I couldn’t find this film available anywhere but Kanopy came through!!
Daisy Ridley gives an incredible performance in this bleak rom com.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I reached out to Kanopy for support.
This photo was taken from about two feet away. It seems imposing to browse. Any ideas?
It says "This samsung tv version l isn't supported. To watch kanopy, see help.kanopy.com for a list of supported devices". It was working just fine a few days ago.Am I permanently unable to use it now? I've tried looking for updates of my tv but can seem to find any.Any help would be appreciated.
I'm just gonna flat out & say, not only is this now my favorite stop motion movie ever, but easily one of the best animated movies ever made! It's emotionally charged, beautiful, hilarious, sad, but also full of tenderness & hope. One of the rare films that can make you tear up from laughter, 😂 as much as it can make you cry. 😭
Currently on Kanopy, I can't recommend it enough!
Whenever I have subtitles turned on I find that more often than not they're either too fast or too slow relative to what's on screen. I'd love to know if it's a site wide problem or somehow something only im experiencing on Kanopy
It's happened more than once where I rent a title and it turns out the quality is about 480p or so. Is there any way to tell whether the title is in HD or not?
This seems like the kind of detail that'd be included in the description section, but I didn't see anything about video quality.
The Great Courses used to be credit-free. I haven't used Kanopy in a while and I see it's now 5 tickets (is that for every individual lecture or the whole series)
I know, I ships do a search on it, but my second question is if there are ones anyone particularly recommend (if on Kanopy). Thnx
I've spent tickets on a few things this month. I have had to stop watching halfway through to handle life stuff I come back to find they are gone and cannot be found in search(not even 24 hours after tickets used). Am I just having incredibly bad luck with timing or what?
Today I was in the middle of the Occult docuseries, can't recall the title. When I looked up some of the other titles I was watching they show on Google but when I open the links I get a "not available at your library."
I'm just looking for some recs to watch. Also it would be interesting to know if you liked it or not. The last thing I saw was called The Rise of the Synths. It had John Carpenter in short bit of it. Overall not that interesting and some of the people in it spoke in foreign languages and there was no subtitles provided.
Just tried to watch the 2023 version of the Three Musketeers and the only option for English is closed captions. Why no subtitles? I don’t need every bit of music and every grunt described in text.
Scrolling tiles on Kanopy I saw Boiling Point and assumed it was the 2021 film but surprised to find out it's been turned into a series with most of the same cast! That was one of my favorite movies of that year. The series is five episodes and costs three tickets for each one. That's kind of a drag but so far I'm on episode three and enjoying it. It's a lot heavier than the movie and the one-take gimmick is only done in the first ten minutes of the first episode.
Highly recommend watching this 2 part movie series. Not your typical Bollywood with song and dance. Has a few Godfather inspired frames. But the characters and social themes are so real and truly reflect their times. This series launched the careers of a dozen actors outside nepotism channels.
My library gave me 12 tickets for the month & I went down to 6 in 2 movies :(
Is this normal? I thought each film was only 2 tickets but I guess I was wrong
Good french films in kanpoy?
Hi all, I'm based out of India and I really want to watch this one indie movie that is only available on Kanopy for some reason, and I do not have access to Kanopy. I would be very grateful if someone could help me out by sharing their creds, will just download the one movie and log out instantly. Will use an American proxy too, obviously. Thanks in advance :)
I was able to sign up for library cards from two other systems that give reciprocity to my county taking my monthly kanopy tickets to 85!!!
Hi!
I am trying to sign up with my card but I only have a barcode with numbers in the back of the card, is this supposed to be my card number? and what is the pin then?
thanks!
When looking to find out where a movie is streaming through a search engine such as Just Watch or Roku, Kanopy never shows up. I just spend $4.99 renting the movie Past Lives when it was on Kanopy the whole time! It never came up as being on Kanopy when I searched for it. In the future, I'll always check Kanopy just in case.
That movie was so funny and bad I’m surprised Kanopy put it up
I can't find it anywhere! Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
It's not about Canada. It's one of those films that will never stream anywhere but Kanopy, I'd wager. It's Ukrainian, and it's about the Donbas in 2013, when it was a kind of covert ear, when the airliner got shot down. Regardless of the subject matter, this is a beautiful and heartfelt film. Acting and cinematography alone make it a must-watch, but it's just as worth it as a document of modern war and the plight of non-combatants.
Just wanted to say how much I love this service. Thank you for so much amazing content!
Is there a way to clear the viewing history? Using it on an AppleTV.
Long unavailable, more of an oddity than a classic, this hard boiled tough-guy cringe flick is notable for its gorgeous 1969 San Francisco and Vegas locations and the yet to be famous stellar cast. Peter Falk, John Cassavetes together for the first time, but this is no art flick. It's an Italian director and some hungry actors looking for a quick paycheck and cashing in. Cassevetes signed on to get cash to make films. Brit Eckland is shockingly young, and the cities are a trip back in time.
I have an Ipad I use to watch Kanopy and an lg tv, I have used the airplay feature 2 times. The first time it worked perfectly with the normal airplay method but the 2nd is where I ran into trouble, I tried it the normal way over and over again to no avail but I discovered if I used the screen mirroring feature THEN clicked on the video it worked perfectly. Now both methods do not work at all, any tips?
I found that I can add Kanopy to my tv but when I opened the app and logged in, I noticed that it’ll be incredibly hard for my mother to use because everything is small. Is that the case for everyone who uses the tv app? Is it something I can fix for my mom’s bad eyes? It’s not something she can use to easily without me home to help with the fine reading.
I saw that others were getting errors when adding a movie to their watchlists. It's easily recreatable, but until the developers fix it, a workaroyis to visit your watchlist first before trying to add a movie to it. After you do this, you should be able to add a movie to your watchlist without issue. At least this worked for me.
I have some unused tickets at the end of the month so I'm activating a few TV series (I never really looked at their TV shows before because each episode was a whole credit before the switch to tickets, an advantage to this confusing new system).
TV Series 3-5 tickets for 72hrs - 21days!
There doesn't seem to be any consistency to which shows (old v new, or by studio) have longer available times, except The Great Courses all seem to be 21 days. I am especially interested in the 21 day availability shows but the 14 day shows are worth a mention.
TL;DR If you know of a TV series on Kanopy with 21 or 14 day availability please comment here. Thanks
