his music blends unique styles with deep personal experiences, creating tracks that resonate on multiple levels. His sound combines the energy of underground street culture with emotional storytelling, reflecting his journey, growth, and ambition. If you’re looking for music that not only hypes you up but also speaks to the grind, leadership, and pushing through adversity, OB223 delivers that with authenticity. Plus, his beats and lyrics reflect a relentless pursuit of being better than the day before, which could inspire you to keep elevating your own game.
We will perform at an outdoor stage at Wasedasai on November 3rd. Details will be announced later. We hope to play overseas as soon as possible! Please stay updated with us, thank you!

I just broadcast a show on WFMU focusing on the ELECTRIC CIRCUIT For 80s all night punk festival held in 1979 Yokohama Japan. It features Lizard, Friction, Sheena & The Rokkets and so much more of the earliest bands that helped spark this scene that we all love. Archive is available now and free to listen! https://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/144784

Hey everyone, I’m planning a trip to Japan soon and would love to catch some local shows, particularly in the screamo, post-rock, and post-hardcore scenes. Does anyone know good venues, bars, or clubs where these kinds of shows are regularly hosted? I’ll be visiting Tokyo and Osaka so recommendations for any of these areas would be great!
Also, if there are any specific websites or social media groups where I can check for live events and underground gigs, please let me know. Any tips on local bands to check out would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
A musician’s musician. Deep understanding of jazz, phenomenal chord selection - an insanely skilled multi-instrumentalist.
Crazy young and super individual too with a bright future.
Clearly influenced by Yano Akiko on this track in particular - others are totally different and electronic - I’d recommend going through her full discography.
Pretty much the title, it was an official website that would link albums to purchase and youtube MVs for the individual indie groups. It was pretty popular. Not sure why it went defunct, but I can't find anything else like it. Thanks for any help!
Major Hosono Tropical Dandy vibes - I’m so glad there’s a band making this music in Tokyo in 2024
First gig in Oriental force, second one in environment 0g.
I will play some weird noise-drone, ambiente-y soundcapes.
Feel free to send me a DM if you're interested. Could be fun to have a drink!

I'm a DJ based in London travelling to Japan in early October across Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto.
I've done some research on Tokyo but am trying to navigate Osaka and Kyoto as well and was looking for some pointers please.
What sort of clubs would facilitate experimental/underground dance music in either location? Can be techno to footwork, to noise to ambient. From what I understand a club can have many different nights in the same venue across the month. When looking at Tokyo places like Circus and Vent had some international names but I'm more interested in local DJs/nights.
Also I've been looking into reaching out to a few stations to dj some music. I've reached out to Tokyo community radio and was wondering if there are any similar types of station in Osaka and Kyoto please?
Many thanks!
Vacant Wave sing in English mostly and they sound like a marriage between Galaxie 500 and Yo La Tengo. This new EP just came out:
Witness Void Pulse—the world’s first virtual visual kei band—a savage blend of avant-garde metal, death metal, and the twisted elegance of visual kei. Our latest release, FLESH FOR FLESH, is a brutal hymn to the Wendigo, where beauty and horror collide in a feast of sound that tears at your very core. Void Pulse is the unholy marriage of human creativity and the darkest AI sorcery, forging music that is relentless, haunting, and raw.
Don’t just listen—experience FLESH FOR FLESH in full. Follow Void Pulse on Spotify and descend into the abyss we’ve created.
Years ago I used to listen to album by an underground japanese band, I think it was from the 70's but maybe early 80's. The album was on YouTube.
The only lyric I remember from one of the songs is 'your face is groovy...like a sculpture '.
Male singer.
I'm sorry it's not much to go on! I've been googling now and then for awhile but can't seem to find anything even with AI.
I think the album art was orange or reddish. Had a cool modernist graphic design look. 🙏🙏🙏
