IUPUI is a public research university in Indianapolis, Indiana. A core campus of Indiana University that also offers Purdue University degrees, it is the result of a merger in 1969 of the Purdue Indianapolis Extension Center (1946) and Indiana University Indianapolis (1916). Located along the White River and Fall Creek, it sits upon a peninsula adjacent to Downtown Indianapolis.

I was wondering if it was possible to maybe take advantage of the schools resources but I don’t go there. Like the gym, maybe events, and I was seeing how to maybe get a card without attending. Anyone have a clue
I got accepted to IU Indy today, but I am still undecided if I should make the jump. I currently go to a tiny IU campus, which is ~fine~. There are very nice staff and I have been able to have research opportunities, but the student body kills me. If you have ever been to small towns/cities in Indiana, you will understand what I mean. This makes making friends quite the predicament. I also would like to not live with my parents anymore. My worries about transferring to IUI though are that I am an anxious person, I have sensory issues, and I am a germophobe; so I worry about living with another person. At the same time, I want to experience not living at home and I want to be able to meet people who I might get along with better. So I have a bunch of questions: is it likely to get a single as an incoming Sophomore? Is it easy to get a single if you have accommodations? If you struggle with the same issues as me and have/had a roommate, how did you cope? I am open to having a roommate, I just want to feel better prepared for what that is like. What is the social life like at IUI? I have heard it isn't the BEST, but I also am quite introverted. I just want to meet people who are like-minded individuals and get a good education. What sort of social things do people do at IUI? What is it like being vegan at IUI? My current IU campus has no vegan food and I starve all day, so that honestly is a big factor for me. For pre-med students, what have your experiences been (classes, research, extracurriculars, etc)? Sorry for so many questions, but I have a lot of concerns (like I said, I am an anxious person). Thanks for any input lol
Okay, so I live in tower, and my crimsoncard genuinely has not worked on the elevators, the stairs, or the building in general in WEEKS. I can get into my room just fine and meal swipes aren’t a problem, but nothing else is working. I’ve been to the front desk like 6 or 7 times over the past few weeks and had my card reset several times. They gave me a temp card for a few days, but that’s expired already. I’ve even been to the office in the campus center a few times as well, and they say that my card works perfectly fine. Honestly, I’m just really tired of having to ask people to help me up the elevator. Is there anything else I can do? I feel like I’m out of options here.
Current RA’s, how should I prepare myself for my individual interview? I’m a little nervous but excited and just want to be prepared going into it. I am interviewing for both RA and FA. Thanks!
i'm trying to apply to housing as an incoming freshman in fall 2025..everywhere i look on the website/on google says the application is open online, but i can't find it on the website or through my student portal. does anyone know where i can find it at?? pls help💔
Hi yall, I am a first-year student at my IUI. I am majoring currently in both Social Work and Criminal Justice, with plans to pursue a master's in social work and eventually work in prison social work. My dilemma is that if I do not double major and just major in social work, I can get my undergrad in three years (I came in college with a chunk of dual credits) and then get my masters quicker (I can get my MSW in one year)
BUTTTT Criminal justice is more of a passion major that I wanted since I was very little. I didn't really know though if I need that major for any career I want to pursue since I really mess with social work.
Soo is it better to double major in social work and Criminal justice or just leave after three years to go get my masters?
I need a long table. I need time. I need to be alone. I need help.

