[POS] working with u/purna_rt was an exceptional experience

I found /u/purna_rt after posting on the /r/hungryartists sub. I had never used the sub before and was slightly nervous but after some conversation I felt confident in them. They were an absolute joy to work with. Kept me updated every step of the way throughout the project from concept to line work to coloring. Their love for the source material shows in all the little details and they took the project incredibly seriously. Such a unique a lovely style. Worth every penny I spent and would HIGHLY recommend them for any project you need. The piece includes my partner and I as well as our cats, both past and present, so it was a very meaningful project and they took that to heart.

I don’t want to post the piece as it’s a present for my partner and I’m terrified she will somehow see it. But rest assured if you are looking for a unique art style completely hand drawn you owe it to yourself to hire this artist.

[POS] u/arkitortured amazing artist, definitely will reach her again for more works

Big shoutout to u/arkitortured! Reached out to her for this urgent commisioned artwork since my cousin's birthday is fast approaching. Flawless attention to detail, excellent communication throughout and offered good ideas. She made the process smooth and delivered quickly. Highly recommend her for any design work!

[POS] u/howmanyaccountsdo beautiful portrait of my family & pets

I am very pleased with the work she did to create a portrait of my husband, myself and our birds. I had very specific requirements on the images/actions of the birds and the scenery and she met it to perfection. She is very professional and kind to deal with, and her prices are extremely reasonable. She was willing to make revisions & very communicative. I would recommend her highly for pet portraits!

[META] Welcome to Robot Hell

Honestly, my experience today was so bad I don't think i'll ever use this subreddit again. I left very simple instructions in my post today

  1. Do not open a chat or DM me

  2. include the phrase "narwhal bacon" in your response.

I did this in an attempt to filter the bots out and boy were they filtered. Bots were showing up left and right straight up saying

"and i can include the phrase 'narwhal bacon' as requested"

or including the full name of my post including the [HIRING] bit, brackets included

I got 23 responses on the post itself, less than half gave me my pass phrase. I could only verify three people that i was sure were real people or weren't scammers. One account was literally named Commercial-Account-173 and linked to the most suspicious "trust me bro" built by the dozen, cookie cutter "graphic design" websites i've ever seen.

I got 73 chat requests from even more bots.

To such a degree that I'm now enforcing a personal rule of "if you have numbers in your username i'm not talking to you"

this was patently ridiculous. I know that you can't moderate users who circumvent the subreddit entirely but christ on a bicycle, if I wanted my time wasted and my money wasted i'd go to Vegas.

[POS] u/bobsantiago I have nothing but positive things to say for his talent.

So, I'm a bit useless and I commissioned this piece some time ago by the fantastic u/bobsantiago and I said I would do a post - but then life gets in the way and things fall by the wayside and its easy for things to slip by you, easier still to think oh well, it's been a while so I'll just leave it.

But no, my apologies to u/bobsantiago for the delay, but communicating with him whilst he worked on my commission was such a fun process that to "Let it slide" would be an incredible disservice to his talent and skills.

I've played DND for quite a long time now, never once have I commissioned a character but as this character just hit level 21 I thought it was something special and that I would celebrate. I came across Beto, fired across an email and started the process, his replies were fast and efficient. I had a lot of ideas and things to give him as I've played this character for so many years. I just fired off everything I could think of and he managed to not only understand what I was trying to communicate, he'd even made some suggestions himself which turned out to be better than what I thought.

Overall, fantastic person to communicate with. Quick, efficient, talented and creative. I'd recommend him to anyone (And I have done - I quite often let it slip in conversations about the commission just so I have excuse to show people what he made)

[POS] u/joestrelay, He is the man for weapon designs. I have had this idea for my character's sword for going on three years, and I am very happy with the work I got from you. Thank you very much, my friend; you have done me a service.

[POS] u/noelpantsu is a quick and very talented artist

This artist was great to work with. He was very quick to start work, and executed perfectly. Knew exactly the kind of style I wanted and was open to making the slight changes I needed to make things perfect.

I would 10/10 recommend this artist for anyone who likes his style.

Another great artist im happy to have found from the commission subreddits.

