I undestand there is some significant change between early pre-2004 models and later ones. What exactly is it and what are the pros and cons of each version of the AWD system?
My big bros Jag red and black interior.
How do I know which models have the ingenium engine?
I'm looking at a 2019 F-Pace and 2019 XF, both 20d, do they both have Ingenium engines?
My grandfather owns a 2010 XKR. The car is literally the best vehicle I've ever driven. Unfortunately, I'm too tall to fit in it comfortably. I know that the XJ and XF R and supercharged can still scratch that itch, but the XK's interior and styling is just something you can't get anywhere else. Anyone else experience this? May buy an XK soon but if I can't fit comfortably I'm reluctant.
The “06 Xj8 that I drove for eleven years needed extensive suspension repairs, so I decided to buy this 2018 XJ R-Sport.
Good day, I have been sent a link by JLR for the online assessment for personality, situational judgement and numerical analysis, can anyone give me some tips , insights and tricks as to how to crack this assessment?,
After months of going back and forth between 981 Cayman and F Type R Dynamic - I went for the F type in Caldera Red and Alcantara seats. Looking for following recommendations from fellow F Type owners.
Can it be a daily driver in a Canadian winter - If yes, what tires you use and how do you maintain it
I aim to drive this 10-12 KM per year - What tips you have to maintain it effectively and what major breakdown is expected around 70-80K KM and how much should I keep aside
Where do you service your F type in Toronto Canada - Dont think I can afford a dealership inflated cost of maintenance
I tend to drive hard - Should I reconsider after market breaking system
Caldera red looks beautiful but I am worried about paint chips - How do you folks manage this - Any PPF recommendations
Any F Type meet up group near Toronto - trying to learn from experienced owners
What are some of modifications you have done that you are really happy about
Any last minute checks I can do before the pick up (most of the PPI findings are getting addressed)
Any other general suggestions to make the most of the car.
Apology for long list of questions - cant wait to pick it up
I have a few problems:
· My siblings, who are all married and annoyingly happy, keep asking for lifts.
· I don’t currently own a Jaguar
· I have £30k burning a hole in my pocket
My theory is that I could solve all of the above problems by selling my Ford Focus RS and buying a 2017 Jaguar F-Type 3.0 V6 in British Racing Green. I’m quite confident in my plan, but do any of you see a flaw in my maths?
Hello.
I've been looking at a 2018 Jaguar XF with 80k miles on it. I want to get about 8 years or another 80k miles out of it. Are they reliable past the 6 year/80k mark? What can I expect in terms of repairs? How much should it depreciate in price after 8 years/80k? Any info at all would be very valuable. Thanks!
Fingerprints and dust galore! Anyone have any tips or recommendations? Thanks!
Had the dealership put in a new engine. What should I check before I sign off on things?
Exactly what the title says: I had the dealership install a brand-new engine after, well… let’s just say I got a created a monster with a hot tune and some E-85 fuel. Boom. Engine done. Lesson learned. It was a fun 4 months.
So, the dealership swapped in the new engine, reset everything back to the factory settings, and let me know the gas tank was practically running on fumes. Here’s the kicker—they didn’t drain the leftover E-85, just started it up as-is and let it run for about 10 minutes. Now they’re telling me to bring gas when I come pick it up because it’s that low.
I’m guessing it’ll be alright if I top it off with 93 octane, but I’m also wondering—did they just roll the dice here, or am I good to go?
Oh, and in case anyone’s wondering, this is a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace that had a stage-4 VAP tune. The upgraded pulleys and modded supercharger went in with the new engine, so that one-year warranty is basically a figment of my imagination now. Yep, I know it was a gamble, but hey, I love that car… maybe a little too much.
How would you approach things if you were picking up the car after it’s under the hood operation?
My family and I were early adopters of electric vehicles, drawn in by the government's promises of encouraging environmentally friendly transportation. However, we now find ourselves facing an unfair financial burden. The government has decided that EV owners must pay a vehicle excise duty of £190 from our car’s second year onwards, while owners of older, smaller diesel cars registered before 2017 are still paying as little as £20 a year.
This is not just a personal issue, but of widespread concern. The discrepancy is glaring: older cars, with substantial CO2 emissions, end up paying less in VED than new EVs that emit no CO2 at all. This undermines the very concept of vehicle taxation that’s supposed to be based on a vehicle’s CO2 emissions and undercuts the incentive to go green.
Given the considerable benefits of electric vehicles in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, this decision seems counterproductive. According to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, a typical electric car in the UK may emit 60% less CO2 than a petrol car over the course of its life (source: UK Government).
This is an urgent appeal. The unjust taxation disincentivises the adoption of electric vehicles and hinders the country's progress towards environmental sustainability. We call on the government to rethink its decision and foster equitable taxation that truly reflects a vehicle's impact on the environment. Please sign to make your voice heard.
The UK government says: From 1 April 2025, drivers of electric vehicles will need to pay for VED – road tax. Announced by the Government in the 2022 Autumn Budget, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt stated: “To make our motoring tax system fairer I've decided that electric vehicles will no longer be exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) Fairer for who? The continued freeze of fossil fuels prices at the pump, will cause the Government financial loss of significant revenue, the VED increases on low CO2, hybrid and EV vehicles will not offset the revenue lost for by the freeze on ICE CO2 generating vehicles.
Why would current electric owners keep their vehicles when the benefits of owning such a vehicles?

Didn't find it in owner's manual
Hello all. I'm in a bit of a quandary.
I want to update my sat nav but the location in the boot/trunk is completely sealed?
There is no access panel you can pull away no cut out in the carpet.
Anyone have this issue?
When I park my XF it makes a ticking sound from the front for about 2-3 minutes after. It starts faster then gradually slows down to a stop. Does anyone know what this could be? It doesn’t seem to be affecting performance or anything but it’s kind of annoying. 2014 3.0d v6 engine.
Got a check engine in, no noticable issues. Took it in to check the codes and the certified repair shop is telling me this:
Finding: Downloaded intermittent DTC P0430 catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 2). Checked for exhaust leaks, graphed oxygen sensors while driving vehicle, noticed small dips on bank 2 sensor 2 oxygen sensor but not enough to indicate faulty catalytic converter. Found TSB JTB00605NAS1 for software update to address this code.
They are saying the catalytic converter and sensors check fine and they want to update the software.
Does this sound right? I have been avoiding software updates because I have read it muffles the exhaust sound/popping.
For context, it as a slow coolant leak. I took it to the local jaguar shop and first the guy said it was the outlet pipe and it had to be changed then he suggested changing all the gaskets too. A tube was broken at some point during the repair and that had to be replaced. Now he's saying he has to change the oil cooler which is a $700 part. Does this sound right to anyone? I feel like this job got way bigger than it needed to be.
New to the Jaguar scene, I have been shopping around and the 2018 Jaguar F-Type R has caught my eye. I looked around and couldn’t find any in-depth answers. I have a lot of car friends who constantly say “Jags are extremely unreliable” “they’re awful” all that jazz but im curious from the Jaguar community. Any good info about the car, good or bad is appreciated. Thank you all for your time.
I'm wondering the best option to keep my F-type carpet like new, and still keep a classy feel in the interior. Has anyone tried Wilamats? Thoughts? Would you do it again? Pics please!
