“After the Great War, farmers found a plethora of unexploded ordnance, barbed wire, weapons, shrapnel and bullets while plowing their fields. They called it the Iron Harvest.”
The game is set in the 1920+ universe, an alternate reality where World War 1 was fought with mechs: terrifying walking machines that shook the earth when they walked.
Following a poll of RTS players, it was decided that players want a game focused more on tactics rather than clicks-per-second, with a strong singleplayer campaign, and heroes that were not super-units but a utility with a versatile skill set.

The Saxony Empire: An industrial powerhouse with strong military culture, the Saxony Empire was struck with unfavorable conditions of surrender following the Great War. The people grow restless, desperate to regain their honor. Saxony is excellent at taking and holding ground, with slow, heavily armored mechs and SMG-armed stormtroopers.
The Polania Republic: a large agricultural nation, bordered by the Saxony Empire and Rusviet. Polania is in a poor spot, stuck between two aggressive neighbors and little army infrastructure to defend with. The people themselves will need to rise up and defend their homes. Polania excels at long-range hit-and-run tactics with great early-game mechs.
Rusviet: A massive nation of immense military strength, but worn out by the Great War, threatening a revolution against the Tsar. To maintain power, the ruling class wages war, but will this war machine run out of steam? Rusviet has a mighty infantry, with larger squads wielding deadly close range shotguns. Be careful, though: the nation is used to plentiful resources, so building and repairing mechs is an expensive endeavor.

Is it possible to mod Iron Harvest? I physically can’t with what I play on(Xbox), but is it possible?
Hello, first of all I am not Turkish but since my country is probably a Saxon colony, I decided to move to the second option as it is the second country I like the most, and with my modest capabilities, I designed the mechs for this new faction.
Starting with the story, and since the forms of alliances in the Great War are not clear in this timeline, I will list the most important points that occurred and led to the developments that brought the country to its current state.
A group of officers seized power, keeping the Sultan as a nominal ruler only. Among these officers were the Minister of War Enver Pasha and General Mustafa Kemal Pasha. The main goal of the officers was the urgent modernization of the Ottoman Empire and the restoration of the glories of the past by re-establishing the dominance of the Balkans and North Africa as it had been in the golden age of the empire in order to end the title of the sick man of Europe and force the rest of the European powers to respect the most important Islamic empire in the world. The Ottoman Empire had already begun preparing to rebuild its former glory, but this was accompanied by a nationalist tendency influenced by nationalist ideas imported from Europa, which made the state institutions adopt fanatical nationalist policies. Employees and officers of Turkish origin were preferred to hold important positions in the government, and the Turkish language was imposed on the rest of the population from various communities, which led to the widening of the rift between the communities of the empire and the government in Istanbul, and they were viewed as tyrannical occupiers.
The advent of the Great War was the first test of the new capabilities of the empire. The new technologies invented by Tesla helped them achieve some victories at first, but poor planning and not taking enough time to complete the modernization process, in addition to all that, the rebellions that broke out against the empire in the Arabian Peninsula and the southern Caucasus, led to the destabilization of the position of the empire in the war. The final blow was the organized attack by Greece and Italy and Rusviet. The Greeks penetrated the western lands of the Anatolian coast, while the Italians attacked the southern coast. As for the Russians, they were able to realize their dream and conquer Constantinople, which completely shattered the morale of the Ottoman soldiers and people.
All these defeats caused a severe shock to the warriors who had always dreamed of restoring the glory of their country. Among them was Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who became furious after all these defeats and decided to lead what remained of the army himself in order to save what could be saved. He carried out a coup against the government of Enver Pasha to monopolize power for himself and no one would interfere in his work in order to lead the forces directly on the front lines. Mustafa Kemal Pasha began to mobilize again against the invaders and was able to completely expel the Italians and return the Greeks to the western coastal strip, but had it not been for the fact that the fighting capacity of all parties had been exhausted and in addition to the approaching end of the war after Tsar Nicholas agreed to an armistice between his country and the Saxony Empire, Mustafa Kemal Pasha decided to submit to the compelling circumstances and not to be reckless after he was able to preserve Turkey, so an armistice was signed with Greece and an agreement was offered to Rusviet requiring the transformation of Constantinople into a neutral territory and granting Russian state companies many privileges in the Bosphorus corridor. Because everyone was exhausted from the fighting, these conditions were agreed to and the borders of the region were redrawn and the capital was officially moved to Ankara.
