Jesse Thomas Brown - "Jerry Lee". A heart-felt and irreverent song about the man's life. Jerry Lee Lewis has survived the deaths of ALL other competitors to the title: The King of Rock and Roll. Long Live Jerry Lee Lewis! [OC]

Just sharing this frame I made that I’m sure others will appreciate too. My Grandad wanted to display his signed vinyl and the photo of him, my Nan and Jerry Lee when they saw him at Chatham Central Hall, UK in 1972, but didn’t know how to. A trip to Hobbycraft for materials and this was the result!

Not vintage Jerry Lee, but I really like this quite funky version of Before The Night Is Over from Keeps Rockin’ in ‘78. I’ve just recently noticed the album is available on streaming services having not been for years.

Grandpa used to play with Jerry Lee

Thought I'd share the stories I grew up hearing about how my Grandpa played guitar with Jerry Lee, Carl Perkins, George Jones etc way back when before they were famous. God bless.

Dad met Jerry

My dad’s college friend’s dad owned a store in KC around 1980. The store co-sponsored a small music festival that would feature the Killer himself. My dad was/is a huuuge fan. Anyway my dad and his friend were assigned to pick Jerry Lee up at the airport—small private one in the area.

They drove right onto the tarmac to Jerry and the bands’s jet and picked them up. Jerry didn’t say much, but backstage my dad got to have a long conversation with Kenny Lovelace. After the show they returned everybody to the tarmac. As Killer turned his back to walk to the plane, My father, somewhat inebriated, couldn’t help himself and shouted “you’re the greatest Jerry Lee!”

The Killer turned back to him, shook his finger a bit and said “there was one greater, son, but he’s gone now”. Surprising humility from Jerry Lee—admitting there was ever somebody greater than himself! He was referring to Elvis, of course, whose death was 3 years before.

Hernandos Hideaway Staff Relief

As many of you know, Hernandos Hideaway is legendary in the rockabilly community. As well as being Jerry Lee Lewis’s stomping grounds.

It’s also where the Ameripolitan Music Awards are held each year.

This place is the real deal. The last old schoolin’ no foolin’ beer drinkin’ shot shootin’ roadhouse honky Tonk lounge!

The staff is amazing and the burgers are the best in Memphis!

If you’re able, please help them out during this tough time!
