At the car wash. Working at the car wash, yeah.

Car washes have become so popular. They have been building them all over the place. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually put a car wash where that old bank is on San Jose Blvd and Kori.

Best sports bars to watch the Florida Georgia game today?

Preferably not to far from riverside and a gator bar if possible but open to other cool sports bars. Thanks!

cleanest hotel within 30-45 minutes from the airport

We just had a terrible stay at a very dirty vrbo house and want to spend our last night somewhere very clean so we can relax before flying home. Does anyone have any recommendations on very clean hotels? I know it may be excessive but we are all just exhausted from staying somewhere that was so uncomfortable. I know that the level of cleanliness can be subjective so just imagine the most OCD "clean freak" and where they'd be comfortable with staying. Like whatever you think that is and times it by 10. Thank you so much in advanced.

Barber Needed

So, I find myself looking for a new barber, being as my usual of several years no longer works weekends. Any recommendations on skilled barbers in town with experience shaping long, full beards and straight razor head shaves? Bonus points if they are open tomorrow and accept walk ins.

Language Groups/Polyglots?

Hey everyone!

I'm wondering if there's any languange-learning/polyglot groups in Jacksonville that meet up? Or any in-person lessons?

I know some Spanish, a little Italian, and I'm wanting to learn Arabic & Chinese. I have a really hard time concentrating on language apps. I grew up speaking Spanish but don't practice... I'd really love to practice with other people.

Thank you 💕

Just moved off of Hodges between Beach and Atlantic. Looking for hikes that I get get to within 20-40 minutes max from where I am. Prefer not Parks. Just looking for some good nature trails. Already searching on my own on the internet but interested in hearing what locals have to say.

Ladies in your 30s, where would you go to try to find a guy?

I'm so sick of online dating. I just got stood up a half hour before a date after I already showered and dressed and now I kinda just wanna go out alone and shoot my shot. 1. Where should I go? I'm 37m. And 2. Do women think it's creepy if a dude approaches them in public nowadays? Online dating has fucked up every facet of forming a relationship.

I'm just bored and want to go out. I'm on the northside though and there's nothing here. I'd have to drive somewhere.

Edit: ladies, feel free to message me. You already know more about me than any woman I've dated by knowing my Reddit name. I'm poor and bipolar, I'll save you the click😂

Is there a app for jax that let's you deliver stuff on a e bike?

I've seen people doing it before but idk if it's possible at all over here or nah? (if not then i guess i would have to use a car instead of a e bike)

Closed on a House Here in Jax (AMA)

Hello, I just moved into the Lakeshore area here in Jax yesterday (Spooky time to move in 🤣). First time homebuyer, and was shocked with how easy the homebuying process is. Theres tons of programs that make it possible to buy a home. All i gotta say is if you want to buy a house and dont know where to start, talk to a realtor. I had Lorri Reynolds from Watson realty and she was great. ( https://lmreynolds.watsonrealtycorp.com/ )

Date ideas tonight? (11/1)

We have a sitter for tonight and hoping to run out for a short date.

What's good to get into between 4:30 and 8? Late 30s couple, cant drink alcohol. We do kid related stuff literally all day every day, so I'd it's not kid approved that's even better.

ATT Fiber Questions

Hey all. Been a Comcast customer for over a decade and I'm interested in getting ATT Fiber for their 1Gbps down/up plan. Got a couple questions for anyone that has or had this service.

  1. Do they charge you a monthly modem/router fee?
  2. If not, do they make you buy the modem/router up front?
  3. Can I use my own modem?
  4. How is the service? Do you consistently get advertised speeds? If not, how simple/hard is it to get it resolved?
  5. It's fiber so it won't get to my house over the phone line, but Comcast is on the cable coming into my home, so how will the service get to me? Are they going to have to come out and lay a fiber cable through my yard? Is this free or will I be charged for it?

On their website, I put in my address and it says they provide 1000Mbps up/down service, I just don't know through what means it would be provided. Comcast has been mostly fine, but I consistently go over the 1TB monthly download cap so I have to pay an extra $50 a month for that. And with ATT Fiber there's no cap and the bill would still be $10-20 less.

I download a ton and my dad streams a ton and I often have to stop or slow my downloads so that my dad can watch his streams. I'm also backing up 37TB of data to Backblaze and with the 25Mbps upload speed I get from Comcast, it's going to take 4 months to complete whereas with the 1Gbps from ATT, it'd only take 4 days.

The service plan sounds great, I just don't want any surprises and want the transition to be as smooth as possible. Any insight would be greatly appreciated thanks!

EDIT: Thank you for the responses everyone! My dad has ATT cell service so he used his account to sign up for the 1Gbps ATT Fiber plan. It's going to be $62 a month (which is much better than the $96 a month for Comcast) and we're getting it installed next Saturday! Also just found out that Comcast is supposed to be providing us with 500Mbps down but the highest I've ever seen is 280Mbps and that's with a desktop computer connected directly to the modem with a CAT6 LAN cable! See ya Comcast!

Places to eat on Thanksgiving

We are tired of the same old same old turkey. We LOVE to cook, but want to spend the day enjoying each other's company rather than in the kitchen all day.

Does anyone have any recommendations for gooood food on Thanksgiving?

Tia

What is the worst banking app and why is it VyStar?

I've been fiddling with the VyStar app for almost 2 hours trying find a way for it to remember my log in information so I won't have to manually input the entirety of my username and password every single time. It doesn't help when after I so get past the log in page, I get redirected to another one asking how I want a one-time pass code sent to me to verify it is me.

Like, how does an app become this bad!? I've redone my password countless times. And when I chose to sign in an alternative way - like fingerprint or PIN, IT.DOESN'T.KNOW.ITS.ME

Small gas stations with only four pumps becoming a thing of the past.

Those small gas stations are starting to close. Large gas stations with lots of pumps are becoming more popular.
