never done it before, i have no access to equipment, no hurdles or anything, just running shoes and me, how do i do it ?
Time was like a 44. It was rainy and windy. I would like to drop about 3 seconds.
Just had a big Pr went from 15.07 last year to 14.56 this year. What can I improve on to bring this number even further down. I know my first hurdle isn’t the best but I really want to get that 14.56 down to a 14.2-3 by the end of the season.
Can anyone give me some tips on my sons hurdling? His biggest issue is that it is very difficult to 3 step the hurdles without taking long slow strides. To make the second hurdle is very difficult. He has ran hurdles only once before 16.03. I have finals in about a week, any tips would be appreciated
This was from a recent practice and I want to get better, so if anyone has any tips please lmk
So I’m trying to become a decathlete and have put myself in the 110 hurdles in my meet Thursday with only one prior practice. I plan on doing one or two more practices this week. I run about a 12.2 100 and was wondering with average/below average technique what time I can expect. Also any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I think I may have a chance of falling if i continue this.
Thank you
Pointers?? I elongate my strides when I 3 step. I have been hurdling since freshman year(currently a junior) how can I make it so I don’t have to elongate steps. This video was from last year. (I have also fixed my sprinting form and my arms, just still elongated strides)
I’m currently a senior and just recently started my last track season. Each year when I come back to hurdling I can’t seem to start off strong (I’m never able to completely run the race with 3 steps until the end of the season). This year being my last year, I want to end strong. Here is a recent clip of me hurdling. Any suggestion is helpful! Thanks
I’m 17 and do 400mH, 110mH, and triple jump as my events. My main event is the 400mH but I lack hip flexibility for going over the hurdles.
Does anyone recommend any mobility workouts or anything to improve my flexibility for this season and onwards?
PBs: 59s (400mH last year) 16s (110mH last year)
In the video I ran a 15.5. I know my arms lag a bit but otherwise my form is decent over the hurdle. I 8 step 3 step comfortably, but it feels like I just don’t carry enough speed to the end.
I am leading to the hurdle with the knee on my lead leg, but I cannot help myself TO SAVE MY LIFE but to fully extend the knee basically rendering my hamstring/glute complex useless until I can touchdown. HOW THE F*** CAN I KEEP THIS THING BENT?? This has been my problem for ELEVEN YEARS. Does anyone have cues or exercises that have been helpful in either passively or actively solving this problem?
I run an 11.6 second 100m but a 19 second 110h. I do the 300h (I run a 45 but i feel like I can run a 43 next meet) and thats fine, Im #1 in my states 1A/2A but the 110h isnt going as well. The height for the 300 feels perfect and like i can fly, but the 110, while fun, feels like battle with myself and the hurdles rather than a race. I can 3 step and I have a good blockstart and first few hurdles but i start getting further and further from the next hurdle until im too far away on maybe the 6th and i have to readjust.
Just started out my senior year with a 14.9 with a nice tailwind. What should I be focusing on in order to run close to 14 flat by the end of this season? For a little more context I’m estimating that I could run at least an 11.5 but probably closer to 11.3/11.4
Still trying to get the 3 step while keeping my speed. Feedback appreciated 🙏🏾
18M, 110H time is 17.1, 300mH time is 42 - (I've only run both of these races once this season) For the 110H I 4 step and will typically end up joining a 3 step over one of the hurdles during the race. I know the drill to move the hurdles closer and lower to help with three stepping but I'm at a place where my natural stride is a consistent 4 step. I know the majority of the problem is definitely my speed in general but I'm also rather short for hurdles at 5'6 so would it be better for me to try increasing my stride length without bounding in the race? I'm thinking about running in college but I feel that my height disadvantage will get worse because they go from 39 to 42 inches. As I'm only a decent runner outside of hurdles I'd really only be ok at 400mh outdoor.
I've been trying to fix my trail leg for a while now, and I've just been stuck. Could anyone recommend any specific drills, strethes, or form fixes in order to improve my trail leg? FYI I was practicing at 36 inches not 39
Idk why when it comes to a three step I literally shut down pls send tips anything is appreciated
I do both the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, and I'm wondering whether I should get the super flies or the maxfly. I heard that the superfly is more stiff but durable, but I also heard the maxfly's are much more bouncier but less durable. Which one should I do?
i dont know why i cant, its draining me not being able to 3 step
I am a junior high school track athlete. I run the 110m hurdles and I was wondering if you guys have any tips or fixes for the first hurdle of the race. My times have not been very good so far this year and I always kill my speed leading up to the hurdle. My coach has helped me with high knee drills and wickets, but when Im at the 39 inch height hurdle, my last step I always put my foot out in front of me instead of behind me. I was wondering how can I mentally or phsyically be able to do that without thinking about the hurdle. My last step is always in front of me and it kills my momentum.
I’m 18 so I still run the junior hurdles (99cm) but I have started to try out the Senior height because I only have one season left as a junior.
The video below (black top orange lettering) is me running a 13.79 over 39’ from two days ago for a new US number 4✝️ Regardless, does anyone have any tips on how I could better my in between? Thanks, kachow .
Does anybody have any critiques for my hurdles 2-5. I know the start sucked it was because I stumbled.
