  • Jetball is a futuristic combination of basketball and soccer, with the added twist of a powerful jetpack. Maintain your speed by bunny hopping (or skiing) across the terrain, giving way to unrestricted movement.

Pass between teammates using one-timers to add style points to your score. Like basketball, scoring from a longer distance results in higher points and rewards. Stop the enemy from scoring in your teams goal by intercepting passes, or with the aid of 4 unique weapons included in every athletes loadout.

    [Suggestion] game type/styles

TL:DR = use TR2 as a reference not an exact guide . 3 game modes Basketball, Hockey, & Rugby?

Hello, new here, but use to play TR2 (not as much as some of the testers, but I played some matches ). Anyways, I'm hoping JetBall gets more of a following than TR2 did :(

What I'd like to suggest is 3 game modes. First a basketball type mode.. basically what you have now except a smaller goal (circular), tilted (if not horizontal) (and possibly have it move?) ball thrown w/ arc?

2nd) a more hockey style game (goal like TR2 w/ goalie) the change in this mode is that the ball (or puck) is always moving (no holding.. players shoot or touch the ball to change its direction) also players are able to move around in the sky (JET) more freely (players move more like a shrike ... with limited energy before respawn)

3rd) not really sure what to call /compare this to ("footbal/rugby/lacrosse" ) but this brings back the JACKPOT to Jetball (which I think adds a dynamic to the game (scoring)... also encourages team play/passing) (possibly requires player to pass move into goal area? (2 or 3 areas to choose from?)

from the videos I'm only seeing the spinfusor, will there be the chain & GL also? I liked the GL & disc for knocking players around, and then the disc & CG for beating up the ball carrier. (will there be O/D definitions?)

[Suggestion] Some way to tell when the ball is available for pickup again after throwing it

There is a 2-3 second timer on the ball after throwing it that prevents self-passing. There should be a visual indication to the thrower that they can't pick up the ball within this time. This causes unnecessary confusion, if you try to do a wall bounce you might be unsure if you missed the ball or if the timer wasn't up.

A possible solution that would avoid cluttering the hud with another timer could be to make the ball look different while it is inactive, only in the eyes of the thrower. It could lose the outside pink rings or in some other way go grey. Is it possible to have the ball look different to one specific person? A visual cue like this would be very intuitive for new players

    Running a Dedicated Server (Alpha)

This guide assumes you already have Jetball installed via Steam.

    1. Locate file "JetballServer-Win64-Shipping.exe" generally found in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Jetball\Jetball\Binaries\Win64

    1. Right click on "JetballServer-Win64-Shipping.exe" and create a shortcut (or send to desktop)

    2. Right click on the shortcut and click "Properties"

    3. In the shortcut target add the following (there should be a space in between the original target and the line below)

    "Arcadium?ServerName=My Name?listen" -log

E.g. This is how my server is setup (the map name has to be first):

    "..\Jetball\Binaries\Win64\JetballServer-Win64-Shipping.exe" "SnowDrift?ServerName=Buca Official Test?listen" -log

5)Open port 7777 on your firewall and router

If you wish to connect over LAN you may have to shutdown steam on the computer before running the dedicated server.

Also to connect over LAN you will likely have to connect via direct IP using the dedicated server internal IP (usually something like 192.168.1.2).
