I just saw a post about this same fundraiser scam in Roscoe Village 10 months ago. I'm reposting because this exact same situation just happened to me in Lakeview in front of the Starbucks on the corner of Clark, Broadway, and Diversey (Tuesday 08/06 at 5:53 pm).
3 men were asking for money for their dead cousin, they said he didn't have life insurance and they were raising money for the cost of the funeral. They had petition sheets to sign for your donation with images and information about their cousin.
I didn't have cash so I was going to venmo, but last minute they asked me to do tap and pay. I hesitated but felt overwhelmed so I did it and obviously, I shouldn't have. They tried to charge me $2,400 with a vendor name of PP*David Clothing. Thankfully Chase declined the purchase, I canceled my card, and even disabled my tap and pay account.
I saw the transaction get declined on my phone with the amount they tried to charge while still on the corner. When I looked up they were running to their car. So I ran after them and got the car information and reported it to the police. Who knows if they'll be caught but I tried for the next person who is vulnerable.
The Roscoe post has almost the exact same situation happen (time of day, 3 men, fundraiser information).
Please be safe and report these people if you see them!
Looking to start practicing again, I haven’t played in a few years. Was a solid 4.0 player back then but not sure about now. Looking to play early mornings at waveland tennis courts
Title. I'm looking to get rid of a few items (computer monitor, older edition Xbox, etc.) and would like to know if anyone knows of any places I could take them to.
Neighbor just spotted a Tabby cat with a medical cone limping near Belmont and Racine. If you’re missing your little friend, please let me know!
