How bad can it be? Would be my first accent but have experience touring/would go with VT natives who have skied it before.

Any small parks on some random incline around that you can hike up? Just want to session smallish features for a while

Going to Stratton this weekend, and im super stoked for it. Saw that upper spruce was open and according to slopes (which is often very inaccurate) it was just as steep on its max pitch as Frank’s fall line and upper standard. How much harder is it? I’ve done trails like superstar before, so it shouldn’t be too much of a challenge so long as it’s groomed. Not sure how it compares to that though. I won’t push it too hard on my first day back, but would love to try an actual double diamond for the first time. Thanks in advance!

My wife and I are looking at a weekend trip to Winterplace, but because of the kids, we won’t both be able to ski at the same time.

Can we just put a pass on a lanyard and swap out for the day?

Was it just me or did that seem worse than normal? I saw more out of control skiers running into people than I ever have in my life. That was terrifying at times...

Or was it just me and I am being over sensitive?

I got an rmail a while back saying there was a n issue with duplicate RFID numbers. Anyone else affected or missing their passes still?

Didn’t take enough pictures, but overall it was a a chaotic but fantastic opening day.

Started off with 2 laps on Frank’s, which was firm, fast, and fun.

Made our way over to snow bowl to see a Jerry stampede making its way down lift line as they had just dropped the rope. A few natural trails opened (standard, lift line, upper slalom glade plus a few more, not sure which) and they were all fantastic.

Lines were long but nothing too out of the ordinary. Groomers deteriorated quite quickly (upper spruce was pretty bleh when I skied it) and the natural trails were the place to be, despite the hordes face planting left and right.

The forecast looks great the next couple weeks and I'm looking to take 3 or 4 days on the slopes.

I'm a strong intermediate skier, mostly on piste unless the glades are easy. I love long runs, not really a speed guy.

I haven't been skiing around here in at least a decade or more.

My gf will be coming but she doesn't ski - there needs to be a priority for alternate activities: tubing, ice skating, an easily accessible and fun ski town, fun ski lodge, etc.

Hey everyone, My family and I are looking to Ski in Vermont, preferably south part of Vermont. I was looking into Magic Mountain. Do you necessarily need lift tickets as a beginner or can we just walk up the easy trails and ski down? We're not looking to get lessons and just wanna learn ourselves. If not magic mountain, any recommendations on somewhere that is cheap and beginner friendly with rentals?

Hey everyone,

I'm planning a weeklong ski trip this season and could use some advice as I am unfamiliar with east coast resorts. I'm looking at resorts within the Epic Pass group (Stowe, Okemo, Mount Sunapee, Mount Snow, Attitash, Wildcat, Crotched, Hunter) that check a couple of boxes:

1. For the non-skier in the group: I'm traveling with someone who doesn't ski, so I'm hoping to find a resort with plenty of activities off the slopes either in the resort or in a nearby town.
2. For the less experienced skiers: Those of us who will be skiing are not super confident skiers, so a mountain with a good selection of beginner and easy intermediate runs would be great!

I am helping my wife plan a bachelorette weekend. She is getting pretty overwhelmed with the number of ski resorts within driving distance of DC and how to choose between them!

One of the main priorities is access to non-skiing activities since only about half the group will want to actually ski (probably only one day of skiing so the actual slopes aren’t a huge priority). They want ski-town vibes, apres ski, and other winter activities close by (snow tubing, ice skating, etc).

So far we are comparing the following resorts, so please share any thoughts or opinions on these! Or if we are missing another great option feel free to add to the list and sell us on it!
