Apologies…I’m a few episodes in and I absolutely love this show…but I just noticed it had two seasons and was cancelled.
I don’t want to read the sub or google my question because I’m very concerned about spoilers.
My question is , in as vague an answer as you can please, do many people consider this to have one of those endings that ruins the entire viewing experience? I figure I’ll ask now before I’m hopelessly hooked.
Thank you!
So I've read all the books and loved them and even liked the movie ok. So I thought oh cool there is a TV show too! So you mean to tell me I put up with two seasons of emotional whining characters only to have the show canceled when she finally actually starts, you know, teleporting? The only good episode was the one ironically without the main character in it, S02E04, give me more of that! Sheesh!
I just finished watching season 2 snd i absolutely loved the show and now hearing that there wont be a season 3 im devastated, so does anyone know if it is coming back or if they have said how the third season would have been like or just anything
Caption speaks for itself. I don't mind shows that make you think or question, and I don't exactly wanna say the rape angle was cringey, but like, it was totally in your face cringey. Poorly done. Yet it got 100 percent? How? Am I just too big a jumper fan and this strays from that? Or did I really just miss the "amazing and well thought out story?" I even just happened upon a thread were this show was apparently being loved by folks and stated as the best show on a streaming service. It's not even the best on the train wreck that is youtube premium. So please, someone fill me in. Because jumper is a gem, and this, well, it's something.
I know this sub, and tragically the show, is largely dead, but I think I get why Nikolai keeps a goldfish.
If they were to copy his room, they could not copy the goldfish. No matter how detailed they get, this is a unique feature of this location.
They could bring the fish to the copy room, and that would probably work for a time.. but he simply need only kill the fish or wait for it to die and now the copied room is wrong and he'd be able to escape.
Thoughts?
Teleporting is kind of their thing, but freezing time? Are there different kind of powers? Does the book or any other media explain what's going on? Season 2 could have honestly been a good closing point if not for that plot twist.
I just watched impulse and was baffled by all the negative reception towards Henri.
She’s not a villain, literally everyone got what they deserved, except for the cop, but then again she chose to jump- henri told her she was coming back so it’s not like her death was intentional.
Everyone in the show is being too hard on Henri. Jenna is annoying as fuck for blaming everything on Henri and should not be upset about being outed considering she was literally about to out Henri’s powers right before Henri said she was gay!
Clay: was crippled, but he assaulted / raped (finger penetration) Henri so I couldn’t give any fucks about him losing his legs. Oh and he was a total cunt about it afterwards, it’s not even like he was remorseful. - physical injury justified.
Bill: brought his gun to Henri’s house and held her and her mom hostage at gunpoint, and literally shot them! I’m glad she got his arm and he wasn’t able to get away. Oh, and how about we talk about him having his son commit murder / involving his son in the business? Or how he basically forced Henri to ride with him to the Amish people at the beginning of the series? Or how he told Clay that everyone makes mistakes when discussing the rape, along with saying he needs to never tell anyone about it? - death justified
Nikolai: Killed Henri’s dad as well as others like the computer guy. He cared for Henri but was a shitty person, no wonder Henri let him die. - death justified
The cop: First off, how about we mention that the cop should not have even been there in the first place, she was trespassing on private property and told repeatedly, by EVERYONE, that she needs to stop with the illegal / vigilante shit. This aside, Henri told her she’d be back, and did go back the next day, yet the cop chose to jump off before then. - death not justified but not really Henri’s fault.
——
The ending with her mom: Makes total sense why she was mean to her mom. Breaking the tether means that she will not teleport home at the first sign of danger, freeing both her and her mom.
——
All and all, Henri was not a villain and was very likeable in season 2. All the other characters besides Thomas were unlikeable. To be honest I was hoping they were building her up to have a psychotic break and it would be revealed that all the trauma / stress triggered an underlying mental condition like Bipolar Disorder (which coincidentally is sometimes treated with epilepsy meds like Lamictal and Depakote )
I just re-watched both season one and two, and there is just so much stuff that needs to be revealed.
did she also get revenge against luke boone or is she still focusing her vengeance on the crippled clay boone for the rest of the season?
will season 2 still focus on the sexual assault (so many movies already tackle this issue), or did the show finally focus on the lore about Jumper? (i watched the series coz someone recommended it as the spiritual sequel to the Jumper movie/novel)
i just wanna know if the show actually explored more about the Jumper lore before the show got cancelled. (how much content was dedicated to the lore?)
is there enough lore content to make the rest of the show worth watching?
i'm also looking for more recommendations for shows/books/whatever.. similar to Jumper, Push, World of Darkness (ie : vampire the masquerade, mage the ascension, changelings, etc..)
i'm interested in the scope/limitations and unique applications of their powers, as well as the counter technologies and techniques against it.
There are some websites saying that Impulse will return either this year or in 2023. Is this true?
I've been trying to work out what the next season would of looked like.Any guesses to how the plot would of played out leading on from the cliff hanger ending?
Or anywhere I could read fan write up of it?
I rewatched the Jumper movie and while story wise it was lacking, the world building and the action were some of the coolest. Wanting more of that kind of world I found Impulse. While I respect and enjoy the different journe Impulse has taken me on, I've made it into season 2 and I can't help but feel a little annoyed.
While I understand the paladins from the movie weren't in the books, the action they brought to the movie and their weapons were really fun to watch. I wasn't too sad that they used sound instead of electricity and grounding rods to stop a Jumper. But I was disappointed that when a Jumper was finally attack with a taser in season 2. Instead of like in the movie where it stops them from being able to jump, it actually induced several jumps from the character.
It just feels disrespectful, like they intentionally shit on anything that I liked that related to the movie at all.
I watched season 1. It was.... okay. But Season 2 so far is annoying AF. I dislike the Henry character, and her lumberjack eyebrows are just so off-putting. I'm on s2e2 and other than Nikolai and Hulce, none of the characters are interesting in the slightest. I don't care about the teen angst or the aftereffects of the s1 attempted rape that is still perplexingly in the s2 plotline. I want to know more about the shadowy organization, but there is precious little so far.
So... especially knowing that this show was (deservedly) cancelled... is there somewhere I can just read the plot summaries so as to learn about the secret organization that studies or kidnaps or whatever the teleporters?
Still mad they canceled s3 this show would’ve been big if it was on Netflix or hbo max or something like that
I think that we can all argue that YouTube Premium doesn't have much good original content, and Impulse was by far the best streaming series by a streaming service that I've ever seen. Hell, I think the only reason YouTube Premium is worth it is because the Ads on YouTube have been infinitely getting worse. If the Ads weren't such a huge issue, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
What I'm trying to say here is, if I didn't already own YouTube Premium, I would buy it for Impulse, I would spend $12 a month, at the minimum, just for one fucking show that releases all their episodes in a season on the same day, that I'd then complete in about two days. It was that good. It sucks that the show couldn't find a new home to continue the story.
Lol RIP us fans left on a cliffhanger
please anyone help to get a third season of impulse.
Are they going to release a blue ray vision of season 2
Good God is the soundtrack for this show amazing.
I just finished season 2 today and I'm really sad that there isnt a season 3. theres so many depressing things that happened to everyone except Zoe x Townes. (i love them lmao) i wouldve loved to see those two fight against Henry. I want to know what happens to Henry's mom and Lucas and Jenna... ugh there's just so many questions that I want explanations. I wish they could just type out what season 3 would be instead of filming it LOL
I loved everything about this show and after finishing it and finding out it was cancelled got me feeling extremely sad.
