Jimmie Nicol - for 13 days in 1964, substitute drummer for The Beatles.

Jimmie (or Jimmy) Nicol performed with The Beatles for 13 days in 1964 when Ringo Starr was laid low by tonsillitis. He appeared with them on television and on stage and experienced first hand the rush of early Beatlemania. He subsequently recorded and toured with The Shubdubs and Swedish group The Spotnicks.

One of the reasons that Nichol was chosen to tour with the Beatles was that his band had produced a series of covers of popular songs for discount record labels, so he already had experience playing a lot of Beatles songs. Here's an album featuring their Beatles covers.

A photo of Jimmie Nicol, alone and contemplative at Melbourne's Essendon Airport, while waiting to return home on June 15, 1964. Ringo rejoined the Beatles the day before.
