I am currently in a play where I play a Parisian. I know how to say Paris when speaking French, but if I am speaking English with a French accent would I say it the same? A lot of other character in the play are English. Don't know if that matters.
Salut tout le monde.
Do you have any recommandations for short stories or short books for beginners in French?
After focusing on mostly auditory input (podcasts & audio courses), I realized that I need to begin reading to acquire the grammar in context.
It would be awesome to find more contemporary adaptations (1990s-Present) that use high frequency vocabulary and several verb tenses and moods (subjective).
For reference - I’ve started quite slow with adapted versions of fairy tales (e.g. Les frères Grimm, Jean de La Fontaine, etc.) and simple graded readers (https://storiesfirst.org/greatstoryreadingproject/groups/francais/gpages/)
Merci à tous pour votre aide. Et à bientôt !

Hi everyone. I am wanting to get the quote "i love you, i adore you, what more do you want?" As a tattoo. How does that translate? It was something my grandmother used to say to me all the time in french and for the life of me i cannot remember how it is in french.
I have a textbook from college French 101 and I was unsure what to do with it leading up to French 102. Anybody think regularly writing in French could help keep it fresh in my mind?
I am looking for a website where I can stream French movies with french subtitles in order to improve my french! A place where I can safely download them would be nice too. filmfra.com doesn't seem to work on my laptop...
Thanks in advance :)
My US college senior daughter, who will be attending University in France for Le License in September 2016 (she speaks French) wishes to major in French language and French and/or World Literature. Through Campus France, she can apply to three Universities. We like what we have seen on the websites for Aix-Marseille, Toulouse, and Lyon II. Anyone out there knowledgeable about which Universities in France have the strongest/best/most renown French language and literature departments? Thank you!
I recently wanted to get in the game of learning a second language. I have some beginners knowledge of French, but beyond that I'm completely lost. I live in the northwest IN/Chicago area and was wondering if anyone Knew of any free or inexpensive classes offered? Also as far as apps go, Duoling hasn't helped me one bit. Thanks!
My daughter is looking for a computer science major at a French University (she will certainly pass the D2 this winter and her odds of acceptance are extremely high); but at University websites, I guess our French is just not good enough to know exactly “how” a “computer science” major is defined. Anyone know of the best Universities to attend in advance for this major? And merci beaucoup.
Je suis un étudiant at Rutgers University in des Etats-Unis. J’ai une famille nombreuse. Tu as une famille nombreuse?
I am looking for a penpal to email (ideally) to practice and improve upon my abilities with the French language. I'd be able to help people with English if they want to practice that also. Leave me a message if you want to do this:) Thanks
something not interactive
video would also be acceptable
On this site I tutor a few languages such as French, Spanish and English as a foreign language. I'm a native English speaker from the United Kingdom and I'm currently studying a degree in French, Spanish and Italian at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
I've never actually been to France, but I've been speaking the language for nine years. However, in October I'm flying over to France to spend an academic year in the south of the country, in a town called Perpignan. I'm going to work in a couple of primary schools there teaching English to the students, but obviously my level of French will benefit greatly too, which I'm quite excited about.
I really enjoy teaching languages (even explaining grammar so it actually makes sense!) so people have the opportunity to travel more and experience and understand more different cultures in the world. The more you understand, the more you'll be able to really fall in love with some amazing places like I've been able to!
If anyone has any questions or doubts in about French, however big or small, just let me know and I'll be delighted to help! Here's the link to my profile. :) http://instaedu.com/online-tutors/Rebekah-D-234951/[1]
I would really like to have some people to chat with, as I've found it incredibly helpful learning German.
Whether you're also learning or a native speaker, let's talk!
