My personal analysis as a catholic girl:
I have no doubt that this song and especially this music video is very strictly about the conflict of faith and reality. I first want to draw attention to the end of the video where you can see gaga in her fully holy and purified self I guess being circled by a group of people chanting. You can see towards the end of the video at 3:55 she is screaming and I think what this is representing is that this circle of people is her religion and she is screaming because she feels trapped inside of it. She’s essentially showing that she feels trapped inside of Christianity. Going back to the beginning and middle parts of the video you can see her and her “sinful” self almost tugging at each other trying to get one to the other side. Also, in the chorus, she says abracadabra amor and abracadabra Morta which means love and death. I think that this video in these lyrics also hint towards struggles of dealing with your sexuality and dealing with your feelings .when she refers to love, I think she’s referring to the struggles of sexuality or being part of the LGBTQ community. I think it’s portraying that often people with a really strong faith have to draw a fine line between the two and can either choose love, which will leave them happy or choose death, which is not really death, but it almost feels like the death of your enjoyment of life because you don’t get to fully explore this other side of yourself. I can heavily relate to this and this does not mean that she is not a devoted Christian. I think this is heavily relatable to all members of the Christian community. Often times we can feel really trapped in our own religion that is supposed to free us because we don’t properly merge enjoyment and religion together. To be Catholic Christian or any other Christian denomination doesn’t require a specific set of rules. It is only up to you and God to decide what is best for you. At the end of the day, the laws of the church or the Bible don’t matter as long as you have built a relationship with God and if God is allowing you to feel this way or feel these things, and God made you this way then go on with your life because God is obviously fine with it. That is my deeper understanding of the song!

I found this online and just thought it was interesting—
“The word "Abracadabra," often associated with magic and mystical incantations, has deep roots in the Aramaic language. Derived from the phrase "Avra kehda bra," it translates to "I will create as I speak." This phrase highlights the powerful connection between our words and the reality we manifest. In many spiritual traditions, words are seen as a form of creative energy. What we speak into existence carries the potential to shape our world. When you understand that your words have the power to create, you become more mindful of what you say-realizing that every thought expressed has the potential to influence your life and the lives of those around you. "Abracadabra" isn't just a magical word; it's a reminder of the magic within us all. When you speak with intention, you harness the power of creation. Whether you're setting goals, affirming positive thoughts, or simply communicating with others, your words have the ability to bring your desires into reality. So, next time you utter the word "Abracadabra," remember its true meaning. Let it be a reminder to speak with purpose, to use your words wisely, and to create the life you envision-because, indeed, you will create as you speak.”
What are everyone’s thoughts on the meaning of her new single? What are some of your interpretations? I’d love to know!
just Mortga
This shot in abracadabra goes CRAZY im still in shock. It legit looks like a renaissance painting or a still image from an Opera set.
IVE JUST BEEN ENTRANCED BY MOTHER MONSTER AND SHE’S SAVED ME. SHE’S ABOUT TO SAVE POP.
I sincerely hope that Gaga is witnessing the profound happiness and love we’re all experiencing. It's more than just admiration; it's a powerful connection that transcends boundaries. We are a vibrant community united by her artistry, and I want her to feel the depth of our gratitude and the transformative impact she has had on our lives. She inspires us to embrace ourselves fully, and I hope she knows how deeply we cherish her. 🌟❤️✨
By a lady in red; You hear the last few words of your life 🔪
This WOMAN and lyricism 🔥☠️
I was expecting her to at least perform Disease with stage props, gorgeous visuals and dance moves. You know…what she does normally…She is going full under the radar rn.
At the end of that cover Bruno just walks away backwards while syncing with Gaga’s tectonic moves, she looks in trance straight ahead, lights get dimmed, dancers running towards her and the song begins….
I really wanted this….and this what old Gaga would’ve done
So, the chant in the chorus, I was thinking....
Abracadabra was once thought as a phrase to ward off evil. Amor God of love. Morta is the Goddess of death. So, I'm guessing the song is about either her love helping heal the dangerous part of herself or about learning to love those dangerous/unperfect parts.
Does anyone else have any ideas? Has Gaga said what it's about?
I can't seem to stop crying and my emotions are throwing a wild party! Seriously, Gaga worked some kind of magic with this song!! It's like my heart is having a dramatic meltdown while simultaneously trying to do the ooh-na-na ! 😮💨😭💃
The Fame: Brown Eyes
The Fame Monster: Teeth
Born This Way: Black Jesus+Amen Fashion
ARTPOP: Dope
Joanne: Grigio Girls
Chromatica: 1000 Doves
I love Joanne. So, I was shock to see that since the release of these first two singles from Mayhem I've seen so many fans say that Joanne, Chromatica, and the Jazz albums were mistakes; that dark pop is what she should have always been making, and not diviated from. I honestly believe that the only reason Gaga is so popular today is how versatile she is. I've had so many friends and family members say that Joanne was their sweet point in Gaga's career, and it's allowed them to go back and find joy in her older music. My Mum became a fan the night of the Oscar's in which she sang sound of music, and then fell in love with Million Reasons, and her ballads from ASIB. I know people love her original sounds, but I fell in love with the woman who can both make us dance our asses off and then, the next second, play a ballad, allowing us into such intimate bubbles. I get not liking some genres, but to dismiss those as a mistake.... Her versatility is what makes her an artist, not the sound that made her famous.
I’m very disappointed and sad to say that I hate the song. I was really excited for this song but I’m not feeling the finished product.
It sounds like there’s two different songs in one, it wants to be a 90s early 2000s club sound but also a rock song. It sounds very incohesive and every time I try to vibe with it it’s like another song comes on.
All that being said, the lyrics are very cringeworthy to me. I hate the chant “Abracadabra Amor ooh- Na Na, Abracadabra Morta - Ooh Ga Ga” … girl what.
I also hate the way she says “feel the beat under your feet the floors on fire”
Idk… for someone of Gaga’s caliber this song just feels unpolished and almost amateur.
I liked Disease.
Maybe I just need some time with it. It’s got me a little scared for the rest of LG7.
I really love this masterpiece,it makes me feel something beautiful and old, what about you dear little monsters?😍
