Hi there - looking to host my bachelorette on a houseboat in LP. I have never done a houseboat but grew up on boats and don't have many concerns on nav / will pay to anchor w/ the marina as provided & have a chill group who will be safe and respectful of the dangers of being remote on water.
We are looking for an adventure where we can be outdoors & swim and explore w/ a smaller boat while the houseboat stays in the same location to save on gas and efforts anchoring. Is this the right move? 4 day trip.
A couple of questions -
is houseboats.org really the only company to rent from out of Page? Every site I find redirects back?
what are some must-haves? I read starlink for cell-comms?
need to know? feeling like there is a lot of janky, not helpful websites
Here's a link to a video that shows our journey from Big Water to Warm Creek Bay via Crosby Canyon. Smoky Mountain Road and Crosby Canyon were dry (Mid October) with of evidence of washouts during the recent monsoon season. In general, conditions were good, we used 4 High mainly for more flexibility in choosing which route to take to the lake shore. With the water level at 3577, you'll take side trails to get down to the water. We carried a pair of kayaks on the roof, and has no issues with the terrain.
My family and I are in love with lake Powell, and have even considered purchasing a home there. But I have been reading the history of Glen Canyon Dam, and I wonder… what’re the odds that the government would opt to close down the dam and allow Lake Powell to drain into Lake Mead? What would happen to Page? Would it become a ghost town? Sorry this might seem like a dumb question… but I’m just genuinely trying to learn as much as I can about the possible implications of investing in Page and how it would be affected were Lake Powell to cease to exist.
Is there any sort of fuel delivery available on the lake. That would be a good side hussle if someone wanted to do it.
Family and I are planning a trip sometime next September and are wondering where the best places to rent houseboats are. There will be around 8 of us and ideally just a 3-4 night rental. We plan on renting a wake boat as well.
Any recommendations help, thank you!
I’m an experienced house boater in the east but never in the west. What is the weather like on lake Powell in mid November?
The discounts don’t look so extreme that November boating is not done, but between temperatures and wind I know this won’t be the same experience as the summer.
I would like to do canyon exploration, we are a group of four.
Obviously if you know where a great discount is please pass it along. I will be renting this week based on advice.
I am looking to rent a Pontoon boat on Lake Powell for 5 days in July 2025. Needs to be big enough for 10 people and able to pull toys. What (where) would you recommend?
Hello,
My gf and I planned a last minute trip to Lake Powell. We’re looking to rent a boat next week (9/18) and was debating on going with wahweap marina or some local shop? If local shop, does anyone have recommendations?
I have experience boating but I have never launched a boat before. For that reason, I feel like Wahweap marina might be the better option?
We just want a boat to explore and go fishing so any advice is welcome please!
Thank you all in advance!
Update: went with antelope - regret it. Boat was in okay condition however when I booked it, I paid for a full day which said 8am - 6pm. When I got there, they said they just changed it today to 8am-4pm. I got there at 9am since I thought the whole time we would have the boat until 6pm and had to wait for the guy to come back from break to do the boat check off list. Wasn’t on the water until 1030am…. I asked if I would be charged for half day since 1030am - 4pm is 6 hours and they said no since the time starts when I checked in which was 9am…
Hey everyone, I’ve planned to rent a houseboat out of Wahweap for my brother’s bachelor party at the end of next May. We’re flying into Vegas and driving from Vegas to the marina. Unfortunately, the earliest time I could reserve the houseboat was 11am, so we’re going to have a bit of time to kill between the time we leave Vegas (around 1am the night before) and board the houseboat in Wahweap. I’m wondering if anyone knows of any good scenic spots that we can stop along the way to watch the sunrise or something like that. Maybe a good breakfast spot around Page? Any recommendations would be appreciated — I’m trying to avoiding sitting at the marina for 3+ hours, lol.
Does anyone know how long the rope swing is from the very top to bottom?
We're two friends looking for a guided hike and kayaking tour to Antelope Canyon and we stumbled upon Lake Powell Adventure Co which seems to have great reviews, but we wanted to know if anyone has tried their tours and how their experience went overall. We're planning to go next week, and we plan to spend a full day there. I would appreciate any suggestion or feedback!
I heard a rumor that you cannot stay or swim on your houseboat while in a slip at wahweep. Can anyone confirm?
Hey guys, we are two professional photographer and want to visit white pocket. We are in Page at the 12th of september. The problem is.. we dont have 4wd. Is there any local who want to help us out to get there at Sunset time?
We would be so greatful for this one time chance to visit and Connect to new people.

Hi and thank you in advance to anyone who has advice for us!
My husband and I are renting a houseboat from Bullfrog (the 46 ft. Expedition) and since this is our first time even visiting Lake Powell, I just wanted to ask a few questions before we go.
We pick up on a Tuesday at 10am...what are the chances that the boat and instructor will truly be ready at that time? Has anyone rented from Bullfrog recently and can you tell me your pickup experience?
We have a sturdy, inflatable kayak that we plan on using to explore smaller canyons...is that advisable or are jet skis and speedboats really the only way to do this successfully?
If we are renting Tuesday-Saturday, considering gas, how far should we really go out and turn around and not be in danger of running out of gas?
How worried should I be about the houseboat and personal belongings when out exploring on our kayak?
Thank you! :)
Hi y’all,
I’m planning to kayak from Lake Powell to Antelope Canyon somewhere mid October
For that, I will need a kayak. Anyone know a good place to rent one?
Any other tips I should be aware of?
By the way, we will be staying in Page during that time. In case that matters.
Anyone know when Rainbow Bridge boat tours will resume? They were running earlier this year, then stopped for "mechanical issues." I was told they would resume around July 15th but nothing is available on the website.
Hi! My sister and I want to go to LP next summer with our families. We used to go with our parents as teens but things have probably changed.
We can drive boats: was the designated waterski boat driver at 18 and very good at getting people up, my sister and her husband are sailors.
We are coming from Salt Lake.
So to get us started I have a couple questions:
Which marina?
Is there an “official” houseboat rental place or is there anything I need to be wary of renting?
We want to go about this time next year. We should book now right?
Any other “getting started” tips? Don’t overload me please!
Hello! My family and I will be in Page AZ around Oct 18th and want to get on the water. I’ve been a boater for years on the east coast so I’m fine to operate it. If we rent near Antelope what can we expect? Places to visit? Routes to take?
Appreciate your advice!
Friends of Reddit - my best friends and I would like to head to Powell for a nice weekend with friends. Theres a 60' Eagle HB we want to rent, but it's just a tad out of our budget range.... you know what they say, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take, so heres the ask...
anyone know a discount code for the antelope point booking website?
It’s a long shot, but does anyone here have any recommendations for a photographer who would come out on the lake to take some engagement photos?
My finance and I met on Lake Powell 7 years ago and got engaged on the lake 2 years ago. Needless to say it’s a pretty special place to us. We would love to have some engagement photos taken when we go out for our annual trip mid-August. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
About to take a yamaha 252x out and was wondering if that was a viable option.
Two friends and I are doing a road trip around southern Utah at the end of September this year and would love to spend some time on Lake Powell. We can't afford to rent a boat or sea-doos, but are relatively fit and intermediate-level kayakers and campers. Right now we're thinking of renting from Antelope Point Marina and then kayaking to Labyrinth Canyon and setting up camp there for the night, then kayaking back the next morning. Is this realistic? How long does it take to kayak that distance? Ideally we want to kayak and swim around some quieter, narrower canyon areas. Any advice is appreciated!