I'm an international applicant and i applied to IUI as an undergrad end of october and I haven't recieved a decision yet. Should I email admissions or wait until end of january because on the website it did say that it may take longer for intl students to get a decision but they didn't provide a timeline.
I got waitlisted from bloom but haven’t heard from Indianapolis? I did apply IU does this mean I’m rejected from both campuses ?
So I'm in Riverwalk and my smoke alarms go off EVERY time I use my toaster, but weirdly enough not when I cook big extravagant meals. Should/could I just take the batteries out of the alarm in the kitchen? I'm a huge home-cooker and everytime I make toast my neighbors are very much aware 🥲 and yes I've also cleaned the toaster itself.
Hi! I am currently a student at Ivy Tech and plan on transferring to IU Indy in the fall to continue my education. I submitted my application in September and have not heard anything back and I am becoming a little worried. I applied last year and was accepted however, I continued at Ivy Tech so my credits would transfer in a block and not singularly. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Thanks!!
Can someone help me find an easy life and physical science 3cr 100% online class?
I’m considering Oceanography and How the world works. I have no basis on that just looked easier than biology and forensic science
Thank youuuu
Hey all. I was wondering if anyone happened to know the weight limit of the beds? Maybe it’s just my nerves acting up, but I’m a bit of a heavier set guy and am a little bit worried about my bed. Anything to calm my nerves would be much appreciated.
Hello!!
I’m looking into things like meal plans for next year, but the website is a little confusing. I believe Tower Dining is the only dining hall, but I keep seeing Tower Den mentioned, what is that? What is a swipe swap and where are the places you can use that? Where can dining dollars be used?
Thank you!!
Hello! I was wondering if there was any parking that is close to hine hall? or anything to make a trip easier

Would this be considered a class action lawsuit? I received two loans in to my account. Yesterday, I received an email from IU that the second loan was an error and they will be withdrawing that second loan. This is pretty serious! I called the bursar office and they said a third party vendor messed up and they had no control over the error. I asked for the third party vendor’s name and they didn’t know the name.
Then I was referred to financial aid. The financial aid was no help and they supposedly didn’t know the name of the third party vendor. Anyone attorneys to reach out to, that handles these type of situations?
Hey All, I'm an international student looking to apply for MS in CS at IU, Indianapolis for Fall 2025. I wanted to know how the university and CS department has been since the split last year. IUPUI had great reputation and rankings in several website. I can't find information about IUI ranking and reputation. Any input will be of great help.
Hi I'm a full scholarship student at IUPUI and they sent me my scholarship money twice. I reached out and was told this was something everyone who got reimbursements apparently recieved. Did anyone else get a double payment? I was told to hold on to the money and they would bill me for the second amount. Just want to make sure anyone on financial aid gets the heads up and doesn't accidently spend the money!
Basically the title, is there a Discord or Groupchat of some sort that I can maybe join? I do some sports and play video games and would be down to check out U INDY stuff after work days.

IUPUI walkers, I beg you—crossing Michigan Street like it’s an episode of Frogger is not the move. Drivers are dodging you like it’s Mario Kart, and the rest of us are clutching our coffee in fear. Use the crosswalks, or at least pretend jaywalking is an Olympic sport you’re training for. Help us all survive another semester
So I just got accepted into IUI which is my dream school! I couldn’t be happier.
I made my deposit to hold my spot and officially accept…but is there anything else I have to do? I created a OneIU account already and I’m not too sure if I need to do anything else.
Hi! I am a Junior about to start my capstone research. I was wondering if anyone knows how strict they are about getting exactly 10 hours a week. It looks like with my schedule I will only be able to do 8. Is that going to cause a problem? Also, do I need to reach out to my research head now to schedule my hours? I tried to message my advisor but she is not taking emails over holiday break.
Hey,
I am planning on taking Chem 126, but I haven’t taken Chem 125 at iu and plan on taking it in the summer. I was able to take Chem 105 and Chem 125 at Ivy Tech Community College in hs but the school said that the med school wouldn’t accept it. So do you guys think I would be okay taking Chem 126 lab first before Chem 125?
I was also wanting to know if anyone could possibly send the syllabus for Chem 126. Only if that’s allowed.
Ok so I remember getting a email maybe a week or 2 ago saying “Yea so this is what will happen if you get accepted yada yada yada” and so they were like “application review will finish on 12-27” but I also know final grades are posted on that date. So is it possible that we can get results on the 27th or is it more probable for the 28th. I understand that we will get it within the end of December but I just need to know now or as soon as I can 😭
