"The Christian life is not adding Jesus to one's own way of life but renouncing that personal way of life for His and being willing to pay whatever cost that may require."

Awhile back I listened to a MacArthur sermon on GTY and in it one of the illustrations he used was a time elders in the church tried to have him step down and how he almost stepped away from the ministry. Does anyone know it off the top of their head which one it is?
The reformation was heavily influenced by freemasons. They're creed has always been to destroy Christianity. They are very deceitful. They built America and every President has been a mason. No matter what party they're in. They're rivalry is a lie. They're all masons, including Trump and Biden.
John Macarthur peaked my interest when i saw how rich he is. As it turns out he's part of a long line of masons. And scottish of course. He's well known for spouting masonic language and calling it Christian. He's a calvinist, which is masonic. I mean he has repeated masonic phrases during sermons that are identical to masonic speeches from others. His slaves book has a masonic symbol. Spurgeon was a mason and church denominations are full of them. While Macarthur has been known to "attack" freemasonry, he attacks the many misunderstandings of it. Masons are free to do so. The things that matter are kept in secret.
People don't realize the true nature of the world we live in. This sinful world is a pitfall. We were told to come out of it. We do that by the knowledge of God in his bible. Not strictly by the mouths of men. The Bible is a mid-acts dispensational book which is something no denomination will tell you. Reading the Bible that way blows their lies out of the water and leads you to true salvation. To be called a Christian is to be called saved. And that only arrives through our knowledge, understanding, and belief of the gospel of grace as given through Paul. Any other way leads to Hell. And that's the whole reason why the land of the freemasons is full of church buildings all set up to lead you away from the truth. Either you care enough to seek him diligent or you're the lazy minded soul who wants to use God to get what you want by asking a pastor to save you. God left the Biblenfor you to open and read. Read it right and it'll save you. Read it like churches do and it'll become a curse of confusion with no spiritual growth or understanding.
Here's the proof of what we're living with in the world. https://watch.pairsite.com/macarthur-6-freemasonry.html
Hello All,
I would like to get his commentary but when I looked at GTY it is out of stock. Is there another place where I could order it? I looked at amazon and it was $800 for the physical copy.
Also, I am not a pastor should I not order his commentary when it becomes available since that could delay an actual pastor from ordering it?
Thank you for your time,
A fellow slave of Christ
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:16-17 – English Standard Version 2011)
In Genesis 2:16-17 God commands Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was in the garden of Eden. The phrase "in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die" has made people think that the death of which this verse speaks is not the typical death that people suffer.
17 And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life; 18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field. 19 By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:17-19 – English Standard Version 2011)
Thus all the days that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died. (Genesis 5:5 – English Standard Version 2011)
As we can understand from the passages inserted above, the death of which Genesis 2:17 speaks is precisely the typical death that people suffer.
In Genesis 2:17 God tells Adam that he would have died if he had eaten of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. After he had committed the sin of eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, God told him that he would be returned to dust, as Genesis 3:19 says; and so it happened, as Genesis 5:5 affirms. In fact, verse 17 does not denote the fact that the man died just in the day in which he ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It would be as if God made the following statement: "In the day that you commit a crime, the children you will have in the future will die prematurely". It is clear that the children of this hypothetical person will not die just in the day that such person will commit a crime, since his children are not even born. This is the meaning of the verse. Sooner or later, in the course of his life, Adam died. Therefore, Adam suffered the death that men suffer because of sin, for the wages of sin is death:
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. (Romani 5:12 – English Standard Version 2011)
3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. (Revelation 11:3-4 - English Standard Version 2011)
7 And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, 8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified. (Revelation 11:7-8 - English Standard Version 2011)
11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. 13 At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. (Revelation 11:11-13 - English Standard Version 2011)
The two witnesses mentioned in Revelation 11:3 are called "olive trees" in Revelation 11:4. The two olive trees are the Jews and the non-Jews who form the church (see Romans 11:16-24). In these passages of Revelation reference is made to the church during the three-and-a-half-year period of the great tribulation. In fact, the 1,260 days in Revelation 11:3 correspond to three and a half years. During the tribulation, the beast, i.e. the Antichrist, will make war on the saints, i.e. the church; he will conquer them and will kill them (see Revelation 13:7).
I want to point out that the events of the book of Revelation are not all placed in chronological order in the book. Certain events in the book will occur earlier than certain events in the book first, and/or later than certain events in the book later. Also note that the two witnesses will not prophesy in the sense that they will receive prophecies from God, since prophecies ceased when the Scripture was completed (1 Corinthians 13:8-9). If there are no more prophecies from God, consequently there are no more prophets, neither will there be during the period of great tribulation. Revelation 11:3 uses a symbolic language by saying that the two witnesses will prophesy.
The great city mentioned in Revelation 11:8 is Babylon the great (see Revelation 16:19; Revelation 18:10). Babylon the great is Jerusalem, which is symbolically called Sodom and Egypt, where "their Lord" (i.e. Christ) was crucified, as Revelation 11:8 says. In fact, Christ was crucified in Jerusalem.
The three and a half days in Revelation 11:11 symbolize the three and a half years of the great tribulation. At the end of this period of tribulation, there will be the second coming of Christ, the resurrection of the just and the rapture will take place (see 1 Corinthians 15:52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:4; Revelation 20:6). Revelation 11:11 precisely describes the resurrection of the just and the rapture, but only of the just who will die during the period of the great tribulation.
The events of the killing, resurrection and ascension to heaven in a cloud of the saints during the period of the great tribulation have a connection with some events of Christ's life; since Jesus too was killed, after three days he resurrected (see Mark 8:31) and after he resurrected he was taken up to heaven and a cloud hid him (see Luke 24:51; Acts 1:9).
Moreover, Revelation 11:12-13 says that there was great earthquake and that the survivors were terrified after the two witnesses went up to heaven. This relates to certain things that happened after Christ died, which are described in the following biblical passages:
50 And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. 51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. (Matthew 27:50-51)
54 When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified, and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!" (Matthew 27:54)
Why does John MacArthur believe God doesn't work miracles through Christians anymore? I find no good reason other than his personal belief that they're no longer needed to communicate God's will for us.
I've seen this one several times and wondered if anyone knew the source. Thanks!
“When somebody mentions they have a female pastor of their church, I immediately reply that they do not have a pastor and they do not have a church.”
Can someone explain where Macarthur differs from the Catholics on faith by works? Catholics believe, in my understanding, that IN ADDITION to accepting Jesus, you must act the part. Macarthur has the same view-you can't just say Jesus is your savior, but you must live a Christian life. So why does he attack their doctrine in this particular area?
