Watching season 3 episode 5 where Joe and Sarah go to see a magician, and this line stuck out to me.
Someone brought up a funny post about Joe Pera and Josh O’Conner in Challengers and that got me thinking “what else could Joe Pera be in and win Best Actor for?”
Forrest Gump comes to mind, Paper Moon does as well.
Has any/everyone here seen this Netflix special? It's unapologetically wholesome in the same way as JPTWY, and I think you all might like it.
There was a discussion at r/AbbottElementary about Gregory's diet of boiled chicken and buttered noodles, and it reminded me of this song:

And this song is just wholesome and beautiful:
I noticed that there’s now ads at the end of the sleep podcast episodes :( they wake me up every time now.
Finally got around to watching the movie “Challengers” and I couldn’t help but think that the two main male characters (played by Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor) could have just as easily been played by Joe Pera and Conner O’Malley.
Was wondering if anyone else got those vibes.
Maybe its time to take the kids on a drive to the lake again.
So, I’m on the third season of the bear and hear a song that I’ve only heard one other place. The song, “Up On the Roof” has a wholesome feel and seems to be lyrically describing a characters prominence on the show jptwy. In typical fashion for jptwy, there is no context for the mashup of randomness. But I guess it is adult swim, so whatever. The song both on the bear and jptwy are different versions but note worthy. The first connection between the two shows I noted was obviously actor Carmen Christopher. He plays Carlos in jptwy and Chester in the bear. Does anyone have any thoughts? I feel like there are one or two more things that I can’t remember at the moment. Also they have played a couple or more songs from the “Dumb and Dumber” soundtrack.
basically, what the title says. I’m in my mid-30’s and have been moving around a bit for the past 6-7 years. originally I’m from Ohio, but lived close to Detroit for a few years, then moved to upstate NY and now I live in CO. I went through a divorce that turned my world upside down, and I’ve just been searching for home ever since. there’s something so incredibly comforting about the shows setting, and I find myself increasingly drawn to the simple life a small town brings. perhaps the U.P. is my next landing spot 🤔
I loved how pretty this sheet music looked in the episode and I want to be reminded of my favorite TV show every time I'm in my office!
(I know that this isn't an exact copy, the portrait at the bottom is different, but I think she looks cute!)
Like, I've just been listening to it for fun during the day sometimes. It has the same level of charm as the television show but exists in its own intriguing universe, I absolutely adore hearing Joe narrate hot air balloon rides, Red Dead Redemption gameplay, a Hans Christian Andersen story, and various ephemera like that. The interviews are also wonderful, it's fun to hear from Joe's standup friends and also from unique people like the music store owner or the motion capture actor. I can tell a lot of effort goes into editing it too.
Sadly not a real site 🥲
Man U have been absolutely atrocious this season.
I wonder what she thinks about the new manger sidelining Marcus Rashford for so long.
Good for me, I guess. But would it work in the US (and elsewhere) through VPN?
Haven't seen it mentioned here, so I thought I'd let you know
Here are some of mine:
-The saloon piano theme in the breakfast episode.
-The fall drive folk song. So simple but poignant.
-The choir's covers of "On the Roof" and "The Mighty Quinn."
So we made this thumbnail for it. Song suggestions?
It’s a movie about Alvin Straight, a 73 year old man who takes his lawnmower from Wisconsin to Illinois to visit his brother who just had a stroke. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like in those microscopic towns in the Midwest that lie off the beaten path, the first 27 minutes absolutely hit the nail on the head.
Also I’d like to say rest in peace David lynch who directed this movie also rest in peace Richard Farnsworth, who had bone cancer while they filmed this movie.
Nana's just being modest
I can’t seem to find the episode where Joe talks about his inability to keep his eyes open. Can anyone remind me which episode this was?
Love this show and glad I was able to see them all and rewatch most with my wife before HBO took them down.