The war is over but the pain and frustration in Mustafa Kemal's soul has not subsided. Anwar Pasha may have failed to achieve the greatest goal that made them enter the war in the first place, but he will not repeat the same mistakes and will seek again to build the state anew. Mustafa Kemal declared the end of the imperial era and the declaration of the republic. His popularity among the warriors and the people he saved from the worst possibilities increased his position among them until he was nicknamed Ataturk (Father of the Turks). Kemal Ataturk began the process of modernization and preparation again, which would be better studied and more prepared. He would do everything possible to revitalize the economy of the republic again, then turn to building a modern army in line with the capabilities of the republic in order to resume the counter-invasion operations and take revenge on all the forces that were the cause of his country’s defeat, using all possible means to rally the people to his side by strengthening nationalism and the feeling of superiority among the Turkish people in general and exploiting the religious feelings in the souls of the religious who still dream of jihad against the infidel invaders. While Europa is busy with its new conflict that completes the incomplete epic of the Great War, there is much that will happen in the south of the continent.
If you've reached this point, I hope you enjoyed the story and don't hesitate to tell me what you think about it, and visit my account to see the mechs I designed for the Turkish faction.
I just wanna play this game with someone as the Bots go from boreing to downright hard in a single level so anyone still even play this game?
Hi my Question is Iron Harvest Dead? Is there no more Content for the game or anything else? I would love to see what happens after the Usonia Campgain :(
Hi, I have the kickstarter reward bag which came with a steel case with soundtracks and the game on dvd.
Now I'm wondering if the game just installs from the dvd and works standalone without requiring steam to run?
I currently don't have a dvd drive so I can't check, but maybe someone here also has it and knows.
I tried to connect to the game and for some reasons I cant acces my account, even after accepting the EULA and disconnecting the steam cloud, still nothing, two of my frends buyed the game to try it for the first with me that paid it years ago, its exactly the same they cant acces...
None of the solutions we tried only worked, is it just us or the servers have some difficulties ?
I have quoted some regions based on information from the wiki and created a special context for some other countries.
France is called the Kingdom of the Franks because almost all countries have different historical names. It is also mentioned that the ruler of France is a king.
Because there was so much merging of borders in this world that Portugal and Spain became the Iberian Union, it can be speculated that this merging happened after Spain lost the war with Usonia which made them seek to merge in order to rebuild their economic and expansionist power or maybe let's just assume that the Iberian Union of 1580 has continued to this day.
I think the Finns will be pagan like the Norse kingdoms.
I don't think there is any reason to change in the lore of Italy.
The Hungarian uprising of 1703 was as successful as the November uprising of Poland against Russia.
Bulgaria joined Yugoslavia for the South Slavic nationalism project.
Türkiye is a republic and the whole Mustafa Kemal Pasha story happened but they got Cyprus back, or maybe they didn't give it up from the beginning. I don't know.
I didn't know what to do with the South Caucasus so I decided to give it to the Crimean Khanate.
Let me know if there are any comments or anything that needs to be modified.
I love this game. I’ve had it for a few years and love it whenever I play it again. I just feel like it ended too early and didn’t get all the cool ideas it could’ve gotten like the British and Japanese factions and more mechs
I'm just curious why isn't there a faction similar to the British empire in the iron harvest universe, given the fact that this is the 1920s. The empire was at its peak in real life
Sorry I know I made this post a couple years ago but....
I love this game and have been thinking of replaying it. Only problem is, I often got frame drops during big mech on mech fights, especially on big maps.
