Has anyone had experience in cob 487 online in winter 2 weeks with Ali Shahzad? Was it easy or hard? Trying to decide if I should enroll in this or just take it over the spring semester. I’d love to knock it out in 2 weeks but if it’s a ridiculous amount of work I’ll skip it. Thanks!
We have a group of a dozen or so of us comprised of alum and spouses who are coming in next weekend. Unfortunately, we’re in our mid (to late…..) 30s, and all our old haunts are closed.
Any recommendations for good restaurants or bars in town for an older crowd? We’re Dukes at heart so down to have a good time and have a few too many, but probably mostly aged out of the college scene.
Any alumni remember the name of a journalism professor Skip something? I remember him being a great guy but I just can’t remember his name.
Hello, I’m trying to determine if Professor Caitlin Gill is a suitable instructor for Art 200 online. RateMyProfessor only has three harsh reviews, and I’m interested in opinions from students who took her class this semester or even last semester.
me and some of my friends are visiting my jmu friend for halloweekend & went out to the frats last night but it wasn’t quite the scene we like
instead we were wondering if there were any bars that students like to go to to party/hang at night?
I want to go out and have fun tonight and this weekend, but I am kind of introverted and am struggling to find a group to go with. Any suggestions?
my boyfriends coming for halloweekend and i was wondering if there are any frats that tend to not charge men, and if not which frats tend to be cheaper than others. i was also wondering if you can usually just pay at the door or if u have to somehow pay in advance
I'm planning on taking Isat 112 with a lab for the physical principle section for gen eds, but I also still need a class for the natural systems section. Anyone got a suggestion for an easy one?
I've never gone to a game without the student ticket, so I was curious about something since I wasn't able t to get one this morning for the next game. If I get a ticket from seatgeek can I still sit in the student section? Or do I have to sit elsewhere?
This is my first year living off campus and I’m in a townhouse. Do kids trick or treat at houses near campus? I’d kinda feel bad if they do and I didn’t get any candy for them
Hey me and some friends are looking for some cardboard boxes to make out Halloween costume. Where can we find some
Hello Dukes, I am looking to sublease my room at a 4-room, 2-bath apartment at Hills Northview for the Spring 2025 semester. The rent is $475 per month, and most utilities except electricity, which is capped at $30 per month, are included in the monthly rent. You will be living with three laid-back guys during your time here.
I’m looking at the classes for next semester and a class I’d like to take comes with a lab. The thing is, the lab time listed overlaps with the class time. How is that possible?
This will be a longer than normal post, but I do have a few things to ask! Thank you to anyone who takes the time out of their day to read this! But I feel like if you read the reddit you're my target audience
So I will be finishing my time up at a VCCS( Virginia Community College) at the end up this Fall '24 semester! I plan on coming to JMU in Fall '25!! Sooooooo diving in........
Major - I currently work in a hotel , and I LOVE IT. Ever since I was little I wanted to work in a hotel, the second I turned 18 I got a job at one. I want to really apply/major in the HM program at JMU but don't know what it is really like. Virginia Tech has a nice page showing off their HM program but JMU's is a little different almost....unless I'm at the wrong place/site. Mainly because, I want to really make my life this industry, but don't know if I should just get a management degree instead of the hospitality.. If you're a current or former student pls help!! Also will I get judged, I know this is an easy major; but will the outcome be worth it?
Housing - I've seen on their transfer website/webpage that if you transfer you might as well just get off-campus housing. I plan on doing this, but how do I go about it? Just try and find my cliche but have never gone to the actually school. This is important to me because I'm a gay male, I know some dudes/girls don't have a problem but some almost want to know about it before hand. Or, what are some good places to live. If you transferred from a CC to JMU please tell me about your experience!!
General living- As mentioned before I am gay. What would you say that would be like for someone who is gay?? I'm not much of a party person, but will want a good time out and about.
Your thoughts - I've heard a lot of good things about JMU, from their sports to food, to living. I know my major isn't the biggest nor money making. But do you think JMU will be a good school for me??
If you read all of this thank you!! You're a kind soul, if the grammar is bad sorry! My phone is tweaking
I had a cool rock and I gave it to my friend. He dropped it while we were sitting on the hill watching the homecoming game. We were about 20 ft away from the cannon, see the black markings on the pic for reference to the platform.
If you find a cool, glass pebble looking rock on the hell hill, please enjoy it.
The rule about losing student ticket privileges if you miss two games in a semester. Does anyone know if returning a ticket on time still counts as an absence toward that rule, or are you safe as long as you return it in the allowed timeframe?
Me and my 2 roommates (5th years) are chill and don’t go out a ton but are willing to occasionally, we don’t want to host parties or large crowds at our apartment other than having a few friends over now and again. Have to be friendly to smoking as we smoke(weed) decently regularly. If you are interested to learn more please dm me, furthermore if you have any questions im more than willing to answer.
My roommates and I are looking for a 4 bedroom apartment or townhouse for next year. We were originally planning on living at Sun Chase but were told rent plus utilities would be around 850-950 a month. We still want somewhere with good reviews, but we wanna keep our budget around $700 or less per person. Any suggestions??
We rename the school Dukes University. What do you think?
Title says it what’s the easiest business major? I’m business management but was wondering if there was an easier one like marketing for example?
I have to take 3 more math credits for a grad school Im considering applying to. I've already taken Math 220 (stats), and my ALEKS score in freshman year was in the high 80s or whatever if I remember.
I want a math that is just running the numbers, not figuring out info from a paragraph, or writing essays. But not to the point where I'm having to do more than 3 hrs of work a week.
Hey yall I’m visiting my friends up here this Saturday and apparently it’s not actually halloweekend but it’s next weekend?? I thought it was with the week of homecoming?
i heard free parking is at the parking lots like R4 near Festival, (which i think is the correct lot it said R4) and my boyfriend parked there but when we got to his car he had a ticket? it had 0 charge but i literally thought it was free since it said so on the website and we couldn’t get a parking pass. he leaves tomorrow morning but i’m afraid he’ll get a ticket overnight.
It was found out front
Just curious on what you guys think the most popular SMAD concentration is? ( Creative Advertising, Digital Video and Cinema, Interactive Design, or Journalism)
I intend on flying back home over winter break and I'm going to shuttle to Dulles. However, I intend on flying back on January 15th. The main Dulles shuttle service Virginia breeze doesn't have any service after Jan 6th. I looked at the other 2 bus shuttle options and they aren't much better. Are there other options for me to get back to Harrisonburg from Dulles?
I'm wondering if anybody could share their experience with the speech communication sciences/disorders program here and how it compares to other schools' if they have that knowledge at all. Thanks :)
Subleasing at the Hills Southview starting December 2024 or January 2025.

As the text says above I got charged with these two things at an off campus party. My court date is a little over 2 weeks from now what should be my plan of action and should I be worried?
