I recently asked someone about iit chicago and this is what they said, "I would suggest go for other universities. I went to IIT Chicago, business school is in downtown. Don’t even imagine you going to main campus. We don’t have anything there. And business school is in a building downtown. That’s it nothing interesting in that building. IIT Chicago impossible to get a GRA (graduate research assistant)OR TA (teaching assistant ). And I would suggest go for some public university than private. You will have lot of fun and events in public. I still regret joining private. Wasted my money". Is this correct and if yes what are the other insights about iit chicago one should know before applying.
I'm trying to decide between DePaul University and Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) for my Master’s in Computer Science, and I'd love some insight from anyone who has experience at either school!
I’m a senior in high school thinking of applying to IIT on direct admissions. I’m thinking of doing the Chemistry (B.S) program there and was wondering what a possible class schedule could look like. Do you guys have to go to class everyday, or only on certain days of the week?
Hey there, as someone who has zero knowledge of universities of USA (coz im not American). I wanna ask you that is IIT worth it for undergraduate. I wanna major in finance. And which is better illinois institute of technology or Northeastern?
Hey guys, I recently submitted my application for Fall 25. But I have no idea where to apply my application fee waiver code? Where do I insert it? Because after submitting the application, it directs me to pay the application fee of $100. I did mail the university but no response until now. Please if anyone has any idea how this works, it would be really helpful.
Just wondering if anyone here has received an admission decision for Spring 2025 for the MS in Computer Science? I’ve been waiting on mine and followed up with the Office of Graduate Admission a couple of times via email, but I haven’t heard back in days. I’m not sure if this is normal or if I should keep reaching out.
18M Electrical Engineering student at a private northeast engineering college. I realized I hated my college and want to transfer home after this semester. Due to some mental health issues, I have two W grades (digital logic design and Calc 1), although I have a 4 on the BC exam, as well as a 1500+ SAT and 35 ACT. My cumulative highschool GPA was around 3.9 or something. Not sure what my first semester GPA will end up being (maybe around 3.3, 3.5 ish?). How much of an issue do you guys think I'll have with getting in for transfer engineering?
Hello everyone,
I'm an international student from India planning to apply Early Action to Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) for the Biomedical Engineering program. While I believe my profile is strong, I'm concerned about how my financial need might affect my chances of acceptance.
Academic Credentials:
Extracurriculars/Activities:
Financial Situation:
My family's maximum annual contribution is around 1,700,000 INR, which is approximately $20,000. I understand that financial need can impact admissions decisions for international students, especially those applying for need-based financial aid.
Concerns:
I've researched Illinois Tech's financial aid offerings and admissions statistics, and I've noticed that they are generous with scholarships. However, I'm still anxious about my admissions prospects due to my financial needs.
Any guidance, insights, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help.
A little bit more context. I graduated with a bachelors degree in communications back in 2007, and now looking to make a career change. I am interested in the data science masters program. It says you can finish in 12-15 months. Anyone finish the course? Also what is your thoughts on someone who has never done any data science prior. Could someone be successful in this with no prior knowledge? Thanks in advance!
Thinking about my spring semester courses. When choosing Career Electives, you can pretty much take anything. Are there any that pretty easy to get the credits out of the way?
Is the 10 dollars for both the box and admission, or only the box, then you have to pay the usual 17 dollars to enter and fill up the container? Can you use the box in the center court?
Has anyone gotten word back yet about the masters of computer science admissions? Mine says the decision has been pending for like a month????
I'm an incoming student for masters for spring '25. What is the rough deadline for channels to apply for Ra/ta/ga roles. Any directions or resources will be me much appreciated. Cheers
Hey, is there any general whatsapp group for all spring 2025 intake students where we can connect and search for potential flatmates ? Moreover, any MSc Finance groups ?

Hello! I'd like to study to be a veterinarian and I was wondering if IIT would be good for undergrad
Thanks!!!
I've recently come across some certification courses from the IIT's regarding ML and DS. Are these courses valuable considering the steep price point? I've completed my bachelor's and am currently working
I have a situation where I had to take course out of my circumlum which is going to help in my career. I discussed with my academic advisor and my advisor suggested to choose the course and the course had no prerequisites and now I get a email from the professor of that course that I can't enroll and I have to take a prerequisites subject before registrating to this and the main problem is that the deadline is already done way back. I emailed to both academics advisor and professor and there is no reply.
Who is the person that I should contact to resolve the problem is there any kind of solution for this problem
I am international student on F-1 visa it's mandatory that I have to be enrolled for 9 credit but if I drop this course I will left out with 6 credits and this is my 3rd semester which will impact my visa status
My two friends and I will be attending the SWE24 conference, and we're looking for affordable and safe accommodation near the IIT campus. We plan to stay for two nights. Could you suggest any budget-friendly places to stay or recommend areas that are good for short-term stays? I'm unfamiliar with Chicago, so any advice would be helpful.
Hey everyone I’m a first year commuter that loved hanging outside so far between classes but now that the clouds started hurling stones at us I was wondering what spots around campus are available for us commuters. I know of the campus center and the bog is that all? THANKS:)
Hi everyone,
I wanted to know if IIT is accepting duolingo english test (DET) for international applicants. I couldn't find it in the admission requirements page.
It’s fully unclear on the website. Only listed as per credit. I need the big number!!

Hello, I am from Afghanistan and I got admission for the master of cybersecurity letter today. Now, I am wondering how should I fund my studies. I have received a funding opportunity (Graduate Pathway Scholarship) but the amount is less and still need a very big amount of savings for I-20 to be issued. Can you please provide your insights on this?

Applying to IIT for fall '25 term and trying to find any info about the Chicago area right around IIT campus. On West coast so cant see it in person. Is IIT campus in a Chicago area that is walkable to restaurants, bars, stores, in a cool neighborhood etc? Or do students have to take the train/subway to get to anything like that in the city? Scouring online but can only find videos with on-campus tours and no info on the city around the campus? Comparing IIT to Stevens in Hoboken where you can walk around Hoboken from campus. Any info appreciated, thanks!
Hello everyone, I'm considering doing a master's degree in fall 2025, but I'm not sure which program would be best for me—IIT Chicago MS CS or ASU MS IT.