I've even upgraded since then, I now have a 14700kf and a 4090. But I already did a test by loading up an old save and those drops are still there. Usually it runs fine. But like I said big maps + lots of mechs can bring fps down into the 40s at worst. In game settings don't help. I've also tried dxvk and different memory configurations ( high bandwidth, low latency, etc...)
Is there any.... new tips or tricks for getting around this? All I ask for a stable 60. I'm not even afraid to make compromises. I think this is the ONLY game where this hardware combo was unable to to keep a steady 60 no matter what I tried ( and I tried a lot).
Also, anybody know, if maybe the 7800x3d or 9800x3d can overcome this problem? And are able to stay above 60 at all times?
little bit late to the party here lol, but ive beaten this game about 5 times in the last week and am I just not using these guys right or are they really that bad
Mortars, just in general lol, the eisenhans are nice cus they dont have to be manually deployed in the correct direction but mortars just never seem to do any real damage to me. I like the mobile bunker aspect of the zolw but the AI isnt smart enough to actually get the guys inside into range.
Michal Sikorski, now the charge skills dont seem to work right for me, they always get caught on terrain or some shit, but even with that, I hate this guy, hes unarmored and only good against unarmored so he's technically weaker than the standard soldier
Kolokol, I hear it does more structural damage than the ognivo, but i havent noticed and because its faster than everything else in the rusviet army, they just get to the action first and die, I much prefer ognivos with the choke on
Smialy, their speed like kolokol does nothing for my playstyle (turtle and build the largest army I can muster) and a 7 second cooldown on a meh attack + charges never work for me = never using the smialy again once I have access to the lowca
Steifmutter, this thing is actually kind of cool, but why is it so slow and seems to face ass first at the enemy everytime I use it, I actually have the opposite problem with this as I do the smialy/kolokol, usually this thing survives my assault cus it got to the party a solid minute after everyone killed each other
Trying to play with my brother tonight, it was working yesterday but now it’s saying unable to connect. Is this a common issue for multiplayer to be down?
I like both media, don't get me wrong so I was wondering if both mechs were to meet who would end up on top and for this scenario I relying on what units can do during gameplay or at least my gameplay
Let's start with a summery of all playable nations, firstly there's polania, according to the wiki and some backing in gameplay; Polania's millitary doctrine is hit and run and they often build up thier heavier units for a final push
This could be seen with the PZM-7 and the straznik both are pretty fast and slightly weak and often when you use these two mechs you use them to quickly deal heavy damage before running away
The heavy mechs are pretty powerful too a notable example are thr Tur and the łowca the Tur is a heavy mech which is 3 stories tall and the Łowca is a mech destroyer both of which are used for he final push
Let's talk about heros, because one of them is essentially 1920s General brasch. Firstly we got Anna and as we all know she's a sniper and she has a bear that heals infantry, however in this battle most she could do is get Wojtek to distract since she can't really damage mechs
Now let's talk about the most overpowered hero Michal sikorski, this guy is just powerful outright. if you play him properly he's okay but my dear readers let me tell you, this guy can destroy mechs fast without his ability by meleeing the mech no seriously try it especially when he's maxed but his explosives are pretty powerful in general especially with his squad
And finally we have lech kos, he has his own mech which looks like a gorilla and he's quite fast and he's good against most medium armoured mechs
Overall Polania seems pretty good however as a Polanian main I can't say as much as good detail as other factions so reader you could have your own insights to this with your nation
Now let's talk about franxx. Your probably wondering... what's a franxx?
Well my readers a franxx is a mech that is piloted by a male and a female, and to power it they both need to connect, the male controls handling while the female controls the systems of the mech, the franxx are highly mobile and pretty fast, from watching them I believe that a PZM-7 is just slower than then but you can tell me if I'm wrong
Now your probably asking where are the franxx from and its from a show called darling in the franxx
The franxx mechs seem to be armed with melee weapons mostly with a few having autocannons
However if one of the crew dies the franxx is unable to function, the only exception is a franxx known as strelitzia which can be piloted by its female solo although its weakened at this state
So reader the ultimate question is, who would win?
I would like to see Clan Albion from scythe, but the factory has some interesting units.
My hands hurts ;(
