One Republic truck just picked up trash and recycling on my street

Last week’s pickup was delayed due to snow. But I just watched everyone’s trash and recycling get dumped into the same truck, and I’m wondering where to report it.

  1. I’m not happy that all that recycling just got trashed and
  2. We pay for 2 separate services and one of them didn’t happen this week.

Looking for an office (closet) near downtown.

I'm hoping to find a very reasonably priced office near downtown. The actual office specifics don't matter much (basically, a closet with a mailbox). It just needs to have a commercial mailing address and needs to be accessible to UPS/FedEx/our technicians. Anybody know of anything that will meet my needs?

'Sleeper Rooms' at Bronson

I have a necessary out-patient thing coming up at Bronson but, as I live alone, I don't have anyone willing to get up at 0500 and drive me 40 miles to Bronson, hang around for 6 or more hours and then drive me back again - and then stay with me for 24 hours. (lawyers, I guess.) So, they told me they have 'sleeper rooms' where they would prefer I stay for the night. I would like to drive home when they're done but I could hear the horror in the nurse's voice when I said so.

Has anyone done this? What can I expect there? Will they feed me (I wouldn't have eaten since dinner the day before). Will I be a 'prisoner'? Or could I go out to my car and get things, hang out, and then head back in?

I ask because I deal with a condition where being in places that are not mine and not being in control of my immediate surroundings wigs me out and often triggers a not-all-that pleasant response. And, in all my 66 years this will be the first time as an adult I'll be at a place out of my control and I'm freaking out about even the thought of it now.

Any advice or positive input would be appreciated.

Fishing boat charters that would be good for beginners?

My Dad and my brother are flying out from the UK at the end of June next year. None of us have ever been fishing before but they're really into the idea of chartering a boat and heading out onto one of the great lakes.

Is this possible or worth doing for us? My dad has his skipper license but I'm not sure that will matter at all lol

Just another giant thank you 🤗

As I’ve mentioned before in previous posts. I just want to thank everyone who I’ve cleaned for in the past and still presently clean for. You’re all amazing. With that being said. I just surpassed 1 year as a small woman based business owner. As a thank you to this community for helping me establish a name for myself. I would like to do a small giveaway for a one hour clean.

If you would be interested please comment one thing you are looking forward to in the New Year. I will pick a winner after the 1st of the year. Again, Thank you all for being amazingly supportive and kind 🫶🏼 Keep being you!

What the heck are these cones?

I’ve always wondered what these little cones are on top of the library. Are they just for decoration?

Any pet stores selling freshwater shrimp other than ghost shrimp?

With the below freezing weather I don’t want to order online so if someone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

Also, if you have some and want to sell me some, I’d happily buy any colored freshwater shrimp. I am primarily looking for brighter colors(cherry, pumpkin, red panda.) but right now any will do.

Book Repair shops near by?

My Grandmother passed away last month and this week, my aunt gave me my Grandmother's family Bible that was originally bought by her maternal grandfather. The Bible was manufactured in 1875 and is very ornate, but it is starting to fall apart. Are there any good book repair shops near by?

Got a job in Allegan and not familiar with area, which route is best?

I have very minimal experience driving in the snow. Eventually I'll move closer. Any recommendations on areas to move to are welcome. I know Allegan has a few apartment complexes

Local Holiday Music!

Hi everyone.

Now that we're officially into the holiday season, I thought I'd share some of my various holiday music for anyone interested. For those who don't know, I'm a local solo artist under the name Matt Squared. My holiday music includes originals and a few adaptations. It's got aliens, Santa, Black Friday, and spooky stuff. For those who are interested in checking out something holiday, but a bit different, I'd love it if you gave it a shot! Thanks!

Most of it can be found on the album Synthmas Tidings: https://open.spotify.com/album/0BkbX2RtzddTqRluuq55nz?si=HXgPqMxGQ4WR03ea8ckV3A

Outside of that album, I have a single titled Twas A Dark Christmas Night: https://open.spotify.com/track/7G4s5HFQYzKdbrpHikH9VX?si=860fc8b6d8c34503

Friendly reminder to please clear your vehicle of snow before driving

This being our first major snowfall of the year, I just wanted to remind people to please be courteous to your fellow drivers and clear your vehicles of snow before getting on the road. That includes your lights, mirrors, windows, and roof. Significant snow/ice on the roof of your vehicle can fly off and hit and/or hinder the visibility of those behind you.

That is all, stay safe and warm this weekend. ❤️

Job Prospects

Hi Kzoo! My husband and I are moving to the area from Kansas City in January. I have a job lined up with the Battle Creek VA, but my husband will need to find a job. How’s the job market? He’s a veteran and has varied experience, from chemical/ solvent to mechanical (diesel and small motor).

I’ve used the search feature and have noted companies who are consistently mentioned, but wanted to see if anybody had any other recs.

Edit to add; thank you all for the suggestions- much appreciated. He was able to summit a few applications yesterday and will continue to work on more.

Looking for a place to buy kerosene from a pump

Can anyone recommend where to buy kerosene from a pump south of downtown where I can fill my own containers?

Meijer on Shaver road in Portage in the past sold kerosene from a pump but not anymore.

Thank you in advance.
