If you or your loved ones have vulnerable lungs keep them inside today. The air is full of smoke.
To keep it simple I’m a converting devotee. I’m from Columbus,OH where there are many temples and opportunities to meet people casually.
I also noticed the spiritual shops (where I’d buy murti or lamps etc) don’t exist around here. Could anyone point me in the right direction as far as community?
The only close one I could find that’s active is private for Indian Marshall Students.
I am still rather fresh in my study. Any help at all is deeply appreciated.
I’m looking for Intermediate to Advanced Swing Dancers in the area to start a swing dance group in the Huntington Area. This will involve getting together initially to sharpen skills which will lead to dancing at and organizing public events as well as teaching beginners. This is NOT for those wanting to learn, yet. We’ll open it up to beginners later. If interested, please join this facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/swingdancewv
Welp who didn't see this tragedy coming? The incompetence and negligence of whoever is responsible for the abysmal handling of all of this has finally caught up with them. I just hope no one got hurt.
Hey everyone!
Does anyone know of any giving trees for the area? I’d love to do one for seniors or maybe the veterans home if they exist but any of info would be great!

Voted this past Saturday. I noticed that for my representative council person I was seeing district 4. I live within district 5.
I didn't say anything at the time as my brain went, "Silly goose...you're clearly district 4". But when I got home, I realized I am indeed in district 5.
Thinking I should give the council a call about this...
Any suggestions for a good place to take our long haired cat to be groomed?
Ever drive on 3rd or 5th Avenue between 28th and 29th street only to have your Bluetooth drop connection in your car? Or on 4th Ave from 2nd street to 1st street? Or near the HPD HQ on 7th Avenue? Or near the pink elephant on Rt. 60?
These Deadzones are frustrating. Anyone have a theory as to why?

Does anyone know why the hell the Tanyard Station area stinks so damn bad? Like seriously, it's awful.
Does anyone know of a dentist(not Aspen) in the Huntington/Barboursville/Ashland/etc area that will see someone in a timely fashion? We are fairly new to the area and haven’t established medical/dental care yet.
Everyone I’ve talked to wants my partner to wait 2-3 weeks, come in for a cleaning/consult, then wait another few weeks for treatment but he has a broken tooth and is in pain NOW.
Thanks so much!
I just got a bunch of ornaments and Christmas tree items if anyone is getting rid of a Christmas tree pm me! Looking in Chesapeake and Huntington!!
In states where medically assisted suicide is legal, strict guidelines ensure it’s safe, ethical, and only available to those who truly need it. Patients must meet specific requirements:
• Terminal Illness: The patient must be diagnosed with a terminal condition and have a prognosis of six months or less to live. • Mental Competence: The individual must be mentally capable of making the decision independently. • Multiple Requests: Patients usually have to make both verbal and written requests, often with waiting periods between them. • Second Opinion: A second physician must confirm the diagnosis and prognosis.
Medical Aid in Dying is already illegal in WV, voting against this measure does not make it legal, it just keeps this additional barrier from being placed.
I've lived in Huntington since March 2016. In that time, utility costs have increased quite a bit, however I was wondering if my husband and I are paying too much considering our usage and the fact we live in a low-income city.
The following are monthly averages.
Electricity: $365
Gas: $75 (this really fluctuates...much higher in summer and lower in winter) - for kitchen range and for HVAC
Water: $78
Sanitation: $53
Municipal Service Fee: $18 (paid quarterly)
Our home is 1632 sq. ft., so not large.
Reason I'm asking is I grabbed a brochure from outside a house up for sale a couple.of blocks away. It's opposite Ritter Park so not cheap, and certainly not small. The utilities were so low I felt like calling the realtor to ask if that was with or without people living in it. Electricity was ~$100/month, which can't be correct.
So are my monthey averages high or about right, you think?
Saturday Oct 26th from 5-7p Guyandotte VFW
Basically what it says I've lived here for years and know what I'd add to Huntington if I ever won the lottery (cat cafe, or Korean BBQ) and was wondering what others would add
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a hairdresser in the Huntington area! Looking for someone who does a great lived-in look, balayage, blonding, highlights, etc. Really looking for someone with a more alternative style of cutting and someone that I can really vibe and be comfortable with!
If you have someone or a salon as a whole that you’d recommend, please comment here! TIA! ✨
Hello everyone. To sum it up, I am an MD from Europe who is considering taking a position in Huntington. Would love to hear your thoughts about the city. Pros/cons and all that would be much appreciated.
New here and most of the nightlife is not my scene. I enjoy the clubs/ bars that get packed to the gills and get pretty rowdy and play some loud music. Im 25 for what it’s worth… don’t wanna be partying with the high school seniors
If anyone has a old truck or car they don’t want and will do weekly payments on please message me. I am in desperate need of getting back and forth to work! Please if you are local in Huntington or Chesapeake area lmk! If you are further out that’s fine I can come to you!
Who’s had a rhinoplasty or a facelift in or around the Huntington area and would you use that Dr again? Doesn’t have to be the same Dr. I’m having a hard time finding a surgeon in the area. You can message me if you don’t feel comfortable replying on this thread.
We currently go to HFA, although we've historically gone to Merritt's Creek clinic.
What vet is the best in the area in your opinions? Overall, not out of the two I've mentioned.
For your consideration,This Sunday Oct 20 5-7PM 910 4th Ave
Come catch 3 creative sets at our 10th HACKS Sound Series and stay and free-jam afterwards.
Here is some of what is in store:
Father Noise is a chaotic modular synth artist making dark beats and tangling wires in his Charleston, WV studio. He is also currently using found sounds and worn tape loops in his work. Some of his sounds can be found at Instagram.com/father.noise/
The two Nicks will blend their sets together as McDermott breaks out the good old French Horn with added effects and Weckman vocalizes and dances his way through the album "Njick in the Modern World".
Does anyone know why there are 3 missing statues from downtown? I knew the one on 9th and 3rd was gone, but now Brick Trout and Disco Deer arent there! I know 100% Disco Deer was there yesterday. Are they getting fixed up or stolen by Huntington hoodlums?