[POS] u/emirh92 perfectly captured the magic item i was imagining!

Emir was wonderful to work with. I came in with a complex idea of a carved wooden staff that doubles as the scabbard for a magic sword. They responded with a beautiful, unique design that exceeded my expectations. They offered quotes with tiers ranging from sketch, cell-shaded, and full render. I went with cell-shaded, and they went above and beyond. Not only was the quality of the work exceptional, but Emir was a delight to communicate with and I can tell they take pride in their work. I absolutely recommend them!

[POS] u/paladin-painter actually did such an incredible job. It's kind of wild how well they captured what I had in mind for a steampunk city on a mountain—its like they just scanned my brain and put it the art. Super friendly and just great through the whole process 10/10

[POS] u/Mich-spich

Mich did an incredible 200x200 anthromorphic animal pixel art piece for me recently! It is probably one of my favorite pieces that I have.

Her attention to detail is incredible and she is a great brainstormer if you’re needing some ideas. I was amazed at the level of artistry that was fit into a small space. I also want to speak highly of her fast work. I appreciate too that she allows for expedited work if needed.

I would recommend Mich to anyone needing a great pixel artist :)

[POS] u/Joestrelay - amazing artist for dark fantasy.

Out of the many artists I had received portfolios from, theirs stood out to me as the most visually striking. It suits entirely what I was going for, especially if you want a fantasy vibe that's more grimdark as opposed to bright. 10/10, will be commissioning again in the future.

[POS] u/Sansiiia - Helpful and Skilled

It was my first time getting a commission, and they were really helpful on walking me through the process. They were great to work with, and the commission itself turned out similarly great! I'll be happy to give the physical copy to my dad, and I'm sure he'll be happy too. :3

(I used snip to get the picture, since the actual image is slightly too big for reddit- if there's any quality loss from that, that's on me and not them haha)

[POS] u/artbyeternaly- amazing artist created painting from a photograph

I posted on Hungry artists looking for someone to create a painting of a treasured photograph. Aly replied offering her services. After checking out some of her art I chose her to create the piece. She was very professional start to finish. I was shown several progress pictures and provided ample opportunities to give input. Highly reccommend!

[POS] /u/2D_Trash - Quick to respond and adapt to some changes in design during the process.

Typically a NSFW artist but this SFW commission was great! The initial sketch was fairly quick. Start to finish was very quick and the art at completion was great!

[POS] u/Character news_1401

Hired for a logo project for my game. After a quick chat made a few good concepts, I settled on one and spent a little little iterating and refining the idea.

Really happy with communication and openness to feedback, did an amazing job.

I would definitely hire again.

[POS] /u/Baterz_art - Extremely fast and high quality

I posted for a completely unrelated piece that /u/Baterz_art responded to and I had already found someone else to make the piece, but I loved their style so I commissioned them for a different design. They responded and had it done in the same day, even after alterations from my feedback. Check out their portfolio on instagram @baterz_art .

She qas really communicative and wanted to make sure it was done well and respectfully!

[POS] u/vengefulmedusa understood the assignment and executed perfectly

This artist responded to one of my hiring posts from yesterday and I’ve already received a PERFECT finished work today.

Usually the finished drafts require a tweak here or there, but not with this one. She understands the assignment and executed 300%. I’ll be a regular of hers.

[POS] FelixAndc - Excellent work bringing my wife's dog back to life

I hired u/FelixAndc to draw a portrait of my wife's dog, who had passed on. Prices were as advertised, and he delivered an amazing work within a week of hiring. He kept me updated throughout the process, and ensured that we were happy with the work. He also took the time to make minor edits at our request promptly. The work looks so much like the original photo, of course with his personal touches. I would highly recommend him if you are looking to hire someone to create a sketch/portrait of your pet!

[POS] u/artnisabon is a very reliable and talented artist

I had another illustration made by them for a gift and safe to say they did not disappoint (yet again). They were very accommodating for my wants for the piece and was able to turn all my yaps into something amazing.

I'm a bit indecisive but I'm glad they were understanding throughout the process.

Highly recommend their work. Would commission again!
