/r/IdeasForTech
/r/IdeasForTech is similar to subreddits such as /r/IdeasForAskReddit or /r/IdeasForTheAdmins. It is a place where users and mods can bounce ideas around and hopefully keep up with evolving trends to create the best possible experience.
Users can pose ideas to the mods of /r/tech, and the mods can present ideas to the general public. The aim is to be able to thoroughly discuss ideas and policy as it pertains to /r/tech.
Nothing here is binding, but having a forum for full discussion and different perspectives can help ensure that any action taken is well thought out. It can also help us tie up some existing loose ends that may be overlooked. The more practical and supported a topic is, the better likelihood of it becoming official.

I’m exploring the concept of a screenless wearable device that measures anxiety levels using physiological indicators like heart rate variability (HRV), heart rate, and skin conductance (GSR). It’s designed to provide real-time insights into stress levels and manage their anxiety with mindful breathing exercises and tactile vibrations.
The goal is to combine advanced sensors (like green-light PPG and GSR) with a minimalist design that focuses on functionality over visuals. The device would pair with a smartphone app for in-depth analysis and personalized suggestions, but the wearable itself aims to be lightweight and intuitive.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on:
Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions!

Hi, Im in a small business that serves business clienteles. We're trying to think of an idea to allow businesses to send their orders through to our SAP. The team are currently loading orders manually, the orders are currently taken over the phone or via email but it takes up a lot of time. We dont have the budget to build an ordering desktop site to send the orders through to SAP.. do you have any ideas? We want to be as cost effective as possible
I like puzzles. I like to take information from different places and blend it to make a working idea and run with it. You look at the breaches- did you find the trend yet? Did you look at other nations? Did you find the trend yet there? I find it interesting that when a breach happens then a living off the land attacks occur. Did we look to how many of these are working from home? If PII is the goal, entry to this, then safe guarding is the ultimate priority. But why aren’t we? What can you do with PII? Well, I can use a cell number to get an exact location. Address? Surveillance? What about Blue tooth attacks? IoT devices? What is a good entry point? Have zoom on your phones? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING RID OF IT.
I discovered that you can have the a great security but add something to make the security weak.
Human factor- that is the weakness that makes security weak.
Look at banks. When have you ever seen a bank be ransomed? Their servers breached? NOPE 👎
You do see humans being hacked threw their apps because of phishing, fake texts, etc. How? They got PII
TCP Security- it’s a 3 way security protocol. A hand shake. I like hugs 🤗 so let’s go with that. If you are in cybersecurity or hacker then you know how easy it is to break two factor authentication.
I believe we are moving away into a new security strategy where two factor needs to be replaced with TCP Security Hug. What they means is to secure PII we need a container type of element with biometric authentication and also something you have, with something you know.
If any of these elements fail then you can’t get to the data.
If you take “hubs” and place them strategically in the United States with a hybrid approach; add a container type of approach then add TCP Security Hug I am willing to guarantee a drop in breaches.
But, I am not sure how many people would benefit because so much has been stolen already. It’s like you would be securing data that had already exposed. Yet, it would work for all the new information. It would work for medical records. People who work in national security positions, law enforcement, first responders, others in critical positions.
Yes, it will cost money. This is vulgar but it’s America. Americans spend tons on sexual toys, sex but won’t spend money to secure their data. Wake up. These same CEO’s and security experts are cheap!!!! Where are your priorities?
This is 💯 my idea. I did not peddle it, steal it, I developed it because of a trend I saw in data hacks. From United States, United Kingdom and other places. It’s the starting point for each breach into every government, hospital, critical infrastructure. If you cut off this information or cut down access to it then you cut access to your systems.
This will be featured in my upcoming paper Research Paper on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare :The Ethic and Security Implications of Data of IoT with Artificial Intelligence.

