Has anyone taken advantage of the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC), Lehigh University. Was Lafayette good about accepting the credits and how does it work with tuition?
I am a prospective Int applicant from South Asia! As Lafayette is a Need Aware college, How much of EFC do they expect or let's say they want students to have at least? I am planning with an EFC of 10-15k a year. What do you think?
Anyone selling a parking pass for today’s football game?
How is Kamine??
Is it all freshman?
Do freshman go to frats nearby?
What do I need to know about it if it is my freshman year dorm?
Ok so I really want to study abroad, but I have an expired passport. Ik it sounds stupid since I haven't even started classes yet. But I want to at least get my passport started because I'm sure many of you are familiar with how hard that process is. My genuine question is it worth it and is Switzerland a good place to study abroad?
I'm planning to ED Lafayette this fall as I really think the college is my fit. For the most part, I've only heard good things about Laf and most of the information I've found about it is positive.
However, I am aware that every college has it's downsides so I was hoping that any current students or alumni could share the worst parts about attending Lafayette so that I can have a more broad picture before committing to my application.
Anyone here have experience bringing their motorcycle to campus or know anyone that has? I’ve seen some motorcycles parked in various spots on campus, rarely taking up an actual parking spot. Can you get away with not registering for a parking pass? I can’t imagine they could reasonably require you to pay $500 to park somewhere that isn’t taking up a spot for a car.
Hi! I’m an incoming freshman and I need help with course registration. I received an email from a math advisor last week that I can take Math 263??😱
I’m planning on majoring either psych/neuro and I dont know if math 263 would be needed for graduation. My ultimate goal is med school. Could anyone give me an insight about the course? (both math 162 and 263, like class size, course rigor, assignment… etc) I would appreciate your help a lot!
Or just when they usually are? Before or after the Fall Break?
Hi! I'm a rising senior at a small, out-of-state high school & I would like to Lafayette for pre-med; however, my grades were really rocky in my sophomore year. Also, Common App opens in like a week, and I don't wanna waste time looking stupid by applying for a college I won't get into.
I have a 3.63uw, 4.8w (mainly As & Bs, but 2 Cs); done many extracurriculars; 1400 SAT score (retaking in August); and have great relationships with my teachers, so I should have decent rec letters. I also write fairly well, so my personal statement should be good. Do I have any chance of getting in, either EA or RD?
Also, would I enjoy attending Lafayette? I really want to go, but I've heard bad things about food & dorms.
I like lifting, I'm just kinda worried how busy the gym usually is. Is it bad?
Hi my name is cal I'm just trying to connect with people I'm a ln incoming freshman Snap:calpal833
Thank you for any/all responses in advance 🙏
I always heard that South was the "crazy party building," but now I'm hearing that Ruef (Where I'm staying) is even louder lol. Any thoughts?
Also, how full-out do people at Laf go on their room decor/design. I'm trying to get an idea before I under or overdo it.
How big do you guys buy your fridges?
Are the rooms clean before move-in? Or is it usually tough to clean it up before you set up all your things?
How are the showers? Is there a lot of calcium build up on the showerheads or mold on the tiles?
Do a lot of students bring their own headboards?
Do the rooms get a lot of sunlight?
Does the cleanliness vary by floor?
My roommate and I got assigned to ruef. Everyone on campus i’ve told so far seems to make a face when I tell them. Ppl never go into detail about and simply say “it’s not good” So what’s the inside scoop of things there? If it’s really as bad as people make it out to be, is it too late to switch?
My daughter and her roomie got assigned to Gates Hall. She wanted something quieter than Ruef and South. She heard it was quiet and well located, but are the rooms horribly old or unbearably small? We heard that AC is now in the dorm. How is the lounge? If you don't recommend this dorm, what would be good for her to switch to that is coed yet reasonably quiet? Thanks.
Is Lafayette worth the price, asking as someone majoring in economics + math, likely going to go into the actuarial or finance field. Will have to pay around 50k out of pocket but this is the best school I got into.
When will the decisions drop? Some people have already got off the waitlist a week ago and I haven’t received anything…Is that bad 😭? Do they accept people they like early?
Hello,
It's been since a month , my friend has submitted his application. I was looking forward if anyone know when do transfer decisions get released?
Is south the only place for freshman triples? It is online under first year dorms and a current student told me it is but I want to make sure. Let me know. Thank you.
Hi I am planning on applying for Health Professions Program at Laf. I attended several virtual information sessions but I’ve never met someone who could answer my questions as someone who’s actually in the program.. so if someone could answer, I would greatly appreciate your help!
I’ll list my questions so that it’s easier lol
Hey guys! I’ve been recently admitted to laf. I was wondering if it is easy for freshman to do a research with a prof their first year? Ik there’s a research program over the summer but yk I thought it would be great if you could get a jump start on it! btw my major is neuroscience/bio
Are WLs for intls rare at Lafayette? I finished my LOCI, and I feel like I went all out lol. Would someone please have a look at it as well as possibly offer some advice on what the school actually requires in terms of "fit"? Thank you!
Hi, admitted class of 2028, I’ve heard awful things about the dinning hall food… is it that bad?
