So, after one year in a big city, I have decided that it is not an option for me.
With rural areas, the atmosphere of finding a job feels a lot more relaxed - but still I have to count on miracles to get one.
People think "oh, you have never worked, what have you been doing all that years?". The exactly same thing I'll be doing until death, if people keep thinking this way.
Seriously, how do people begin?
Hi, can anyone advise what kind of jobs are suitable for someone who wants to become a retained firefighter? Our town fire station is small and I really want to join but there are only on-call jobs in this area. I’ve been out of work for a while and I’m looking for a job, but don’t want one that will clash with the fire service on call duties. Any advice appreciated!
Hi
I'm looking for an apprenticeship electrician or plumber in Ireland.
I have worked with my dad as an electrician for 10 years plus but never trained mainly due to lack of work.
Unfortunately I've never trained as a plumber but I am a quick learner.
I mainly have done domestic electrical work and sheds and warehouses, but wouldn't mind doing other electrical work.
Pay is negotiable.
I'm from Kerry but I am willing to relocate.
I have a full car liscience and a learner trailer liscience but unfortunately don't have a car at the moment, but I'm planning on getting one soon.
I have a safe pass, manual handling and first aid done.
I got 425 points in the leaving cert, went to collage but dropped out.
I am hard working, on time and very experienced.
I am willing to work long days, nights and weekends if needed.
One thing I want to know is the job in the city or near a town?
I can provide my own tools.
I'm 26 years of age.
Willing to go on work experience for free.
Thanks
Hey all. I'm gonna come out and say I've not got a degree, just some CompTIA certs which have proved near useless so far, as I just can't seem to get any work in the IT field. I'm trying to apply myself to learn web design and maybe try my hand at actual programming, but it's hard to get the drive to when all it's getting me is on the dole or into another retail job. I just need to find some way to break into the field. I'm Sligo based and I'm at the point where I'm wondering if I've been blacklisted or something from how little I've heard from anywhere, and most new postings are team lead positions or something like that, with a degree and 3 yrs experience required. Is there anywhere that I can get said experience, without a degree, that doesn't require a move to somewhere where 3/4 of my wage isn't gone to rent?

I hope I'm posting in the right place. I'm in desperate need of a career change and the idea of becoming a dog trainer is one I've have dreamt off for quite some time now and I think its the right time.
The only problem is I have no idea where to start. I have been googling courses for hours but I cant seem to find any proper information on the correct track to start on. Most of the courses seem to be distance learning or only 1 evening a week for 12 weeks, which doesnt seem right to me.
So to make a long story not short, Dog Trainers of reddit, can you tell me how you got to where you are?
Greetings! I've seen a lot of mentions about non-EEA members getting software developer and programming jobs under the 213 ICT Professionals critical skills category in Ireland, but I'm curious to learn how many people have landed a job, and what type, that falls under the 2139 sub-category of "All other ICT professionals not elsewhere classified," or even under 2135 "IT business analysts, architects, and systems designers." If any non-EEA members have gotten that coveted Stamp 4 visa for an IT job, specifically in the realm of Information Security Analyst, Network Security Engineer, Network/Application Penetration Tester, etc., I'd love to hear your experience or at least how the interview and job offer process went. Thanks in advance.
I think I might be experiencing burnout from my work. I'm a childminder for a family. When I first started, work conditions, hours, duties and pay was good but over time a lot of it was chiped away and eroded where I am expected to be a replacement housewife or a miracle worker in their home. Sometimes the hours are crazy long and the pay is rubbish. In conjunction with the load of duties that I have. I have a child with auttism in my care too and that can be challenging all on its own. The straw that is breaking the camel's back is the eldest child who is now into teenage years. There's not much minding in her but my god the drama she creates. There's been some drama filled episodes over the past few months from her. Nothing more but sarcaristic criticism from her too. Many times when the autistic child has a meltdown, the teenager looks to me as if I'm abusing the child. Like, 'wtf did you do to make the child meltdown like this'. The mother of the family is also becoming increasingly difficult to work for. Just moods and a tone. The whole entire place and situation is an accident waiting to happen and how I stuck it out for so long I never know.
I want to pack it in.
I know, if I was to walk away, I probably won't get the dole for a period of a few weeks. I think 9 or 10 weeks unless if there was exceptional circumstances. If I was to say to the welfare office I was bullied out from my position, would that work for me for getting the dole without delay. I need a breather space from this job for a few weeks to seek out other work.
Age:17
Location: Co. Kildare
Recently I did a few weeks at a very small new repair store that had no other employees other than the owner after the few weeks he offered I come in after and he would pay me, so in a way offered me a job. He himself doesn't know much about Ireland and its laws and how to run a business with employees because he comes from a different country and is new in Ireland. I work almost everyday and hours vary every day the hours can go between 1hr 30 mins - 8hrs /day. We have agreed on 7 euro /h + some commission. The way I get payed is either by cash or onto my bank account. But we do not have a contract, there is no Pay slips, and I don't think I'm paying PAYE. I don't believe i work there officially though. So my question is Is it Legal and if not what would I have to do to make it Legal and what would he have to do to make it legal? Also if its not legal what are the consequences and who would they affect me and the owner or just me?
I'm entering my final year of a marketing/management degree in September, and I'm seeking ongoing part-time internship work in order to gain valuable experience in this early stage of my career. My issue is that I'm struggling to find any firms in Dublin that offer this, despite being commonplace abroad.
Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated?

I'm newly unemployed and looking for work. I'm looking for a customer/tech support role. I've uploaded CV's to all the recruitment agencies and updated Linkedin etc. Not too sure what more I can/should do. But sitting on my hole waiting for a response is not the way forward. How can I be more proactive? It's been a while since I had to do this, a bit out of the loop. Thanks.
So , I live in Berlin and I signed a contract with company A based in Dublin last month. Today I received an offer from company B which I definitely want to join. Luckily the company A hasn’t started application for my visa ( I am non EU). So my query is, can I just decline the the job offer from company A? If no, what could be the possible options or what are the ways I can do so.
Thanks in advance for your responses
I have recently been selected for an interview with B and Q. Does anyone have any advice because I really need this job

Hi all,
I worked for 3 years as a recruitment consultant. Having completed an MSc Computer Science, I thought I'd write a free app to try and share my knowledge with people looking for a new job. It would be great to hear any feedback on what would be useful?

Hi Reddit,
If you’re in need of content for your website that keeps readers engaged with your brand and leaves them feeling more informed and entertained, I can help!
So many blogs these days are created solely with the need for SEO, and it’s true, you can’t get better SEO without content to optimize. Regularly publishing original content with good keywords, high-value external links, and frequent backlinks can definitely help with your metrics. But what website owners frequently fail to take into consideration is that you want people to still leave with a positive impression of your brand after you get their eyeballs on your content.
The last thing you want is someone directed to your website only to roll their eyes at the lack of quality in what was merely a clickbait article, or one written for a robot.
There is nothing wrong with listicles or clickbait-y content per se, but engaging in this form and then not providing something worth a reader’s time is very wrong! You can get all the SEO boost you need from an article and still have the article not be a flaming pile of web 2.0 garbage.
The same goes for web copy. You want readers to be compelled by your message. You don’t want to sound like a carnival barker or an infomercial shouting at your reader how generically awesome you are.
If you need copywriting, guest blogs, or ghostwriting for any purpose, message me today and I will put my experience to use making great content that reflects positively on your business, lowers your bounce rate, and yes, that even helps your SEO.