I posted the first ever app idea of a food delivery service powered by navigation and services structures. If anyone can find the reddit archive of UberEats first post on the internet EVER! Basically the name uberEats was titled by me. ._. I got several email accounts hacked too. If you have the power to find it any trace on the internet. Let me know.
medical face shield with fresnel lens for magnifying Could be set to common magnifications just like cheap reading glasses. Could have left right fields with different levels of magnification. Could potentially have google glass style text projecting onto inside to reduce need to touch phone or gear. Respond using speech to text.

Political submissions should be submitted to /r/politics or /r/politicaltech.
This rule is bad because /r/politicaltech is a dead sub, and /r/politics is about Trump and not tech.
Users on /r/tech benefit from posts about politics because it gives them news about things they can actually have a material affect on. Posts about Google or Amazon misbehaving aren't actionable, because we don't elect their board members.
Posts about politicians with bad policy, such as not supporting net neutrality, are actionable because we can campaign against their election.

Being in Product engineering services for a decade had made me more matured to this industry and had to analyse things to be updated to the current developments in the technology space, which any techie would love to understand and develop on product development services here is the link to my blog I recently posted in Linkedin about the 5 Essentials Practise to build a great product development check it out and to provide the feedback for the same.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a $25 smart watch on amazon. Doesn't need to be anything like an apple watch just something with notifications. Also a decent charger. I have a Samsung S8+. Thank you for any suggestions.
Make several steps into seamless motion
Like navigating from here to there, save pages that will be reused somehow maybe the user tracks what they need or it can be smart for example right now
Sign in review, check email, password confirm blah blah blah should be streamlined into one seamless motion that takes its time and is precalculated. Simply reducing navigation time I think it is possible if the user knows, ai is possible but I know not enough I can send this to someone who can say something so what do you think about this idea since im giving it away for free?
Ok so hear me out. As I sit here in my pyjamas with a glass of Chimay. I have an epiphany.
Context: I am a night time person, I am not alone here. I'm sure of this fact. However there exists the daytime person. What if you could take your genious highdeas and send them to your early riser friends without disturbing their slumber by assuring it arrives at a specified time.
I am suggesting an idea for a business which provides a service. As any good business should. Allow text messages to be sent at any time you choose. What the timestamp reads should represent the use of the app. I for one want my friends to hear my stupid drunken ideas but I am not getting up at a reasonable hour.
Also if this is already a thing hook a brotha up.

my idea is to create a kid friendly version of either reddit or 4chan i could use this link for reddit https://github.com/infinity-next/infinity-next it would be more like ∞chan than reddit but ehhh.. close enough and for a kid friendly version of 4chan i would use this http://www.1chan.net/futallaby/ what do you think?
I'm struggling with ideas of a new website or a app to create. Do someone in here have a good idea? It could exist now or not created yet.
Thanks in advance peace.
Apologies to future users reading this we may have been looking for something different. As of 2023-6-29, this comment has been edited prior to the deletion of my account due to the absurd behavior of a certain admin/owner attempting to draw value out of reddit before IPO.
Only months ago, we were promised that the APIs were safe. Today, we are promised that old.reddit is safe. Reddit (well, you know who) has misrepresented communications held in private, lied in public, and told media sources that the users that create the content the site survives on are "just noise".
As a result, I am removing all of my content from the site before API changes forever remove my ability to do so. While my small act of defiance means nothing to reddit, with luck together we might push (or blackmail, if you prefer the phrase- these types only understand leverage) reddit to appreciate its users and stop undermining its own platform. Or maybe we all move to the fediverse.
Best of luck.
I'm going to go touch grass.
Many researchers present their results in the form of a video. It would be great if we could submit links directly to their youtube videos than being forced to find a website that summarizes it
Here is such a video that is quality content but I can't post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M1zNIVGrjM
I think removed posts should be redirected to something like http://www.reddit.com/r/FuturologyRemovals so that people can learn what is and isn’t appropriate.
Thanks.
Would help for searching / filtering and perhaps make titles clearer.
