At your hospitals, would you say it’s hard to move up? Do you think you’ll most likely not get a chance to move up because of others with connections? Ect and ect. Anything about moving up in security you can put here. Me personally, I want to move up at my job but there are some people here who have connections to administrators and others higher up so they’re getting a lot more attention and already being considered despite only being here a couple of months.

It's Wednesday. What fuckening happened in the last seven days that you just deep in your gut is going to ruin everything? Did THAT patient show back up? Did your idea fairy admin have some great new policy to push out? Did marketing decide that you look too militaristic? Or did one of your fellow officers use the "Q" word and NOT catch a metaphoric beating over it?

Anybody else have to deal with a supervisor who has no experience in security except for sitting at a door during COVID? Current supervisor is a retired chef. Loves to micromanage and feels she has something prove to everyone. Is very passive/aggressive and pouts when she thinks she has been slighted in some way. Most of the hospital staff dislike her and some of those in our department have no great love for her either. I’m more neutral as I do what I’m payed for. No more no less. I work my shift and go home.

I have an interview tomorrow for hospital security! I applied and was called just a couple hours later and they scheduled me to come in. Shortly after the call it dawned on me they probably do a UA and don’t permit marijuana use, which I smoke a couple times a week.
I went back and looked over the application and nothing is stated about a policy or drug testing prior to employment. Marijuana is legal in my state I am in Arizona.
So I guess the question is if this is something that is usually prohibited under hospital policy? Or is it a gray area? Not sure if I should cancel the interview. I have no issues stopping my use of Mary Jane for a job but i definitely wasn’t expecting to apply and get an interview in less than 3 hours.

I work at a kid's hospital... We had a juvenile in DHS custody brought to the hospital by the police. They say she wasn't in custody and sat her in a wheelchair at the ED entrance. Her guardian (DHS) stated she required medical treatment but the PT refused to enter the facility and fought the PD (who still refused to do anything with her). Is security legally allowed to force the juvenile PT into the facility?

I am currently Security Manager with Allied Universal working for an HCA Hospital. I am looking for some advise. The hospital has added an extra post, but is refusing to add any extra Security Staff. Now we are getting complaints as we are unable to respond to multiple calls as we only have 1 Rover who is also the Supervisor. To help with this, I am also responding to calls which pulls me out of the Office and away from the Large number of other tasks the hospital has given me. I have a site supervisor who is running the 5 Emergency Rooms we have at different locations. They are taking that position away which will give me even more work spread out through 6 locations. Then, while on a call that HCA did not realize I was on, they are blaming it on poor management. Would it be more wise to switch sites, or try to make it work? If trying to make it work, what recommendations would you give to try to save the Site Supervisor position and get more staff?
