What's your(or your friends') experience like at the on campus Riverwalk apartments? I'm heading to IUI for grad school in Jan and I'm on a budget, but all the options around campus seem pretty pricey. If anyone's already staying there I would love to chat and ask a few questions.
Let's introduce ourselves and talk about our research! I'll start:
I am a 29 year old lesbian from Kentucky. I'm in my 3rd year and I just passed my qualifying exams. My research is on chromodynamics (strong forces) inside of protons. I am an industry consultant for projects related to this but, ultimately, I'd like to stay in academia as a teaching professor. I did my undergrad at the University of Edinburgh and my masters at New York university. I am involved in student working groups in several conferences in my field and I peer review for their poster sessions.
Questions to get everyone started:
I run hot so I'm sweating as soon as I walk into the building. It's easy for the people who run cold to layer up, but I can't layer down more than I am unless I want to get arrested.
i want to brush up my guitar skills, I'm a beginner, does anyone know of guitar clubs in iupui where I can learn and play guitar and other instruments? would really love to de-stress with all this academic work going on.
DM me for more information like pictures or to schedule a tour.
I'm getting really sick of air conditioning. Where's the best place to 10mins or so to get warm? Preferably one that remains warm regardless or weather.
what are the best gas stations near/on campus? just want somewhere not shady since I've noticed indy doesn't have the safest gas stations
Hello, does anyone know if you're required to have a work study for jobs on Handshake that say they're working study eligible? Or is it just that if you do have a work study you can use it for the job?
Hello! Are there printers located anywhere besides computer labs? Looking for one in the Health Sciences building.
Thanks!
Was wondering if anyone could fill me in on how the exam is? My professor is Hong Liu. There is supposed to be a portion of coding and didn’t know what to expect. Freaking out a bit because this class is supposed to be a nightmare. I normally use my book, check my code, and look at examples while I’m coding. Does she grade on a curve? Sorry for all the questions 🤣
Just recently took a job on campus, but personally live on the south side — about 15 minutes from campus, past FS. Anyone seeking a short term room or a part time job checking on my house and animals a couple of days a week?
This would be a good opportunity for someone looking for a quiet place to study, an out of town commuter who needs somewhere be between classes/events… roommate wise this would a single female, no pets, opportunity. I have an older lab mix and two cats who are used to me working remote and extremely affectionate.
Must be reliable, dependable, and able to pass a background check. The house is not spotless, does not have to be. Street parking, open yard, close to parks in an up and coming neighborhood.
I am in the campus center 6 days a week most of the time and would want to have a few conversations first. I work full-time and would need a weekend to get the room move-in ready. My house does have cameras.
Shoot me a message and let’s see what happens.
8am and it says the sports garage is already full with every other garage is at most 30%

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some clarification on where I'm allowed to park with my ST Permit in Blackford garage. Everything online says I should be able to park there, but when I tried parking there today I saw signs saying not to park in BG spots if I have an ST pass. That's fine, but it seemed like to me the BG spots were everywhere? Maybe I didn't look around hard enough or misinterpreted the signs or something, but does anyone know where I'd be able to park there?
they covered the whiteboard on the first floor of the campus center with yet another sign that proclaims iu indy. anyone know why they got rid of it? has it changed locations?
This feels like a dumb question. But I can’t get twitch to load on any of the IUI hotspots. Does the campus have it blocked? Am I stuck only watching it on the mobile app while on campus?
It’s been a week and they are not that great , I want my old iupui back :/
"Hi everyone, I’m enrolled in two online courses, but I don’t see any time schedules. Should I email the professors to ask about the times, or are they self-paced courses?"
Hi guys, I am planning to take math 118 this fall semester and I’m not sure whether I should chose Clay Hicks, Joan Rainey, Ryann workman, Christopher Dona as my professor. If any body recently took this course with either of these teachers can you guys let me know which professor will get me to pass the class?
And I’d really appreciate it if you guys can explain why….
How hard and how many hours do you study a day or a week? Do they allow drop some assignments and exams? And most importantly, are the exams similar with the exam reviews or atleast class lectures? And also last thing, are the exams all multiple choice or no. Thank you
Hi everyone! This is my second year at IUPUI, and my main scholarship has been through the Cox Scholars program. Problem is, my financial aid from this scholarship hasn't appeared on my financial aid dashboard at all, and I haven't been able to get in touch with anybody regarding why it isn't there. It isn't even listed on my accept/decline awards page! I've tried reaching out to the financial aid office, but they had no answers for me yet. Has anybody else in the Cox Scholars program having this same issue? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!
Okay! I am currently a psychology major and I am not sure what I should minor in. My two options are medical sociology or a public health minor track, like community health or health administrations? My concern with having a minor in medical sociology, is that it is not the most known field. I feel like health administration is more known and because of that may open more opportunities for me. I am just stressed about picking one. I like both fields, it just I want to pick the one where grad school and organizations accepts. Please give your all advice! Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!
soooo… I didnt have a bunch of money to drop on a parking pass. Does anyone have any suggestions until i can afford one? It should only be a week or two 🤞
Hi guys, I’m a senior and not this semester but next I have to do a required internship to graduate. Here’s the thing… I currently work full time in the field and at the level my degree granting school wants me to be in… I can’t give up my job for an internship that’s going to pay lower than what I make currently… does anyone have any advice on what I should do??
Hi guys, Im moving into dorm in 1 day and I do not have a crimsomcard. Does anyone know that I could check in and move in dorm without it? Thanks so much
Hello, quick question, is there a clinic on campus to refill meds or do I have to find a local pharmacy?
