Old Gislers Pies site

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone knows what’s planned for the old Gislers Pies shop on Pine Mountain Rd in North Ipswich. I saw that it was sold a few months ago, the big trees have been cut down and the attached house has been painted. But no activity for a while now. Does anyone have any information?

Electricity Bill

Hey Guys, Check your electricity rates people with Solar., Been with Origin for ages and just changed to Alinta saving me $200 a quarter. Rates were 27.77 compared to 33.29. Service charge $1.07 compared to $1.33 and solar on average was 10c first 10kw then 5c for rest of day. Getting 8c from Alinta. I sold back 2500kw compared to 1700kw usage

Room for rent. Leichhardt. Close to RAAF Base

Edit:- welcome to negotiate higher price and all bills included. I have a room to rent at Leichhardt. 5 mins from RAAF base. It’s not the most beautiful house nor the biggest room but I do make it lovely. It’s so nice living here, theres heaps of trees and shade with sounds of birds to lift your afternoon spirits. I’m thinking $100 p/w as I don’t have wifi or aircon. I have 2 pets Cat & Dog. I’m rather chill and won’t be all up in your space, but my dog might because he’ll probably like you coz he’s very loving. Smoking outside is ok. Short stay ok, longer stay ok. Undercover parking can be arranged. Some spare room for a little storage if need be. A huge powered shed that you would be welcome to use for hobbies or whatever. Bbq you can use, washing machine, dish washer, fire pit in winter ok.

Ideal person

  • is 1 person
  • works, has a job.
  • won’t mind helping out with the yard work once a fortnight or something
  • respecting of my personal space as I respect yours
  • obviously clean and tidy.

Can Auspost print out my passport application?

Was wondering if anyone knows if Auspost can print out the application form (already filled out) if I bring it on a usb? I need to get the passport photos done too so I thought I could lodge it at the same time.

If Auspost doesn’t do printing services then where in Springfield would be ok? I know Officeworks at Oxley would but just trying to save myself a drive if I can do it locally.

Thank you!

Ipswich candidates - locals and new arrivals

I won’t regale everyone with a blow by blow of the candidates’ origins for the three Ipswich state electorates, but it was indicative of the changing times in the city I thought that the majority of candidates (major and minor parties) seemed to be from outside of Ipswich (or having moved into).

Reflective perhaps of the shift of residents from Brisbane etc west into Ipswich?

Why are people so angry frustrated and rude in Ipswich , not to mention the vast majority of people don’t use blinkers and feel so entitled to intimate drivers.Im starting to regret moving here.constructive criticism welcomed, but like many posts they also become abusive .

When it rains it f@$ing pours

Literally never saw David Martin once throughout this campaign yet somehow 10,000 plus people vote for him? Sue and Spike (Russell) were everywhere at markets, shops, pre polling and both were personable and educated about the issues that mattered to locals. Never saw David once.

Ipswich Gym/ Fitness Centre with fun cardio classes (e.g Zumba, body attack), reformer Pilates, and sauna.

I’m currently at Total Fusion Springfield with a reformer membership and I do love it there but I was speaking to a friend in Logan who goes to EMF and she said they have great classes and the wellness area is included in the membership. I already pay $90 a fortnight at Total Fusion and can’t afford to also pay for the sauna which I think is like another $40 a fortnight.

Does anyone know of any gyms in Ipswich with fun cardio classes (dance ones would be great), reformer Pilates, and access to the sauna all included in a reasonable membership? I’m in Ripley area but would travel for this so anywhere is Ipswich is fine. I know it’s asking a lot but gyms in Brisbane seem to do it.

The LNP drops "fully costed" promises today, just without the costings.

If you're not seeing red flags yet, maybe you're colour blind.

Do Any Takeaway Places Offer Discounts on Specific Days of the Week?

I’m trying to save a bit on takeaway and was wondering if any of you know about places that offer discounts or deals on specific days of the week? I know in some places elsewhere they do “Taco Tuesdays” or “Pizza Wednesdays,” but I’m looking for more variety in the local Ipswich area. Any recommendations or tips on where to get the best deals on certain days?

Did Damian Culpeper delete all his social media accounts before becoming an LNP candidate?

I can't find any social media accounts that belonged to him prior to this upcoming election. Did he do a clean up prior to running?

LNP's Carl Mutzelburg on Religious Freedom

A deleted blog by religious leader & LNP candidate for Bundamba Carl Mutzelburg has resurfaced where he states that "Israel (Folau) was within his rights to say what he did. That freedom of speech and religion stand". He justifies Folau's actions as simply quoting the bible which no code of conduct should restrict.

Folau had previously come under criticism for commenting that "homosexuals would go to "HELL" unless they repent their sins".

Carl was one of 16 religious leaders to submit a statement opposing Queensland's voluntary assisted dying laws. He has continued to dodge questions about his stance on women's reproductive rights.
