I’ve heard rumors circulating that there might be a potential hiring freeze, either already implemented or set to commence soon. I’m a bit apprehensive about this news, as I’m still in the process with the LAFD and haven’t received any updates since my background investigation concluded in the summer. Additionally, could you please provide me with information about the upcoming academy classes so that I can assess my chances of making it before the time limit expires? I eagerly await any positive news regarding my application.
What is the difference between Public Service Officer and Public Information Officer? Where can I find job descriptions and requirements?
Hi all i hope your well if any of you guys are professional wildfire/ forest fire fighters it would be hugely appreciated if you wouldn't mind filling out a quick questionnaire for part of my college project thanks in advance have a great day
Hi, I have a neighbor, whom we found works for Los Angeles County FD, who is in a process of moving out due to an eviction from the original owners. Before he moves with his family, he is supposed to get my window fixed since his son swung a rock with a bat and cracked my window back in May of this year. His partner is very aggressive with her words, and when my husband tries to talk to him, his partner shows up to the door instead. As of right now, he has yet to get this project completed. Where can I go to file a complaint about his integrity, courage, and lack of communication? My husband has reached out to the neighbor, but since then ghosted my husband.
We are in the process of filing a small claims on him.
What should we do?
Hey so I’m Army reserves and i’m deploying next year. I want to start applying to fire stations when I get back (currently a paramedic) i’m wondering if I should complete get my associates in paramedic studies before I deploy and a Certificate in Fire science or If i should pursue a Associate in Fire science and keep my paramedic as is. Also would you recommend going to a CC Fire academy before applying or have the job put me through Fire academy
I'm looking at a career change/ something stable and considering being a firefighter. I live in LA and I assume it's very competitive. Is it realistic to be able to get a job?
Looking to get information on the best way to start the process and go about it. I started training but really want to figure the next steps and when the next application process for 2025 will be.
During backgrounds, if I can't get a hold of old supervisors should I just leave that section blank? I genuinely can't find any information on old co workers or old supervisors so I'm pretty worried about this. I have no performance evals or write ups that have this information listed either. Any advice on what to do for the PHF?
I've also held multiple jobs from the age of 15 and hopped around a little due to being an athlete in high school and college, would that be a disqualifying factor?
As you can see from the title, what is the difference between EMS/Community Resilience Officer and EMS Battalion Captain and what do they do?
